Power was out at home on Friday, so we ventured out for an early dinner. We drove far enough to get where the power was on, saxony pizzeria was our destination. I guess others had the same idea bc it was packed; the owner said people started showing up about 2:30!!! Well, it has a bar, so of course I ordered a beer. Our server was a bit overwhelmed by the volume. A friend reassured he was a good person and that he was fairly new. The beer arrived!!! As noted earlier, I was there for food. As noted, it's a pizzeria, so I ordered the mini corn dogs‍. They were beef and came with fries. They really taste good. So good in fact, I'd get them again. Saxony reminds me of a neighborhood bar. Under new management with a nice revised menu and a big upgrade to their wine selection. We had a bottle of the Bonanza with a Supreme Pizza. We went with friends and really enjoyed the evening. The TV's in the bar area are excellent for your favorite sports. The service was great, we were impressed with all the changes. read more

The restaurant is under new management, and the menu has changed quite a bit since my last visit. Unfortunately, several of my favorite items are no longer available. They still serve mozzarella sticks, but they're no longer the mozzarella logs I remember. The new version was smaller, and the cheese pull just wasn't the same. We also ordered the wings, which are usually one of our favorites, but they were tough to chew this time. They also no longer offer them Daytona-style, which is how we always ordered them. Even the ranch tasted different. When I asked about it, I was told the kitchen no longer makes it from scratch. Our server was friendly and did a great job, but unfortunately, the food was disappointing. Based on this experience, I don't think we'll be coming back. read more

I come here often! I love saxony pizza. I have not ventured out on the menu. I stick to my usual thin crust. Customer service is great and if they make a mistake ; they correct it on site. This pizza even reheats well in the air fryer ! It's a little expensive but so worth it!! read more

Really nice atmosphere, especially the outdoor space. I got a supreme pizza and breadsticks with garlic butter dip. So good! Loved all the toppings and the breadsticks are some of the best I've had; the right amount of doughy and crispy. Very friendly and prompt service. Will be going back for sure! read more

Met friends for drinks and ended up taking a couple of items home for dinner. Wife had a gluten free pizza and I had a calzone. Both were tasty, baked just right. Waiter was a goof (high?) for sure, but Saxony Pizzaria is a good little neighborhood joint. Stopped by at 6 PM Wednesday night dinner, no customers on the patio, very few inside. The outside patio was filled with trash. The tables were all dirty. We sat down and requested they turned on the music and could not do it because of the game? Can't come into the food because we were too scared to stay. Ordered a Detroit style pizza in a Wednesday night for pickup. Gave them an hour and a half notice prior to pick up time. Also ordered a 16" pepperoni. The Detroit's crust was raw through half the pizza. The pepperonis pizza had plastic in the crust; plastic like Saran Wrap, only heavier gauge. This isn't the first time the Detroit style wasn't cooked properly but this was the first time I complained. I sent a private email to let them know but never got any response. I never asked for any recompense; I just wanted to let them know. Nothing back. Unfortunately, this isn't baseball so no third strike for this out. We're done with Saxony. read more

