Disney seems to have upped their culinary game in recent years, and we noticed that at Pizzafari! This is our favorite quick service dining option in Animal Kingdom mainly because it has a large amount of indoor seating. The decor has an African feel with bright colors and ample seating. Use the app to order, and you will definitely save time. Their pizzas now come with a choice of sides- we tried a Caesar salad and a cheesy bread as sides with our pepperoni and meat pizzas. We also had their two cocktails- one of which included gummy worms! Everything was actually delicious, and we both noticed improvements over years past. The pizzas had a wonderful bubbly crust and a perfect balance of cheese, sauce, and toppings. The cocktails were refreshing and surprisingly strong. It is fairly large, very colorful and air conditioned inside. This is going to be an unpopular opinion, but I actually enjoy this location and their food. This is not a place we eat all the time; I do believe there are better locations for food that we enjoy but it is not a bad spot if you feel like something simple such as pizza. I would recommend using the mobile app on my Disney Experience to order food. You can play your order ahead of time, chose your return window, grab a seat inside and when your order is ready, head up to the counter to pick up your food. We visited recently with some friends, and we all enjoyed our meals. My husband ordered a pepperoni and sausage pizza which came with a Ceasar salad. He enjoyed it. It's a round pizza and the same pizza you can locate around Disney. It is a thicker style crust, almost like a personal pan pizza. I prefer to order the kids pizza, which is the same but smaller. It comes with 2 sides (cutie orange, apple slices or chocolate chip cookie) and a small fountain drink. I chose just the cheese pizza. For some reason I also prefer these Disney pizzas dipped in ranch. You have to ask for it on the side. They also offer alcoholic beverages such as beer, wine and a couple of cocktails. We chose the Blue Lagoon: Parrot Bay Coconut Rum, Minute Maid Lemonade, Citrus, and Gummy Worms. This was good, very fruity, sweet but not super heavy with alcohol. For fast casual, this was pretty convenient, by theme park standards. We walked here from another section due to that section not having anything on the kids menus that my kids would eat. So in that respect, having pizza available in a fairly central location is also convenient. I ordered ahead of time on the Disney app, before we began walking to the next section, and it was ready when we arrived. The indoor dining room is fine, nothing amazing, but there was plenty of room and it was clean. My son didn't like his kids pizza, so I asked if we could get mac n cheese instead and they gave this to me with no charge, which saved a very cranky moment. Thank you, Disney employees! First time dining here. I was greeted by two cast members before greeted by a third, Blake from NC, who would take my order. It was 2:40pm so we were able to have great conversation about the runDisney 10K race this morning. When other guests started to arrive we switched to ordering. Blake called for a supervisor to consult during the ordering process since I requested gluten free crust. I ordered a 'custom' gluten free pizza with the help of Melissa and Blake. The custom order was easy and Melissa provided information like it's a cauliflower crust and let me know the croutons were also gluten free from the same GF pizza dough. Blake handed over my receipt and asked me to return in 10mins for my order. Since it wasn't prime time dining, I had plenty of clean table options. I decided to sit outside because it weather is extremely pleasant. There is a landscape barrier between the outdoor seating and guest walkways. There is lovely instrumental holiday music playing, in more of an African style. The GF pizza is DELICIOUS. Crust and dough is wonderfully chewy and soft, unlike most overly crunchy GF dough. i said it once and i'll say it again, the quick service food at disney is a pass 99% of the time. the restaurants are the move. with that being said, the pizza wasn't awful. i actually liked the flavor of the crust quite a bit. the cheese was alright. don't even know if this could be considered pepperoni pizza considering there were only three pepperonis on each. the kids meals came with a side and a drink. the salad was mostly lettuce and the sauce came in a pouch (to be expected with quick service good). not a single thing was impressive, but also not incredible. my seven year old nephew liked the meal a lot which tells you all you need to know. read more

The food like most theme park foods is solid. The pizza is a decent size and pretty filling and isn't that bad. So it's pretty enjoyable. I will give the staff here credit on our last visit. They were wonderful. They seen my 2 and 7 year old sitting down and relaxing and came and interacted with them and gave them a chocolate chip cookie saying it was a "treat directly From Mickey". So you love to see that type of service in large theme parks. Helps make the magical experience for the little ones a bit more magical. Theme park food is known to be mediocre, right? Well, I can honestly say that Disney got it right with Pizzafari! At the moment, I am following a vegan regimen due to religious purposes and I was stressing out about my food options during our visit to Disney's Animal Kingdom. Disney has their guests covered! All vegan items available throughout the park are easily identifiable by a green leaf symbol next to it on the menus! It states that these items