Daniela is a neighborhood go-to spot! We recommend it to out of town guests and we call ahead for takeout on nights when we don't feel like "thinking about dinner". My favorite pinsa is the Margherita and my favorite pasta dish is the Carbonara. Their sparkling rose is divine and their gelato is even better. They don't accept reservations, but their wait times are constantly revolving. Perfect little spot for ANY reason or occasion. Enjoy! read more

First of all they don't take reservations. So either get there on the earlier side or be prepared to wait. They have a nice size bar, however they only serve beer, wine and soju cocktails. The wine list is strong. The server was very nice and did not rush us at any point of the meal. Everything was fresh and homemade. Add tenderloin or chicken to any pasta dish for an additional charge. Save room for dessert! read more

Delicious all around. The restaurant is a bit farther from Elmwood than we thought, so we didn't have to wait for a table on a Friday night, but it was still busy enough to be lively. We got the salami and cheese plate (this is how you do a charcuterie plate!), pinsa and pasta to share between 3 people and it was the perfect amount of food, and then some. It was all so good. The dessert (cherry something) was also good. The service was attentive but not overbearing. And the prices were reasonable as well, which is appreciated in times like these. What a delicious dinner at Daniela! I've lived in the neighborhood my whole life, driven past thousands of times, and this was my first time there! We arrived at 4:30pm to beat the dinner rush and had basically a private restaurant. They get BUSY at lunch and dinner and do not take reservations. So, plan arrive to arrive early or be prepared for a wait. What we ordered: Aglio, olio e peperoncino - $21 Penne al pesto - $27 Turkey cranberry panini - $16 Arancini al ragú - $10 Tiramisu - $12 The restaurant is small but not cramped. Had to give them a try been meaning to stop by the entree I had was definitely good no complaints about the meal honestly would i come back probably not and i definitely would recommend especially because it's not pricey. Tagliata di Manza - beef tenderloin in truffle oil, Parmesan and arugula. Great starter. The beef melts in your mouth. So delicious. Fungi e ricola - sautéed shiitake mushroom pizza. Very nice. I liked the crust. Like a delicious Italian bread. Outstanding Italian cuisine. Be prepared to spend a little money. I don't think the place exceeds any particular charm or artistic decor. Simple. But inviting. For a Friday evening, my girlfriend was able to snag a corner table very quickly. They don't take reservations. Street parking was luckily a also breeze. We had a great dinner at Daniela on a Friday night. Because it is first come first served we arrived around 5:30 and were seated right away. There is only street parking but we were able to grab a close spot at this time of night. The restaurant was already fairly busy! Our waitress was great and honest about favorite food selections and service was wonderful. We struggled to make a decision about food and ended up sharing dishes. All of the food was outstanding! Fresh, great flavor, and delicious! We had the eggplant arancini, special beat salad, pesto penne, eggplant burrata penne, and margarita pizza. All were wonderful. The margarita pizza was so flavorful with fresh burrata and basil- I think it's the best margarita pizza I've ever had! The pesto was to die for!! Overall, great experience! Fabulous find! Had a group of 6 and it was worth the wait. Had a drink at the bar while we waited for a table to open up. I love the open layout and everyone enjoyed their meals and appetizers. When I say I could eat here every day I'm not joking. I haven't had artisan pizza this good outside of Italy. The flavors were absolutely amazing. The pistachio cream on top of one of the pizzas we got was so delicious and fresh. The service was outstanding as well, our waiter was attentive and gave suggestions on the menu. The only thing is they do not take reservations, so go early or be prepared to wait. Will definitely be back!! read more

