Went on a Thursday night at about 6:30pm for trivia, it was busy, but we were sat right away. The parking lot is in the back with only a couple spots next to the door. The staff was super friendly and attentive the entire night. The menu itself is a bit much, it's very overwhelming since they have so many options. For the food we got the SPINACHOKE DIP for an appetizer. It was not what we expected. It wasn't that big and a lot of it stuck to the bowl. Also there were artichoke hearts in it which neither one of us enjoyed. It came with a loaf of bread to dip it and it was absolutely amazing. I wouldn't recommend getting this though as qe weren't a fan of the dip. For pods I got a SICILIAN STEAK POD the insides were really good and a little bit more spicy than I thought it would be. The dough on the pod was a little thicker than I would like. I ate about half so it is very filling. We also got the MEGACHIPPER for dessert which was good for the price. Was in the canalside area longer than expected and needed to eat; ordered a popeye pod to go. Sat at a table while I waited; table wasn't clean. It was about 3 PM on a weekday; other than 2 people at the bar, there was a family getting ready to leave and no one else. the 15" wait i was told it would be stretched on much longer. I was starting to wish I had gone elsewhere. the box was much larger than necessary, and since I was on my bike, it created a bit of a problem. I expected it would come wrapped like a sub, since the shape is similar. anyway, the pod itself was good, overpriced given that it was mostly dough. what filling there was, tho, was tasty. The tiny cup of tomato sauce (?) was sweetly tomato; couldn't use it. the person who took my order was the only wait staff present, and she disappeared into the back for minutes at a time. My wife and I went there around 3 PM after the doctors The one in Williamsville. We were the only people in there. IT was desolate. We went because I heard the Gluten free Chicken Fingers were very good. When I tried to order the GF Fingers I was told they were unavailable. I asked why -there is no one in here. No answer. We ordered chicken parm. Mine gluten free. I have to say it was terrible . The sauce was lousy and thin. 23:dollars and they then charged an extra 4 dollars for gluten free pasta. The music was so loud I had to ask the waitress to turn down- couldn't even have a conversation. My wife had a small glass of wine at 10 dollars. The food was lousy at best. A waste of 70:dollars. There was practically no one there, despite the fact that a sports game was going on at the stadium a block away. Other bars in the area were packed. They close at 8pm on a Saturday, and their kitchen closes at 7:30pm, which is insane. Food- My boyfriend and I shared a medium pizza. It is NOT a standard medium pizza. Kitchen closed so we left starving. The pizza was sorta mid as well. Taste was okay, it was just nothing to brag about. Price- previously mentioned pizza was $26.99. Absolutely not worth it. Oh my one of my favorite places is the Pizza Plant. I look forward to their pizza pods where I get to pick the dough. I usually pick spinach dough freshly made then add whatever I want in it. I usually get a couple cheeses and a couple vegetables usually one is artichokes with homemade sauce to dip. I usually take home 1/2 of it. My husband picks one with steak and chicken finger pieces in it. Everything is yummy. My sister usually picks their stuffed crust pizza. This pizza is too yummy to even describe. I can't even begin to describe their dessert of 2 of their homemade chocolate chip cookies warmed up with vanilla ice cream melting on it and chocolate syrup drizzled on it. This is making me hungry! Went for dinner with a party of 8 before a Bandits game. Expected it be busy and knew service might be slower. This place could be great if they had more staff I think. Hostess and waitress were great and obviously working their tails off. Place was packed, bar was packed and only one bartender. actually felt bad for them. Beer list is great, Inferno Pod Ale always good. Food was decent, came out very staggered and one person didn't get their meal until everyone else was just about done. First the bartender tried. I ordered a salad and a slice. The salad, though huge, was mainly inedible, extremely wilted, dry, old and some was slimy. No offer to bring a new one which I thank ok to indicate there was no fresh. I see this too often jn restaurants where salad mix is used past its freshness...forget about date. And bad salad is a very very dangerous thing to ingest. No food at any restaurant should be anything but fresh but this took the cake. The slice was okay. It seemed day old with pizza cheese and lacked that gooey delicious mozzarella string you crave, especially with Buffalo, NY pizzas. My partner order the baked chicken fingers. They were okay. However, we both had a very hard time wanting to eat anything else after seeing what passed as acceptable with the salad mix. This is so very disappointing. Born and raised in WNY, I am very familiar with Pizza Plant, but I won't be returning to this location any time soon. We've given them a few chances so far during the past couple of years. Their food lack quality and flavor. They need a major change in their dough recipe! I ordered chicken and eggplant pod, how can an eggplant be so tasteless? The spicy soup was tasty and that is what my star for. Dough is tasteless, no salt no flavor. Also the portion of dough to the cheese/meat and veggie is not right. They should've added more stuff in to the