are free of dairy, animal by products or meat. Another option that has become available at most quick service locations in the parks is mobile ordering. Some of these locations can get extremely busy throughout the day, so Disney has made it possible to bypass these long lines by having this option available! Now, to the food. The pizza is the Sicilian Style pizza. The pies served here are personal pan pizzas, but the Sicilian is a slice. This by no means it is not filling! The slice itself is about the size of a personal pan pizza. It has vegan cheese, vegan sausage and peppers. If you like spicy foods, the pizza packs some heat! It was delicious and filling. The crust tasted like Cuban bread to me. Even if I was not following a vegan regimen, I would definitely go back for this pizza! It comes with a garden side salad drizzled in a balsamic vinaigrette. We passed Pizzafari several times throughout the day but we had recently eaten pizza and weren't interested. As I mentioned most restaurants are closed so we decided to eat here. I already knew I was not eating pizza so I went with a chicken Caesar salad. The chicken was very flavorful, however the lettuce was not good. I may have eaten half the lettuce on my plate and the rest went in the garbage. Alright, alright, alright. A few years down the road and it's time for an update. Since our last visit a few things have changed here. The first change is that Disney did away with the dessert for table service meals which is no big loss as the cheesecake in a cup they served here prior was miserable. Like wet beach sand in a cup. Yum! They've moved on to cupcakes and cannoli cakes which might be alright but I'll have to use my imagination. Next is that they have a family style dining option. It's only available for three or four hours in the evening and if that's not your thing don't worry as regular counter service is always an option. We came about thirty minutes after they opened and of course the place was totally empty. Up to the register, placed the order, scanned the band, walked to the delivery point and the food was there within two minutes. This stuff is made en bulk assembly line style so it does come out in a hurry even when things get busy. What can I say about the food. The accompanying side cesar salad came out with romaine that was as white as the dressing it was swimming in. It looked like someone took out a mafia hit on the romaine and it was swimming face down in a river. The pizza is passable but nothing special and the large size drinks that a DDP meals comes with are entirely too large. My daughter asked me if they came with catheters and a hand held pouch so that you wouldn't spend the next three hours in the bathroom. Nice. This place still looks good but the food is very average and honestly it's a waste in park like AK where they are so many other choices both better in quality and far more adventurous in terms of palate expanding. Also, for any of our allergy mom, DO NOT go here. I asked to talk with a manager/chef who can discuss food allergies with us and she made us felt rushed. Her answers included "I believe they do not contain....". You should not answer like this as a food staff who deals with foods for the customers. When it comes to dining at any of the Disney theme parks, it can be a tantamount task in choosing which place is the right place to dine in. The choices alone will have your head spinning. However, there are some places in any of the parks that are a "safe bet" in dining. In Disney's Animal Kingdom, one of those "safe bets" is Pizzafari. For what they provide, it is easily one of the better choices for food. Pizzafari (a hodgepodge title consisting of "pizza" and "safari") is located on the west side of Discovery Island, the main island that has the iconic Tree of Life in the center. Just like all Disney restaurants, it is continuously maintained for a somewhat endless rotation of hungry patrons entering and mostly satisfied patrons leaving. The decor is on the verge of being tacky but it fits as it is in Disney. The bright colors, especially the greens, pop out as it has a safari theme. The dining room is just big enough to house just enough diners without being either overly crowded or having too much space. As for the food, you really can't go wrong with pizza. Each pizza dish is personal size and you can either get sausage and cheese, pepperoni and cheese, or vegetarian. All pizzas also comes with a small side salad. With my order, I made sure to get the lemonade too. I can't complain as the food was very delicious. I would say that anywhere else, the prices are too high, but these same prices are somewhat expected when dining in a theme park restaurant. read more

Honestly, this is overpriced, mediocre food... which is par for the course in a theme park, sadly. But I promise there's a reason I'm giving it 3 stars. My friends and I came here for the family-style dining reservation. It's a pretty confusing process that isn't very well explained. You check in at the hostess stand. She gives you a table number, then you walk up to the counter register to pay for your meal ahead of time and wait for the beverage you ordered (which is included in the $20 cost) as well as the Caesar and caprese salads. You bring your drinks to the dining room area where you are shown to your table, and you can dig in to the salads. Soon, you're brought the rest of the options: baked ziti, chicken alfredo, pepperoni pizza and mini cannolis. You'll get plenty of food... it just won't be all that good. Hands down, the best thing is the caprese salad... and because I love