I've been here a handful of times; it's always been my go-to for dinner and drinks with my girlfriends. Most of my experiences here have been positive, so much so that I've recommended it countless times however, last night something was just off. My girlfriend and I went here last night (10/24/2025) around 5/530 PM. The restaurant wasn't super busy yet and there were spots at the bar, so we chose to sit there. I started off with the Italian Espresso Martini, it was so creamy and had a hint of Irish creme. They only serve beer and wine, so I'm always impressed with the creative cocktails the espresso martini is no exception. We then ordered the Mortadella burrata e pistacchio pinsa romana...the crust was light and airy and the topping was unexpected and flavorful. For dinner I ordered the orecchiette alle cime di rapi and my friend got the penne melanzane & burrata. My orecchiette was cooked perfectly and had just the right amount of olive oil and parmigiano. My friend said her dish was fantastic as well! Overall our meals were satisfying, and my plate was left clean. We had already agreed that we were both going to get a dessert and split them so we got the best of both worlds....but this is where our evening took an uncomfortable turn. After dinner we decided to order two more cocktails, we both ordered the spritzer, it's very refreshing and pretty to look at. At this point the bar/restaurant were getting much busier as to be expected on a Friday night of course. There were two people primarily behind the bar and in the beginning, they were both pleasant, asking us how our food was and making small talk. This is what my friends and I love about Daniela, its small and intimate and the staff made us feel like we were regulars in the past. Friday night towards the end of our time there the only feeling I had was that I was not welcome. after our dinner plates were cleared we still had our cocktails to finish and as stated above we planned on ordering two desserts to share. When our drinks were empty we waited for the bartenders to make their rounds. Well they made their rounds to the left (clearing these guests plates and glasses and wiping down the bar for them), to the right (again clearing their glasses and taking a food order) and then even to the people standing BEHIND us at the bar. I don't like waving down bartenders/servers especially when they are visibly busy and having been in the industry myself I know when you see an empty glass it's an opportunity to offer the guest something else, it is after all a business. So we patiently waited...and waited...and waited. For almost 24 minutes we sat at the bar with empty glasses in front of us and two dirty napkins that hadn't been cleared from dinner while the bartenders took care of the guests around us... there were a total of 12 people sitting at the bar. Now I am fully aware that the bartenders are most likely also making drinks for the rest of the restaurant but to be passed by multiple times while the people around us were taken care of felt weird. At this point we no longer wanted another cocktail or the desserts we ordered we wanted to pay our check and leave. I pulled my credit card out and after ten minutes I finally had to ask for our check. I said excuse me and asked for our check, the bartender snapped and said well did you have a tab started? I told them no one ever took my credit card and there had been more than one person that took a drink/food order from us and i didn't know. The bartender again snaps and says well who took care of you, I explained that three different people (that person included) had served us and I didn't know who would've started the tab. They shook their head and walked away. I couldn't believe it. We spent over $200 and were planning on spending more and I felt like I was being scolded because I didn't know who created our check. When we left, I handed the book with the receipts back to the bartender, not a thank you or even a smile. I was so disappointed when I left. I just could not believe the poor service we received at the end of the night. Had they wanted us to leave because we were sitting at the bar too long or something else, I wish they would've just asked instead of making me feel like I just wasn't welcome there. I'm going to be taking a break from going here and I don't think I will recommend them moving forward. Which is really, really sad because the food is excellent. read more

Pre-Ordered takeout which was ready right when they opened. Started with the arancini (ragu) and the Quatro Formaggi pizza. The arancini (1pc) is what i'd consider a very standard, albeit large, arancini. The pizza was crispy, cheesy, and light. We tried three different pasta dishes, Pomodoro e Crema, Penne Melanzane & Burrata, and the Aglio Olio e Peperoncino. The pomodoro and penne were both great - the sauce was incredible, great for dipping the bread, pizza, arancini, etc. The Aglio was okay, exactly what i would expect - just not my favorite pasta dish, in general. Went with my friend on a Friday night. They don't take reservations, which can lead to a bit of a wait. That's because the space is very intimate and homey. The hostess was very friendly and told us right away that we could sit at the bar while we waited for a table to open up. We didn't want to drink anything on an empty stomach, so we asked the bartender about mocktails. He seemed a little irritated by the request, but totally understand, since those are cheaper drinks and also not on the menu. What he ended up making was delicious- and only $5 a piece. Shout-out to him for accommodating our special request. Our table was ready in about 20 minutes, which was well worth the wait. We started off with a bread platter- it had garlic bread and focaccia, with AMAZING dips (I think they were chili oil, pesto, and balsamic vinegar). I don't think it's on the menu, but they definitely should put it on. We both ended up getting pasta- I got the pesto which was delicious! Loved this cozy Italian restaurant right across from the Richardson campus! They don't take reservations so unfortunately on a Friday night we had to be seated at a table with strangers (there were some seats between us but it still was a little awkward) but we were happy that we could be seated right away. This is my second time at Daniela. Often restaurants are categorized as casual or formal and this is a great in between. We got a bottle of Cab Sauv which was resonably priced and a great selection. Often, I don't think appetizers are worth it - but the caramelized onion dip was SO good and it comes with a very hefty portion. I got the harvest grain salad which I would/could eat every day for the rest of my life. It's so light but equally hearty. The 'Nduja Melanzane came with a nice spicy salami spread, fresh eggplant and basil and was a perfect size to take home some leftovers. My dinner companions also raved about the carbonara and the portabello and red pepper panini. The nutella brownie was very big and dense, but, it just didn't wow us. I would have opted for the clementine cake next time. It's great for dinner, but, also, seems like a nice place to swing in for lunch if you have a chance! read more

