I found the beef on the AAA Steaky Smoked & Bulgogi pizzas were very dry. Also the Garlic Butter Chicken didn't seem to have much garlic. This location is the only location near us now. I really wish the Yonge/Sheppard location hadn't closed. I thought their pizzas tasted better. Even though it is the same franchise. The veggie pizza tasted the best I think. But the rest of the family enjoyed the pizza & karage at leaste. Service: We were not impressed with the service. When we walked in to make an order it was just past 11.30am. The lady at the order window said we don't open until 12pm. Hubby was surprised as he had ordered at this location before 12pm in the past. Hubby felt she was a bit rude. So we went to a cafe nearby to hang out until 12pm. We came back & made our order. The lady who had told us to come back at 12pm was stomping around & put some other orders on the pick up table which were not ours. We ended up next door to order at Ikka Ramen (newly opened) to try their food as well. They were much nicer. Many came in to place an order & got their food before us. Made us wonder why our food was taking so long. We eventually got our pizzas but were not liking the service we received. Ambiance: Pizza Maru is actually combined with Katsuya now. The place is pretty ordinary looking. There are a bunch of booth tables. Most people seem to order takeout from here rather than dining in. The parking lot is not large & there are several potholes so be careful when driving in. I'm not sure if I would order here again. The service was surly & the pizza not as great. read more

Ordered the signature shrimbul 13 inch pizza. I wasn't a huge fan of it and I wouldn't order the same pizza again. The dough was like a greenish colour which was cool. But all in all it just felt like a bunch of cheese and toppings on top of a bed of dough, for me I didn't think the flavours went that well together. The shrimps have the tail on it still so have to remove as you eat (if you prefer not to eat shrimp tails). I ordered delivery so can't comment on service or ambiance. read more

Pizza Maru has the cheesiest pizza in the city. If you're looking for a strong cheese pull for you instagram/TikTok vids this is the place for you. We got the bulgogi beef pizza (10 inch) which I would rate 4 stars And the potato pizza (10 inch) which I would rate 5 stars since it was soooo cheesy. I preferred the potato pizza because it was heftier with more toppings than the other one. It really satisfied my cravings for cheese. The pizza is both cheesy and a bit sweet which was very enjoyable. The ambience and service of the restaurant was very good. Every time I've come here the service and staff have been very nice and kind. (Bonus tip: leave them a google review and you can get a free pop drink). Not pictured is the jalamayo dip sauce I got as well which was very delicious (and although not spicy it was still jalapeño flavoured). I ordered bulgogi pizza. Actually, two of them, because there was half price promo. Placed order over phone and took a bit too long to get there. The promo was for takeout only, but I decided to take some photos and a bite before heading out. Very flavourful, and not very greasy at all. I don't enjoy greasy pizza, so this was fantastic. The dough is also quite different, and you can see on the walls that it's a green tea based dough consisting of 10 different grains. Definitely sounds unique. Some issues I had with this store: 1. Pizzas were prepared already by the time I arrived, and just sitting on the counter. Seemingly no attempt to keep it warm, and as expected, it was already cooled down. Feels like there could be an improvement here. 2. Another thing that was quite noticeable was the consistency of the toppings: one pizza appeared to have a lot more toppings than the other. Raised this with the cashier, and apparently what you get really depends on who's preparing it. I guess I got the generous chef? Good pizza overall. Hyped up about the grand opening 50% off special in the weeks coming and anticipating huge lines but arriving 15mins early the line wasn't too bad. Maybe 10 people in front. I've never tried Korean pizza but I hear Pizzamaru is one of the best. For me it was too sweet. The thinner (not thin crust) crust was good and the dough to substance ratio was perfect. The green tea crust itself was nice and light but nothing special. The flavor reminded me of whole wheat dough. The pizza was topped with sweet bulgogi, cheese, yellow and green peppers, and onions. Another thing, I did see my order sitting on the counter done and ready for me for a good 5mins while all the servers and cashier was just standing around. They looked at the number receipt twice and still didn't bring it to me. Not sure what they were waiting for, maybe to have people wait so it looks like there's a line. But my pizza was warm.. ish by the time I ate it. I'd come back for the 50% off ($12) but not regular price. We came around 4:15pm this afternoon for a super late lunch take out. Only waited about 15-20 minutes. I am a seafood lover so I ordered the Seafood Bay 13' and added the golden edge where there is sweet potato mousse inside. The sweet ranch sauce was a little too sweet to my liking. The shrimp was a good size, the only thing is I didn't see potato as an ingredient on the menu for the Seafood Bay but I tasted quite a number of small chucks of potatoes. Pizza Maru's unique Korean-inspired takes on pizza incorporate lots of pineapple as well as other interesting ingredients, so we had to check it out. Be