mozzarella, I asked for more and they happily brought it. So here's why it's 3 stars: you can get as much of any of the items as you want. Want to gorge yourself on caprese? Have at it. Love the ziti? Keep it coming. Want cheese pizza instead of pepperoni? They'll bring that for you. So the food itself: the Caesar salad is run of the mill. It was decent for sure. The ziti was actually okay as well. The chicken alfredo was bland, and the pizza was AWFUL. The mini cannolis were pretty good though. You can feed a small army with all of this food - and they have to-go boxes as well. We could've gotten a whole pizza to go if we wanted (we didn't because, again, the pizza at Pizzafari is terrible). I've had worse -- and more expensive -- meals in the parks (looking at you, Tusker House). Basically, figure out which items you like and keep asking for more of that. The servers are happy to do it. It was nice to have some veggies and greens in the middle of our trip. The Caesar salad was kind of overdressed, but it was ok. The pizza was just average. And for a party of two, though it didn't look like it at first, we couldn't finish what they brought us. What they bring you is a pepperoni pizza, rigatoni, and mac n' cheese (but 'Disney-style' not out of a box, okay?) All of it was served hot and it was good, though not as flavorful as you would expect. Still, we ate as much as we could and we enjoyed it. Oh, I forgot to mention, they also bring out five small cannolis which were really good. What disappointment slightly was the wait for paying and getting your drinks and salads - way too long for something so simple to shoot out the counter. However, the wait staff more than made up for this as they were super friendly, helpful, and kept a check on us to make sure all was good. I can't say enough, it was definitely the best experience I've had in quite some time at a Disney park restaurant. We were on the dining plan and made reservations for the new "family style dining." It only costs one quick service per person. You walk into a very clean, airy and colorful space - check in at the family service counter and they send you to a counter to pay and then give you a number while you are taken to a reserved area to eat and the food is brought to you. It is a lot of food. They bring a caprese and a Caesar salad to start you out, along with your choice of beverage. The dining plan now allows one alcoholic beverage per adult (when Uncle Walt is buying - moderation is encouraged ;-) and they have a nice beer selection along with Coke products. The salads were well chilled and very refreshing on a hot day. After just a little bit, the server then brings out your entrees; baked ziti, chicken alfredo and a large pizza. Ours also brought out dessert (5 cannolis) at the same time. Nothing is outstanding but nothing is bad either. The Alfredo had a nice amount of chicken and a creamy sauce but tasted like the frozen kind you throw in the oven. The baked ziti was very similar. The amount of cheese was nice but the sauce was a little sweet for me. The pizza, though, was very good. The dough was a nice thickness and the toppings were of good quality and it wasn't too greasy. The cannoli were delicious and just the right dessert after a heavy meal. The real world price for the family style meal seems a bit high ($19.95 per adult) but for a quick service credit, it is a great value. I so was excited to try the Plant-based Sicilian Style Slice so we didn't make any other lunch plans for the day. I had already tried mobile ordering through the MyDisney Experience App and figured since it was available here, it would be worth it to place an order ahead of time while we were walking there from Pandora. I'm really glad I did because we had a Fast Pass scheduled for shortly after and the line to order was absolutely insane since this is a Quick Service. We walked inside to the area where mobile orders are picked up and I swear the girl they had in charge there was the most inefficient employee ever; which I have found is pretty typical of the employee scheduled to work the mobile order lines for some reason. We probably ended up waiting just as long to order and literally all we order was one slice of pizza. It comes with the smallest salad ever that had maybe a teaspoon of dressing on. The pizza itself was very dry and not very filling. Since it's vegan, they use some sort of dairy-free cheese but it was so sparring that I could barely tell it was supposed to be on the pizza. We left hungry and surly didn't want to wait to order another slice. Luckily it's Disney and there's no shortage of goodies try. Finally I am impressed and it took a pizza joint to do it. Thinking we'd have to wait forever to get food anywhere in the park since it was soooo over crowded, this restaurant was great. I found a table hubby and the boys went to get the food. This place does not have waiters it's kind of cafeteria style. Amazingly it took only about 15 minutes to get our lunch. We all had an individual pizza that came with a tiny salad. Drinks were bought separately. Pizza was great, quite tasty, a pleasant surprise. Salad was ho-hum but we were ravenous so ate it all. A nice Diet Coke to go with it, a great lunch. Definitely would recommend this place if you're going to AK. Cost was $60 ish for 4 of us. Not too bad considering Disney prices. read more

The ironically named Pizzafari (there's no pizza on the menu) has pretty good garlic knots. I recommend them if you're in need of a quick snack that will hold you for awhile. The flatbreads look good, so I'll probably try them next time. read more
