We were big fans of Pizza King for a really long time. I grew up on Pizza King and lived close to the very first one. But then the Fortville PK started to slip down and we left them for other pizza places in town. We decided to give them another chance, and boy are we glad we did. New manager and she is turning things around. Back to the old PK we lived. She is really going above and beyond to make sure she gets their reputation back. I stopped in this Pizza King thinking I had been to it before, but I was mistaken, this was my 1st visit. The restaurant is very small and it was obvious they do very little dining room business. There were the usual Pizza King menu/placemats on all the tables, so I sat at one. An employee asked right away if I was dining in (I thought that was obvious) and I said "yes". He then immediately serviced three carry-out customers that came in after I sat down (short staffed here). He returned to take my order, and when it came to the drinks, I asked for the large fountain drink, and was informed they don't have fountain service, just 20 oz bottles and 2-liter bottles (the fountain drinks were on the menu). He then left and returned with my drink order (including a 23 oz glass with ice), and took my food order, I ordered a small stromboli and small thin crust pizza. Both were prepared promptly and delivered to the table with a small plate for the pizza (stromboli was on its own plate). I requested parmesan cheese and he returned with several packets of it. All the food items were good, and tasted pretty much as expected, however, I prefer my pizza a little more "done" than typical (I should have asked). read more

I was terribly disappointed in my pizza from pizza king in Fortville. We ordered a 14" with pepperoni and extra cheese along with breadsticks. They over quoted us on time so our food was cold and our pizza looked like it sat way to long in the oven because it had several large burnt bubbles on it and definitely didn't have extra cheese on it. This pizza is not cheap so I expect a better quality product from them than other competitors. Service was also not good, waited to be greeted for quite some time and then the lady wouldn't even look at me or speak to me. She only talked to other employees. We're local to the area, but never have ordered a pizza from this particular Pizza King until tonight. We happened to be in the area for a function and decided to get one for the way home. We ordered half pepperoni and half Royal Feast. The pepperoni half was basically the dough, red sauce and a few sprinkles of cheese. The Royal Feast half had some cheese and a little sausage. After searching for awhile, we did find about 3 bits of mushrooms and 1 tiny bit of green pepper - on the entire half. We've had the Royal Feast from other Pizza King establishments and this one was by far the saddest one I've ever seen. By no means will we order from here again. I said I'm calling about the hiring position... he got the manager on the phone and she was a total disrespectable mgr!!! I inquired about kitchen and she said limited... needs delivery person.. We have had very good pizzas from this location. They are always made to our satisfaction with fresh ingredients. The breadsticks are awesome too... They are very helpful with the use of the coupons too. Very friendly in person and on the phone The only issue we have ever dealt with is with delivery... there were a couple of times we had problems with late deliveries.. from then on-when I call, I just ask about how long and they let me know and I know what to expect. Unfortunately u can not give less than a one star rating order three pizzas over an hour and a half ago. A half hour ago a Lisa said ours should be on the way. Now told ours is going in the oven now. Fortunately t is a chain drive oven ( 4 minutes) instead of the tradition stone or oven brick ovens. I can't wait to taste there pizza I hope it is better than the quality of the employees on the phone. I have two hungry grandchildren who have been waiting. So.... I ordered my pizza and started a movie with my kids (15, 5, 1) while we waited for dinner. 55 minutes later I call and ask when my pizza would be delivered (kids hungry in the background) they ask around in the background and then say they are putting it in the oven now... . When I ask them why it was just going in the oven they said it's because it's busy and a lot of deliveries. I ask, is it normal to take an hour just to make a pizza. The woman said no and then stated, we are putting it in right now. I still was not given any idea of when my food would be arriving or any kind of apology.... I think I will stick to mccordsville pizza king in the future.... SO DISSAPPOINTED!! Pizza arrived 35 minutes later and not at all hot. My family and I have been going to this Pizza King for over 40yrs. Tonight will be the absolute last time I ever get pizza there again. The last few times the service has been very poor, as has the quality of the pizza. That can be overlooked. Tonight cannot. I ordered shortly after they opened and they told me they'd "have that right out for me". An hour and a half later I called to see where my order was. The person answering the phone, who was very unprofessional when taking my order originally, was extremely rude and sarcastic. When I asked where the delivery was, she informed me that the driver had a lot of deliveries to make. I said I would've liked to have known that when I ordered. To which she replied "there wasn't four orders in when you ordered". Then I got "look, there's only two of us, give us a break". Another 20 mins later my pizza arrived looking like it had been made by someone who was blindfolded, and undercooked. On top of that, they forgot my drinks. The delivery driver was a little more apologetic, but the woman answering the phones should be fired. Again, 40yrs of my family's business and none of us will ever go back to this location again. **This occurred on 10/40/2017. I only gave them one star because a half star was an option. read more

I'd like to rate this higher because Pizza King has one of my favorite pizzas, however, the most recent visit at this Pizza King left much to be desired. They were friendly and efficient and timely for our pick which is always good. We got the pizzas and breadsticks home and they were hot and fresh. The downfall was flavor. We got the chicken ranch pizza and the ranch sauce on it just tasted like cream cheese , not very ranchy and there was SO much onion on it that's all I could taste. The entire pizza was coated with diced onion, literally the entire crust. Though I like onion, it was a bit much. Overall the pizzas just didn't have much flavor which was disappointing because the last time we went to that Pizza King location the pizza was on point. read more

I've never been treated so poorly for doing nothing wrong. I called ahead and ordered a small cheese pizza for my 2 year old and said the smallest size like a personal pan pizza. She rung me up and said 20 minutes. I pull up literally 5 minutes after the phone call and went inside to pay. I saw they had a pan pizza so I wanted to clarify that I didn't get that. She said that's what she had them make and I told her I wanted the small regular cause my son couldn't eat a really thick pizza. She ignored me for the most part and said she would have to tell the manager. All good. They bring out the pizza and breadsticks and I see it's the huge pan pizza. I waited for the other customer to finish and then asked her if she could make a regular cheese pizza cause he couldn't eat it. She got all mad and stormed in the back. I'm sitting with my boy and hear, "that asshole out there...." I waited a couple seconds cause I couldn't believe I was just called an asshole for asking for the correct pizza to be made and I didn't even ask for the difference in price back. The "manager" came up and didn't care one bit. I asked for the owner's number and her name and she said she didn't have to give it to me. She admitted I should have never been called an asshole and got the correct pizza made. This place is usually on point and nice but that girl needs to work in the back where she can't talk to customers. I would be fired in a heartbeat if I called a customer an asshole. Terrible experience! Would never recommend to anyone. Ordered pizza, and like many others, it had not delivered after an hour when they said 30 min. At that point I was told it was coming out of the oven. 30 minutes later the driver calls and is at the wrong address. No apologies. Blamed "corporate".
