I just had the worst customer experience ever! I ordered a pizza and dessert for my brother and his son in Merced. My brother is not very well to do so this was to be a birthday surprise. I live in Texas. I called the store to add on a gratuity to my order since there was no way to do so on line. At that time the girl on the phone said that I could not and that the driver would take back the pizzas if I was not at the house they were being delivered to with the bank card and ID. I asked to speak to the manager. The manager got on after a few minutes. She confirmed that that was the policy and I pleaded with her to send the pizza out and allow me to add a gratuity for the driver. She refused coldly and hid behind store policy justifying her actions. I was a bit outraged at her lack of understanding but even more so at her unwillingness to try to assist me. I gave up and called the Domino's in Merced. The nice lady there told me that they had the same policy regarding the card and ID. This was due to some instances of fraud in the area. She was then kind enough to tell me that I could by a gift card online and place the order without any hassle! So thats what I did! I am sure that I could have done the same thing at Pizza Hut if the manager had wanted the business! Some people should never be in the service industry. read more

FYI During my wait (Wed. between 6-7pm) 3 groups of families entered Pizza Hut location and left because they couldn't fulfill personal size pizza reading achievement awards presented by their kids. To management: Please plan and prepare for promotional coupons that are given out. Worst part is children left unhappy and your business lost revenue. It's standard Pizza Hut food, but the environment on the other hand is the worst, no A/C (which is probably why nobody was in there) and no ice in the fountain machine was out plus the drinks were warm, people behind the counter looked like they didn't know what they were doing when I paid with cash. Is this place under new management? I don't understand why this place got such bad ratings. I haven't been to one of these dine in Pizza Hut's in years and the kids wanted pizza, so we stopped by. I forgot to ask the lady in the front what her name was because I was going to recognize her on yelp for her A+ rating customer service. If I could rate this Pizza Hut a zero I would. Their staff is rude and gross. The last time I went they took my card to the back which is super sketch and unprofessional. They always close early to their convenience and lie about running out of products. They closed an hour and a half early. Ordered a pizza online for delivery & the estimated time for delivery was 1 1/2 hours! Called & changed it to pick up that was supposed to be ready to 30 mins. The negative reviews are there for a reason. I went in on a cold, rainy day to find the heat off and the restaurant freezing. When I complained, the employee went to talk to the manager. She came back with a sheepish expression and an obvious lie about the heat being broken. You expect me to believe that she would have to ask the manager to find that out hours after opening? So I ordered a pizza from them on Halloween of last year. I used to manage a pizza place so I understand that Halloween is CRAZY for pizza joints. However, I ordered at 11am, so it shouldn't have been this bad... I ordered online, and the online system told me that it would be delivered in thirty minutes. Okay, great. After an hour, it still wasn't here, so I called the store to make sure that my order went through(because my card was charged). Nobody answered, I called twice. I gave up trying to call. My order ended up getting here two and half hours after I ordered it! I never received a call saying it was going to be late. As a cherry on top, the pizza that I got was practically folded on top of itself. It was ruined, and ugly, and cold. I also order two sides of ranch and only got one. That was 50 cents well spent. I ended up trying to call the store again and after listening to the phone ring for thirty minutes, I gave up and tried to call cooporate. They answered, and the guy tried to call the store for me. I called in my order at 8:40 pm for a medium pepperoni and olive pizza. the lady on the other end of the phone said that it would be ready by 9:00 pm. I agreed and we hung up. She offered us a free two litter, we kindly declined and waited. We FINALLY got our pizza at 9:20 pm. The gentleman opened the box and being hungry, I did not pay attention. When we had gotten home, i noticed that the pizza was thrown sloppy into the box, there was less than 10 pieces of pepperoni, and barley any sauce. When I called in and asked for the manager, a man got on the phone. After telling him everything, he said to me " I made that pizza personally and what was the reasoning of calling?". I admit I did get frustrated and told him the reasoning for calling him was to let him know his pizza taste like shit. I told him that I wanted to call and talk to him rather than coming on here and making a complaint. Employees have no rush to clean or help... the counter is always empty and it takes several minutes to get an employee to even come and take our order.