Came and sat on the patio when it was slow. Ordered food and proceeded to wait over an hour for the waitress to say sorry and never checked on us. She keep telling us 10 more minutes. In town visiting family and got a large pepperoni with breadsticks. Real quick, this place is EXPENSIVE. The pizza tasted great, we all loved it. Breadsticks on the other hand were unpleasant, feel like they could've used less dough, more flavor and additional time in the oven. So Good!! Went on a Tuesday night got the breadsticks which were flavored nicely and the nacho cheese which was delicious. We also got a 12 Inch Buffalo Chicken pizza, it was the BEST Buffalo chicken pizza I've ever had. I can not wait to go back and try some different pizzas. The BEST Detroit style pizza I've found in Indiana. Seriously even better than the other one that's located in downtown Indianapolis (you know the one). The other place comes super close to Saxony, and was my favorite for awhile, until Saxony. 5 stars - Detroit style pizza. Even though they only have veggie topping options for vegetarians, and not the vegan meat options, that's okay. Because their veggie options are fresh and cut to the right size for a pizza. The dough though. It's not too thick and not too thin. It's got a chew, but still airy. And the crispy cheese crust border, that you expect in a Detroit style pizza. Wow!! It's the best kind of crispy melty cheese. The pizza is so satisfying. I'm usually a thin crust kinda gal, but not at this place. 5 stars - Detroit style pizza. Ordered wings, pizza and mozzarella sticks. Pizza could have had more sauce on it, crust was done well and tasted great. Wings were good. The mozzarella were awesome, love the hand batter mix on them. The service could use more training and the place wasn't very clean, bathrooms were not clean at all. Nice neighborhood pub!! The pizza was absolutely incredible, and definitely worth the price in my opinion! The toppings were plentiful and the veggies were fresh. The dough had an amazing flavor to it as well. You could taste all the seasonings in the sauce too. 10 outta 10! A 12 inch pizza could easily feed 2-3 people with leftovers depending on the toppings. The wings were mediocre. They came with carrots & celery, but ranch was an extra (82 cent) charge... We grabbed a basket fries that were very very salty. I think they used sea salt by accident so we had to wipe them off a bit before eating. We loved the atmosphere of this place. Lots of TVs and a great selection of beers on tap. I've been looking forward to trying Saxony Pizzeria after reading great reviews and seeing pictures of the pizza - finally made it in and loved it! My family and I all agreed Saxony Pizzeria is one of our new favorite places...we're planning to become regulars. We made a pretty big order to try a lot - breadsticks, wings, a tavern cut thin crust, and a Detroit style. The breadsticks were huge and really tasty, the wings were some of the best I've had lately, and both pizzas were delicious. We went with half pepperoni half bacon on the thin crust and half cheese half sausage on the Detroit - the toppings were great and so were the crusts. The people were all very friendly and attentive. We called ahead and they saved a table for us and treated us like friends from our arrival until we left. Highly recommend! read more

The pizza and breadsticks were the only good part of the experience and we could have gotten that for less than the $96 we spent. You are obviously paying their rentParty of 5, 2 ordered water to drink and the other 3 ordered soft drinks. We got a 16" Quattro formaggio pizza and a 12" whammer jammer pizza and 1 1/2 orders of breadsticks. The breadsticks were half the size and smaller than normal breadsticks that you see other places. The service absolutely sucked, no offer to refill our drinks and she didn't check on us after the pizza came out. We had to ask for clean plates for the pizza and my menu had a bunch of dried/smeared food on it. Ambiance? Nada. We won't be back. read more

All the food was great but the service was so chaotic. Waited forever for a waitress. Then pizza came out first. Had to ask about appetizers, then some came out half way through pizza, then salads came out at the end after I already tried to cancel. Then server tried to give us someone else's drink. The waitress said they'd take something off the tab but that never happened. As we're trying to figure out what's going on we can hear people at the table next to us apologizing to their guests for bringing them here. Saxony Pizzeria is a neighborhood restaurant in the Saks in the area right off 131st and olio Road. Definitely tucked away but worth the the Dieter. Their pizza is good. You definitely want to try their breadsticks. They have outdoor seating and pet friendly. read more

You know when a four year old turns down pizza it's a problem not to mention it was very overpriced. Per the usual kid request she wanted pizza..again. Took the pizza to some friends who no longer live in the Saxony area. They were thrilled with the pizza flavor! Brought back fond memories of when they temporarily lived in the area. The service was also great. I added a salad at the last minute when I picked up the pizza. They got it to me in less than 5 minutes. The salad good and the ranch dressing was tasty! Can't get that ranch dressing taste at the grocery store! There were a couple people sitting outside and it looked like they were having a blast. I would definitely recommend this place. read more