warned, if you're a pizza purist, don't go here. We dined in as a group of 3 and each 3 10" pizzas to share. The wait time was longer than your average pizza joint (40-60 minutes) and at the time of this review, the AC wasn't working so it was very stuffy inside. We got the: 1) holy honey sweet potato, 2) Korean bulgogi, and 3) AAA Smokey steak pizzas. The cheese they use for these pizzas was really tasty and springy. We found 1) to be lacking in flavour, the bulgogi in 2) to be a bit dry, and 3) was our favourite. There were plenty of steak chunks, and they were all tasty and succulent. Visited this brand new restaurant on their grand opening on July 1. Lined up at 11:15am for a 11:30am opening just to bring you the full scoop on this brand new Korean pizza shop. They had a grand opening special, buy 10" sized pizza and get the 13" size instead. Solid. Waited about 17 minutes for my completed order of 4 pizza's and then I was on my way with four boxes of amazing Korean pizza! Brought the pizzas home and wow wow wow! So good. The smell, the flavour, and the many ingredients!! This is the place! I love pizza! I love Korean foods! Purchased four pizzas: Korean bulgogi, Garlic chicken, Signature Shrimbul, AAA Steaky Smoke. The best out of the four in my opinion was the AAA Steaky Smoke, then the Signature Shrimbul, Korean BBQ, then the Garlic Chicken. Would have liked the Signature Shrimbul to have the tails of the shrimp de-shelled, but some folks are ok eating the shrimps with the shell on. I understand the visual of the pizza and the whole shrimp would look better, but can be annoying chewing on shells. Very tasty and satisfying! The wait wasn't too long for two pizzas on a weekday lunch. We ordered the Holy Honey Sweet Potato and Chicken Katsu. I loved the flavors of both. What drew me to the Holy Honey Sweet Potato was the corn and potato, a beautiful combo imo. However the pizza overall felt a little dry, like it could have benefited from more evenly distributed cheese or a good white sauce base. We ended up buying the garlic sauce on the side after we ate our first slices, and the garlic sauce is so bomb, very garlicky and delicious. If that was added to the HHSP, it would be perfect. The Chicken Katsu was a great balance to the HHSP, but sometimes the chicken chunks were difficult to eat because they are like huge chicken tenders laid on aesthetically. Perhaps they could be chopped up and still arranged in a cool way. This stood great on its own in terms of flavor and sauce. Would love to come back. I'm a pizza connoisseur, I've ate so many pizza, one time I had over 35 slices in a week. I truest recommend this place as the pizzas were fantastic. This place is unique and Korean style. There's so many flavours that even pizza pizza can't compete. One thing to note is that it takes time for the staff to get the pizza ready, so make sure to call ahead of time. I've tried the holy honey sweet potato pizza and it was so good. I'm still thinking about it! It's different than typical pizzas that I'm used to. It's sweet and there was so many fillings! Usually I feel not so satisfied with a vegetarian pizza but this pizza was so delicious. There was sweet potato purée as well as actual sweet potato chunks in it. Most importantly there were corn inside too! The crust was also thin and was a nice balance! My friend usually doesn't eat the crust and she also ate it all this time! Overall I think this is a nice pizza spot! The flavours are unique but the store is quite small so you might have to get the pizza to go. For being the only one of its kind in Toronto, it is a pretty unique experience. I will advise to anyone who wants to go that it may take a while to get their order. I think I sat there for over an hour just to get my order. However, they were really nice about it and thanked us for our patience and offered us complimentary drinks. The interior is quite small and offers at most about 12 seats. The pizzas and wings are quite expensive in my opinion but as I mentioned its the only one of its kind in Toronto, so I guess you could argue that you are paying for the experience as well. I also got the spaghetti, which I do not recommend too highly. At most it tasted like jar sauce and nothing too special. It would be more wise spend your money on other items. Had the bulgogi golden crust twice now and loveed it. The fusion of the sweet potato and cheese was such a nice combination and since it's somewhat a heavy duo, I passed out in bliss after two slices. It heats up very well if you're far like me or have leftovers, but I'd recommend eating it right away for the first time (like cmon it's pizza). Tried the different ones on a whim recently and it just wasn't as good. The Shrimbul one tasted a bit lackluster. The crust wasn't thick enough to hold the ingredients too well (ours was mostly potato spammed with paprika on top) and the crown edge was just alright compared to the gold edge. The seafood bay was much better in my opinion if you want shrimp on your pizza and it had a better balance of ingredients. I left it 4 stars cuz that bulgogi golden crust was too good and I would've gave it 5 stars alone if I didn't try the other ones. I think going basic with the gold edge would be a good start as a first timer. Super expensiveeee but if you find one you like, it's a nice treat once in awhile. There's four small tables if you want to dine in just fyi. Parking is a pain since it's located in a super small plaza shared with another restaurant so you'll either have to be lucky or come with someone else.