pod. Also the shell is very hard and it is kind of difficult to cut. I had a great time at Pizza Plant. We stopped by at happy hour and shared a fajita pod. Very good, had a little pizazz. They have a nice list of beers (tap and bottles) to pick from. As an extra surprise, someone from Southern Tier Brewing was there with tasters of Nu Skool and some goodies. The bar was pretty busy, including a private party in the bar area. There was some food out, but it was not clear if that was regular happy hour food or part of the private party. Good thing we asked, we would have been party crashers. In the beginning the bartender was not really attentive, he did not offer a refill on my wife's water. He was all by himself first and with the private party starting, he had trouble serving everybody. Later a second bartender showed up and the service improved. This place is a hidden gem. If my son didn't tell me about it, I would have never known it was by Canalside. First time I went with my friend after work since she works downtown and it was easy to go as I picked her up from her job. They have a few drink specials to choose from, but I was really the pods we wanted to try. I tried the chicken pod. It was very full of chicken, onions and seasoning. Second try I had the wingy dingy, a little spice but not over powering. Both times, there was nothing left. So good. Both times servers were ok, not a pain that they were asking every two minutes, but when you needed a refill or your bill they were not around. First time, it was during the week and very slow so not sure why he wasn't around too much. Second time it was before a pre-season sabres game. By luck we picked the right happy hour to stop in. We shared a very good fajita pod. It is a little expensive when compared to buying 2 or 3 slices of pizza, but a nice change, and for sure hot to the last bite because all of the ingredients are inside the pod. The lucky part was that a rep from Southern Tier Brewing Company came in at 5:30 w/ "tasters" of Nu Skool beer; this made my husband very happy. There was a private party also going on. I think some other patrons just assumed it was general happy hour food. My first experience at Pizza Plant Italian Pub wasn't the best and even though I was a little iffy to check out the downtown location I figured they at least deserved that. I came here on Friday night and the place was full of people. I came here with the intention of ordering some pizza and after seeing that they had chicken parm deep dish I was sold......until I saw the meatball pod, then my decision was officially made again. Pizza Plant pretty much just calls calzones pods and it was a decision I did not regret. When it was served to me there as a tiny thing of sauce with it and the waiter was kind enough to provide me with 2 more cups of sauce because sauce is life and I like drowning my pod/calzone with as much sauce as possible. The pod itself was very good and definitely left me very full. The dough was soft and the meat I side was deliciousSomething about the sauce was a little different but not in a bad way or anything, overall it was a delicious pod. Overall, I'm glad I returned to Pizza Plant as this place definitely sold me this time. I really wanted to love it here, I really did. I have heard good things from a few people and as a person who really, truly, deeply loves pizza, it should be amazing to me. But it just wasn't! Came here right after work on a week night, before an event we had tickets to downtown. We were seated inside at a cramped booth and given menus. The menus are so hard to read, they use multiple fonts and crazy colors and everything seems very disorganized. The fillings for the pods aren't even on the same page as the pods and it's very confusing. They had a daily special, any mega pod with three fillings for 8.99. However, they fail to tell you until you get into the details that most of the meat options count as a premium option, meaning two fillings. I ordered the wing ding pod and my husband created his own, with pepperoni, ricotta and pineapple. Mozzarella and a side of marina come included. I also ordered a cocktail, the bourbon cream. The pods arrived and looked impressive. However the insides were not hot, mine was lukewarm and his was cold. They just tasted okay. It wasn't great, it wasn't bad, it was just okay. The highlight of the experience was my cocktail, bourbon cream with root beer. It tasted like a root beer float for grown ups! We probably won't be back, if we do return it'll be with a group who insists on coming here. There are so many great pizza and calzone type places in buffalo. With all of that said, the food left a lot to be desired. The wings were the absolute worst, they were tiny and soggy, not crispy at all and really just a complete letdown. A local place should know better, and honestly I should have known that when the wings only came in single orders (most places have single/double/triple/bucket) that we were going to be severely let down. We ordered a couple of pizzas with good overall flavor/ingredients but they weren't cooked long enough, the crust was soft and just total mush. They offer gluten-free crusts, which is great. And the selection of what you can put on your pizza is very large. I'm hoping for non-dietary restricted persons, this pizza would be a decent enough meal. But the gluten free pizza is pretty rough. It looks very good, but if you try to pick it up, it crumbles instantly. I couldn't even cut it and put it on a fork because it fell apart so terribly. I was disappointed with that.
