Fantastic lunch buffet today at Pizza Inn. Angel was our server and I remember her from last year. Used plates were picked up immediately and sodas seemed bottomless as she never let them get empty. You won't find a more hard working or friendlier server. She asked if we had any requests for the buffet and let us know when something new or unique was added. WENT FOR PIZZA,LEFT HUNGRY PAYING $13.80 FOR A SORRY & A SHRUG‼ To start off, I am a regular at Pizza Inn, my waist line will attest to that. Working on Jekyll today, lunch break comes around and I needed something quick. (I wouldn't eat a fast food hamburger on a bet.) So I decided I would hit Pizza Inn. After making the 30+ minute drive from the north end of the island. I make it to Pizza Inn around 1 o'clock. Did not have the time I normally have to spend there, so I decided not to have a pizza made. I would just eat what's on the bar and go. Well, that was the mistake of the day. In the 35 minutes that I had to spend there, they put out two (2) pizzas. One cheese only, on thin crust and a pepperoni that had enough sauce on it to swim in it. The five slices I wound up eating, only God and the dust on the walls knows how long they had been sitting out. About three handfuls of browning lettuce on the salad bar. I finally asked someone that brought out plates, if they were going to put out more pizza. She went and asked, and they had nothing in the oven and nothing started, to put out on the buffet. The buffet was full of pans that had one and two and three slices on them! Then she asked me if I wanted one made. No not now. I don't have 30 minutes to wait on one. The usual lady that stands at the register, stood there and watched me walk up to the buffet three times, making eye contact each time, and walk back empty-handed! (but when I went to check out, all she had to say was sorry!) And I wasn't the only one looking at the buffet selection and scratching my head. But this is absolutely typical of the (all you can eat) buffet at Pizza Inn!!! They worry more about the carryout customers, than the customers they already have sitting in house! But we do like the pizza there, when they decide to put some out. And normally we have the time and not in a hurry. The service I had refilling my drink was spot on, as always. Pizza Inn ... Brunswick Ga. Omg I live to come home and to simply get a slice of a thin crust slice of pizza. World's greatest to me. It's crispy nice snd thin slice the little sausages are just the perfect size and the flavor of their pizzas none like it. I just pray that they stay in business for a long time. Went to the buffet today. It was tremendous. Everything is so fresh and they are constantly refilling the buffet line with fresh food. The hot cinnamon rolls are pretty good themselves. Excellent service as well. read more

The mold in this dining room is incredible. And I'm sure it's in the ductwork too . And the dirty mop water smell blowing from beneath the salad bar! My nose poured continuously the whole time I was in there. And the stench of the men's room!! - good lord Mr. Owner , please clean your restaurant like it hasn't been in years, and pay what is needed to get it done. And get some fresh air in there by opening a door or installing a window. Get an inexpensive ozone machine and run it every night when nobody is around; that would be a bandaid fix for what really needs to be done. Exterior They're located on Cypress Mill and have been around since my childhood. In fact, when I placed my order, I realized that I haven't had Pizza Inn pizza since I was 12 years old. Talk about a blast from the past! Plenty of free parking but the parking lot is a bit 'tight.' There was a big truck trying to maneuver / back out of their parking space and it was very hard for the driver to avoid clipping the cars parked in the row opposite the building. No stars deducted, I've noticed that despite the fact that most people drive trucks, mini-vans and SUVs, parking lot spaces are getting tinier and the driving aisles are getting more narrow. Interior I didn't make it past the register / lobby / waiting area but it appeared to be spacious, bright and well lit. Food (photos attached) I ordered half Pizza Inn Special (aka the Supreme Max) and half Meaty Max on pan crust. (I asked about the difference between the Pizza Inn Special and the Supreme Max and was told there is no difference - lol.) The Meaty Max half had very little toppings at all. They forgot the pepperoni and while there were a few meager bacon crumbles and tiny ham squares, the most visible topping was something that I couldn't discern (it was either the ground beef and Italian sausage but if it was both, gotta say, they looked and tasted identical). The Supreme Max half had more toppings but they were not distributed evenly making for a less amazing eating experience. I like black olives and it's a good thing I do because one of my bites was a pretty much a mouthful of black olives. They don't have deep dish, but the cashier told me the pan pizza is fairly thick so I went with that and she was correct. The crust was extremely rich and buttery and tasted just like I remembered from my youth. I enjoyed it but knew my stomach was gonna rebel so I only ate one slice from each half. I loved this type of pizza when I was a kid, but now that I've gotten older and my palate has changed - I really do like a pizza that focuses more on the quality cheese and outstanding toppings. The crust and sauce are the supporting cast members, but I want my cheese and toppings to be the stars of the show. Price / Value I asked for the $14.99 takeout / carryout special mentioned online. I think it was an 'ok' value. I think my issue with Pizza Inn (and the very similar Pizza Hut) is the fact that I'm old enough to remember what their pizzas USED to look like back in the day. Remember when their pizzas used to have so many toppings you could barely see the cheese? They used to look just like the adverts and that just doesn't happen anymore - even before the pandemic, most chain pizza spots started getting really stingy with the toppings and this place is no exception. Customer Service The young woman who took my phone order was pleasant and professional. The floorplan allows you to see into the kitchen and it appeared to be bustling with activity. There were at least 2 cashiers, 1 manager or hostess and several servers standing near the entrance when I entered. This was probably one of the only spots I visited while in town that did NOT seem short staffed. Overall Overall, I enjoyed this trip down memory lane. Even though I didn't partake of them, I like the fact that they have some 'non-traditional' pies like Taco pizza, Spicy Asian Chicken pizza, Chicken Fajita pizza and Chicken Alfredo pizza. I also like that they still have a pizza and salad buffet. And the staff was pleasant. If the toppings had been plentiful, this would have easily been a 4 or maybe even a 5 star review. Three stars on Yelp equals A-OK and I think my experience was a solid 3.5. I think families with teens and young kids would really enjoy this spot. read more

