Haven't been to a Mellow Mushroom in a very long time. We were on St Simon's Island sightseeing today and decided to give it a try since they are pet friendly and had a nice, sunny outdoor area to eat with our pup. It was a very cold day and we really didn't want to sit outside. The manager was super nice and put us in a corner away from everyone else so we could stay warm. I told her that no one would even know we had a dog because she is so well behaved. Our server, Maddy was very quick to greet us and take our drink order. I had the peach margarita and my husband had the house margarita. They were so delicious. The salt rim on my drink was so good that I asked her to give me the secret. She actually brought me the bag to take a picture of so I could purchase it. It was a salt and sugar mix. We ordered the Kosmic Karma pizza which was amazing. The presentation was just as nice. We really enjoyed our lunch and service today and will definitely return. Ask for Maddy...she is great! read more

While we love mellow mushroom and with this one being at the beach - even better - but the service here is the ABSOLUTE WORST - THE WORST!!! And such a shame because like I said, we love the food at our local MM, but it never fails that this one has HORRIBLE SERVICE!! Especially the hostesses. Extremely rude and unhelpful. Can't EVER get a delivery or pick up order for one reason or another. Hope they get it together soon or else they're done. read more

First time, great experience, exceeded my expectations. Food was absolutely phenomenal. I had a beer, the Holy Shiitaki Pie pizza and it's one of the best pizzas I've ever had. Best part was our dining facilitator, Marissa; what an absolute sweetheart. She sparkled, literally, anxious to serve, always with a big smile and personality for days. As an 82-year-old woman who has eaten in more restaurants than I've had birthdays, I feel uniquely qualified to declare that my recent visit to this establishment was--without exaggeration--the worst dining experience of my long, patient life. Let's begin with our waiter, Will, a young man who seemed put out by the mere fact that customers exist. I've had houseplants with more attentiveness. After waiting nearly fifteen minutes just to be acknowledged (I am old, dear, not invisible), he finally shuffled over with the enthusiasm of someone headed to jury duty. When I asked a simple question about the menu, he sighed at me--actually sighed!--as though I had asked him to recite the Constitution from memory. The pizza arrived lukewarm, rubbery, and looking as though it had given up on itself halfway through being made--much like young Will seemed to give up on serving it. He dropped it on the table without so much as a "Here you go," then vanished so completely I wondered if he had taken an early retirement in the middle of his shift. I tried to flag him down for a refill, but he avoided eye contact with the skill of a man dodging responsibilities. When he finally reappeared, he offered the kind of customer service that implied I had personally wronged him in a past life. By the end of the meal, I was not sure what was colder--my pizza or Will's attitude. In short: if you enjoy bad food and worse service, this is the place for you. My son and I love mellow, so we opted to drop in here while the rest of the fam had seafood. I always love how each Mellow is decked out differently! So the owner of this store also owns the local movie theater, so you'll see many movie themed items in here. My favorite was the Kung Fu Panda. Lots of parking around but can get tight since it's near the main shopping strip. It's also the most unassuming Mellow I've seen ... you can easily drive past it and not know what it was. The sign out front is super small. Inside, lots of fun. Big bar, with lots of TVs, a wall of golf bags (random), high-top family style tables and small tables. They have a huge patio area outback with scenic seating and another bar, plus a cozy covered area. Our service was fast and we didn't have to wait long. The usual for us, cheese pizza and pretzel bites. Would highly recommend for the atmosphere alone! read more

Absolutely the best place on the island to watch a game. Amanda is our favorite bartender and she is extremely attentive and detail oriented. The pizza is by far the best you will find on St Simons and I highly recommend the meatballs. Salads are good too. Happy Hour food specials from 2-6p at the bar. Can't be beat. read more

Always good, never bad. Maybe we are just lucky but every Mellow Mushroom everywhere has been so very good. Today was no exception. We were able to get seating outside and it's beautiful. Built around an oak tree, it's cooler and has a great atmosphere. Our waitress was super sweet and prompt with everything. We had the pitcher of red sangria and it was perfectly strong. We started with the cloud nine wings. Don't ever ask why there is only one flavor on the menu, It's because these are the only flavor you'll ever need. For mains we got the holy shiitake, buffalo chicken and pepperoni pizzas. Perfect, perfect and perfect. It does get very busy at this location so be prepared. Also, parking is very limited everywhere on the island. We will definitely be back during the calmer weekdays, off season. read more

Not sure why the overall rating is sub par for mellow mushroom because it's my new favorite spot on the island. I know it's a chain, but this location is the best. Sitting on the back deck with the trees coming out of the floor is so neat. I love the big garage doors to see inside of the bar and watch the many TVs. The pretzel bits are absolutely unreal, I could've had those as my meal. I was glad we tried the pizza too though because it was just as good. I loved my mock-tail with the pineapple and turmeric. Staff was so friendly and prompt. Overall this spot checks all the boxes and I can't wait to go back very soon. read more

I love this Mellow. It's in a perfect location, the indoor/outdoor seating is unique and the food is up to the Mellow standard. They have menu items that you won't find at many other Mellow's which is also nice as a change of pace. They have drink specials as well which always help with the final check. I don't like to go to chains while on SSI but I make an exception for Mellow whether it's just for a drink or two, checking out a sporting event or for a quick meal. read more

One of the WORST pizzas I ever ate, in between plastic and fake American pizza. If you are looking for authentic Italian pizza, forget this place. We ordered 2 pizzas one being vegan and the second being a house special. The vegan pizza had meat on it and the dough was still a bit raw. The house pizza had zero flavor and was undercooked. To top it off it took 45 minutes to get pizzas that weren't cooked all the way. We have eaten at other mellow mushrooms with no issues but avoid this one. read more

great pizza BUT, after we ordered we were told the kitchen is backed up. we waited one hour and 20 mins for pizza. everyone around us waited just as long. we asked to talk to a manager but she was unavailable as she was working in the kitchen. no one apologized, nothing comped. This is by far one of the coolest Mellow Mushroom restaurant locations I have visited. The design is just pure awesomeness with plenty of televisions inside and out to watch the game; speaking of the outside, the deck is marvelous as it is build around the old and magnificent tree that is situated in the middle. I also love the beehive lights on the deck. This MM has a fully stocked bar with plenty of liquors and a nice whiskey collection; and plenty of quality craft beers on draft. The food keeps the same high quality as other mellow mushrooms and serves some good damn pizza. Service from both the bar and waitstaff was excellent, friendly, and efficient. I'm looking forward to my next trip to SSI so I can hang out here again. read more

Excellent pizza, drink selection, and customer service. Came in for a large birthday party and were easily accommodated on the patio. The Thai chili wings and pretzel bites with beer cheese were incredible. I also ordered a pacific rim pizza, which was pure perfection because pineapple belongs on pizza. End of story!
