This is mostly a review for the service here and will focus less on the pizza itself. Generally, Pizza Nova makes a good pizza and the best of the chain pizzerias.
I did order a tasty pizza here and was satisfied with it.
The service left something to be desired.
Firstly, there were two girls at the counter and the first one was being trained. That is fine and I understand. I respect that people need to be trained. With that said, the trainee was confused and would defer to her trainer in all aspects. I was standing to the side and witnessing the confusion. This would probably have been overcome somewhat if she had been trained during off hours. There was some confusion with my order and others' orders and back and forths. Things were missed and so on.
For my own order, which took longer than average to be ready (I admit I should have called ahead, but it was a spur of the moment thing), I had a feeling that the pizza pulled from the oven and left on top of it may be mine, but trusted the girls and waited in the corner. Lo and behold, the pizza left on top of the oven by a pizza maker was mine and it sat there for 5 minutes until the girl at the cashier decided to look into it.
More importantly, and earlier, ordering was difficult. The girl did not know about my pizza and had me repeat it several times only to say they don't have such a thing. I asked for a menu and they couldn't find one. The specialty pizzas are not on the overhead board. The girl finally procured a paper menu and I pointed to the pizza I wanted. She curiously looked at it and punched it in. In short, the girls at the cash don't know their own menu items either. I am not blaming them much. I think the store manager should train the trainer and the trainer/store manager should train the newer employee during slow times/before opening. read more
