The pizza and boneless chicken bites is the best food i ever had! And the delivery time is quick, 10/10!

Prices are a bit high for the area though and I definitely wouldn't get the wings again - they were absolutely tiny with hardly any substantial meat on them. For my pizza, I got a build your own with beef, jalapeños, and onions. It was really good - reminded me of the old school Pizza Hut pizza from back in the day - especially with the thicker crust texture- I really enjoyed it. My only critique is they need to put a bit more sauce on it. Otherwise it was great. I also got a small order of buffalo wings which, as I mentioned, were puny and not worth it - there wasn't even a mouthful of meat on any of them - they were mostly fat and skin. The sauce had a nice flavor at least - but they shook the wings around in the to-go box to coat them and the sauce spilled and leaked absolutely everywhere so that sucked lol. They need to transfer to a fresh box if they're gonna do it like that. What a mess. The restaurant was clean with retro pizza spot vibes. They have some local (and national brand) beers on tap and canned as well. They're a west coast chain with a couple of locations here locally, as well as some in Cali, Idaho, and even Utah. They offer local specials and fundraiser opportunities. Prices here were high for the area and portions imo. The shop was large and can be booked for parties I think. There was plenty of parking and it's in a good location. Overall a solid choice for pizza in the area.

Price is also reasonable given the huge pie. I was able to get half margarita and half spicoli. The workers estimated a 25 min wait which was fine. It ended up being ~40 min wait but also okay. The pizza itself was super worth the wait. The crust is suuuuper thin, it's basically a cracker. Not my favorite personally, but the flavor of the whole slice is what matters. The margherita was light and garlicky and basily and oh so flavorful. I loved the balsamic glaze as well; added a deep sweet flavor which I enjoyed. The spicoli was craaaazy. The slices are massive and it's loaded with so much cheese and sausage that you can't even pick it up LOL. Flavor also 10/10. Would definitely recommend this place if you're a fan of super thin crusts! The flavors and topping selection is guaranteed yum.

THE ROSES: Located a block off the main drag in Friday Harbor, VGP is situated in a cozy, peaceful space. On nice days I highly recommend dining in the garden space out back. The salads and pizzas are excellent; they only do a relatively thin crust pizza, but it is done perfectly, and the toppings are of excellent quality. They have a very good selection of pizzas on offer; all the 'usual suspects', and a very creative selection of their own concoctions. For the GF crowd, they also offer a very nice 10" GF crust. Very good selection of wines, ciders, and beers (both bottle and tap). The staff is truly delightful; friendly and very efficient. They really leave you feeling that they appreciate your business. THE THORNS: The menu seems a little limited in that it appears to be just pizza and salads, but I think I'd rather dine in a place that does a few things really well rather than one that has a menu that's 'A jack of all trades but master of none'. THE VERDICT: Van Go's Pizza is a real standout on the Friday Harbor casual dining scene. It definitely worth the short walk up from the ferry landing and away from the tourist traps. Highly recommend!

Menu is somewhat limited to 5 or 6 starters, and only 3 pizzas for mains. Our food was OK, but it just tried too hard to be different. When half the descriptions on a menu item need either a thesaurus or an explanation from the waiter, the chef is just trying too hard. We had the hay smoked tuna, which came wrapped in an oversized lettuce leaf, and a two line description. It was good, but nothing like I expected from the waiter's description. It was raw, which I love, but not as described on the menu. Then we had a salad with "garlic toast" which was nothing more than toasted bread crumbs browned just this side of being burnt. The salad wasn't tossed, so it was only after a few bites that we found the dressing drizzled on the bottom of the plate, hidden beneath the greens. The burnt crumbs overwhelmed the little dressing we could dig up, so the salad was not good. Finally, we also had the Poh Tah Toh Pizza, which was both dry and burnt. Wood fired pizza with a little charring is OK, but our crust was fully burnt about 2 inches in from the edge. I didn't care for the honey on my pizza, though my wife liked this twist. Wine by the glass is limited, but they do have an extensive bottle list, but only of foreign wine. We had a nice Chianti blend, but the dregs had a chunky sediment that ruined that last sip. Again, this may be the best food on the island, but the menu just missed the mark for this foodie.