Had a lovely dinner here with a friend. The vegan pinsa (Roman style pizza) was fantastic. I greatly appreciate that it's not just veggies on crust. The vegetables on it are perfect. They're thin and don't make the curse soggy despite have high water content (zucchini, eggplant, tomato...). It's the exact right amount of vegetables for the crust. Speaking of the crust, it's light and chewy with nice burnt bubbles - everything you want in a wood-fired pizza. The star, however, is the thin layer of spicy crema which pulls the whole thing together as a cohesive dish. It's really a very thoughtful and delicious vegan option. So often vegan options feel like a compromise - you have to leave something off or accept that it won't be at the same level as other dishes on the menu, but that's not the case here. Great for a date or a small group of friends. The place was packed by 6pm on Thursday with a 40 minute wait, so consider coming a bit earlier or getting take out. The leftovers were great so I'm sure the take away travels well. Even after the pizza cooled off, the crust was still on point. Our server was Ivy, a sweet young woman who sped around her section and had perfect spacing between check-ins. We ordered a la Fiore mocktail, a salumi e formaggi, the pear field green salad, a penne melanzane e burrata, and a tiramisu (which we ordered to go). Everything was splendid with rich local flavors and beautiful plating. Everything came out one after the other so there was hardly a moment to rest with the food, so if you plan on ordering a lot of things I would recommend spacing them a bit more when ordering (we ordered everything at once). We were excited about trying this place. We weren't disappointed at first. Friendly and nice menu. However, in our salad was a huge piece of paper. The kind you put under flatbread pizza. We know things happen and the waiter Allen apologized, but then wasn't overly concerned. He provided a free pint as restitution.... big deal. Should I have made a bigger deal out of this? I came with 4 other friends and there was a bit of a wait for a larger table. The menu is pretty interesting. Other than the Margherita pizza, my friends and I had to look everything up. We started out with the Capricciosa pizza which consisted of tomato sauce, artichoke, olive, ham, sautéed shiitake, & mozzarella. It was definitely interesting. I don't really care for ham, olives, or artichoke so I didn't like it. For my entree, I ordered the Aglio, Olio e Peperoncino. For an additional $10, you can get chicken or $14 for beef tenderloin. My pasta was delicious and was full of flavor. The breadcrumbs was a nice touch, and there was a kick to it. For dessert, I got the nutella brownie and it was super rich. Ambiance is casual. LOVE LOVE LOVE Daniela's. Definitely gets busy for dinner, especially on weekends. We only waited about 10 minutes before we were sat but there was quite a line at 7pm when we left. We ordered 2 espresso martinis (turns out they don't have liquor which is fine because it was an impulsive order anyway). 2 apps, a pizza and pasta dish, 2 wines and a dessert for $142, pre tip. For all that we were happy for that! The staff was awesome, my favorite item was the Arancini - absolutely incredible. Daniela is simple but well done. My only wish is they had more vegetables or *stuff* in their pastas. It's pretty much pasta, cheese and sauce. Meat is add on. read more

Now that we no longer live in Elmwood Village, it's been extra tough to get there since they don't take reservations and we don't like to have to wait around for a table. Last weekend we happen to be in the area and starving. It was 1:30pm and hubby felt underdressed for Roost (our usual downtown brunch spot) so we figured we'd finally check out Daniela. The hostess was not very friendly and told me it was going to be a 30min wait. I then asked about the bar cause I saw people getting up to leave and she said it's first come first serve. I feel like she should have offered up that info without me asking but ok. I rush over to claim the empty spots as I wait for the hubby to park. There were two servers circulating the bar area but in the 20min we sat there - neither even looked our way (even though we both quietly and patiently stared at them the entire time hoping to make eye contact) let alone clean up the dirty mess the previous patrons left. Finally, I called out and asked for menus, then it was another 10min of the same game until I called out again and asked if we could order. After that, they finally took away the dirty dishes and glasses on the car but still never wiped it down, so we used the menus to push all the food debris and crumbs away. At this point they were at a one star in my mind. I honestly would have left after the first 15min if we weren't starving and it might have taken longer to figure out where to go next and find parking all over again. Luckily for them, the food redeemed 2 stars back. The grilled cheese focaccia with tomato and bacon was really good, and the carbonara was excellent. The pizza, however, was a no. It's not something we would order again if we do return. Tbh, it's unlikely we will return. Between the no reservation, street parking which can be hard to find, and the non-existent service - it's just not a place I'd be rushing to get back to. The pasta was our favorite and truly fantastic, but it's just not worth all the hassle for us, especially when there are so many other good restaurants in the Buffalo area. read more