Visiting from Kentucky. I saw how many high star ratings this place had and decided to eat here. Service - 3 / 5 Our waitress didn't give us her name but we did come in at the very end of the day. She was friendly and asked if there was any specific pizza that we wanted from the buffet. They didn't seem very friendly as none of the staff were smiling or seemed to want to connect with us. Again we came at 8:45 and they close at 9:30 or so. So they were trying hard to close everything down. Ambiance 1/5 The place smelled of mold / wet dog smell. There were bugs / gnats flying around the food. There was a dirty table behind us that took 15 minutes for anyone to clean. Food - 3/5 The food was good and was refreshing after a 12-13 hour drive. Their buffet had many options (traditional and non-traditional {pickles}) Would Be Back (1/5) Probably wouldn't be back. Nothing really stood out about their food and service. She has been eating it for over thirty years and this location is 1 90 minutes from our house, but will now become a fairly regular stopping point for us. The last Pizza Inn I visited was near Raleigh, NC, and when my wife said she wanted pizza & salad for supper, my expectations were very low when we pulled into the parking lot at Pizza Inn in Brunswick, Ga. The Raleigh experience was very bad, but my experience in Brunswick was very good. First of all, we were greeted with a smile, and we had an awesome server (Imani). She had a warm, sweet smile, and really seem to enjoy her job. New pizzas came out often, and the employee would announce what kind it was. My broccoli & cheese soup, house dressing on the salad bar and cheeseburger pizza were standouts. My ice tea was very good also. Thanks Imani for a great visit. read more

I grew up eating Pizza Inn in Texas during the 90s. It's been since at least the early 2000s since I've had it. Fast forward to today. We wanted pizza, but didn't want Domino's or any of the chains. We gambled and DoorDashed the pepperoni max and bacon cheeseburger. We weren't disappointed. The delivery was hot, fresh, and the pizza tasted better than I remembered. Hubby is a New Yorker and is a tough critic when it comes to pizza, but he approved. We'll be ordering from here a lot more often. read more

Great neighborhood pizza place. Having just moved to Brunswick we haven't adjusted to the city's swamp water. We're retired eat out lunch daily, pizza inn is the first restaurant that actually filters the water. We've eaten at the hotel restaurants to the local arches, we thanked the owner who was working behind the counter, will definitely be back for the pizza and the best iced tea in Brunswick. read more

This is a great pizza and salad buffet. The pizzas were fresh and hot. When staff brought a pizza for the buffet, the server announced it loudly so diners could get without hovering around. Salad fixings were fresh, crispy and refilled when low. My server was great with bussing a table for me and refilling my drink. (My only drawback is I'm not a Pepsi fan but everything else was super) Thought I had a photo showing a great tasting pizza ! It is family friendly and was very busy. Nostalgia is a powerful thing. Memories from our youth...if only we could freeze time. But life goes on, and sadly the memory ends up being far better than any attempt to relive it. Such is the case for me, my wife, a Raleigh, NC Pizza Inn in 1985, and a lot of taco pizzas. Young and poor, once a month we did a taco pizza and a pitcher of beer. We couldn't find taco pizza this good anywhere else. But then we moved to Ohio where there were no Pizza Inns. The memory persisted, and every now and then we'd find a close approximation, like in Conway, SC, or Hillsville, VA. But never the same. Life does go on, and we find ourselves living in Florida. Any chance there's a Pizza Inn around us? Unlikely...but let's have a look. And now here we are, Brunswick, GA. We've had taco pizza every night this weekend. And we'll be making trips back to Brunswick a couple times a year...to make nostalgia real for us, at least in this one small way. So needless to say, I highly recommend the taco pizza here. But in my few trips here, I saw such a great small business. The owner, working hard in the kitchen, the lady at the register telling me that they've been there since 1975, and the special treatment we were afforded with our to go pizza heading back to St. Augustine (lettuce and tomato on the side so we could reheat without wilting). Give this place a shot, whether you have a nostalgic moment to relive or not...I don't think you'll regret it. read more

Food coma! We are traveling through and wanted pizza and now we are all in a food coma...even the picky teenager! I NEED one of these in my hometown! It's a buffet so everyone is happy. I was there today waitress can't even read the restraint signs manager or owner Pete acts like me spending my money there I am doing him a favor. Terrible food and service will file complaints with chamber of commerce. This business is not military or people with American with disabilities act non compliant go somewhere where you are treated with respect. Waitress should be fired and also what kind of business makes you wear gloves as a precaution but doesn't use them and doesn't have contactless pay I mean it's 2020 no condiments on table waitress has attitude problems. Buffet is open all day. It's not like other buffets where the food sits out and gets stale. These guys are continually bringing out hot, fresh pizzas the whole time you're there. You can make a request and they will have it up in 10-15 minutes and they serve it to you before putting it on the bar. The staff is very helpful and attentive. They also holler out the pizza name when they put it on the bar so that you don't have to keep getting up to see if your fave one has come out yet. The pizza is some of the best of any chain pizzeria I've had. The salad bar has a huge selection of toppings. And I must say this... they are not using hidden valley ranch. Their ranch is the house-made real deal! Thick and so fresh! I have NO time for bottled ranch at a pizza restaurant. They know what's up! The best part of Pizza Inns everywhere though... is the chocolate chip pizza. When you make your request.. make sure you tell them you want it slightly undercooked. Gooey golden perfection. I just moved to Brunswick this week and was looking for a place for lunch. We just so happened to see the sign so a friend and I decided to stop in. Let me tell you, I have never seen so many options at a pizza buffet. Any pizza you'd like they make fresh on the spot on 1 of 4 crust options. Salad, pasta, soup. They have it all. On top of that they have such wonderful and accommodating staff. I left here today with a full stomach and a heaping dose of southern hospitality. Our family has been visiting Pizza Inn since the 1970's. It is the one Brunswick pizza place we can all agree on. The pizza buffet is a fantastic value, and gives you a chance to try pizzas you might not if you were ordering a whole one. I like their buffet because they do put out lots of different pizzas like cheeseburger, veggie, buffalo chicken, and taco, as well as the standards like supreme and pepperoni. The salad bar is fresh and has a fair selection of greens and vegetables. The dressing selection is large. I recommend the house dressing it is their own recipe. read more

We've eaten there frequently because our daughter likes it. For the type of business the quality and service are what I'd expected. The pizza isn't gourmet but people shouldn't expect that from a pizza buffet. It's decent and good. They are good about making sure the type of pizza you want is available and are quick and regularly refill drinks. They also do a good job of keeping the salad bar stocked.
