The pizza was so good we were all like , yea this beats any place we've been too outside of so do square and that's a good tie for first place. So right from the start walking up to the counter we were greeted by a girl who just seemed blatantly entitled from the start as we ordered a very simple two pizzas to go one pepperoni and onion and one vodka sauce it was then that the girl who hadn't said more than two words to me says is that all and I said yes but thankfully I noticed on the screen she gave me one with hot honey on it and was charging me for it I told her I didn't want that and she said well you told me you wanted hot honey it was then the other person with me said that I never said that and the girl caught even more of an attitude knowing someone else knew she was in the wrong like I'm not sure what her problem was but learn how to be nice to someone who's actually being nice to you and that's coming from someone who's worked in the retail and hospitality sector for a very long time as I could have been rude back but that solves nothing! After dealing with her we waited for our pizza and after it was done we went to get it and then upon opening it we discovered that they must be on a onion budget because there was a few pieces of it on our pie with more than half of it lacking one of the toppings we had paid an extra few dollars for not wanting to deal with her attitude again we just ate it. Of the two pizzas the vodka sauce one was the better of the two but the pizza itself felt like it lacked a good amount of vodka sauce leaving one to eat just what it had on top of it, with the pepperoni one being about the same but with the missing onions. Either way I feel as if our whole group just felt as if we weren't wanted here as our pizzas were lacking what they were supposed to have and the encounter left us feeling like this was done intentionally to us for correcting one entitled cashier who likes to argue, needless to say I wouldn't come back here again. read more

Delicious! Pizza was so yummy we dug in instantly and totally forgot to take any photos! We ordered a half and half specialty pizza with half eggplant pizza and half vodka burrata pizza. It was a huge pizza - 4 slices of each kind of pizza. Both kinds were delicious but I absolutely loved the eggplant pizza! I will definitely get that again! This is it the best pizza Brooklyn spot anywhere within 50 miles, I ordered the standard review combo which would be a cheese slice a pepperoni slice and a margarita slice and they executed perfectly on all levels, service was great the Asian girl cook was nice and delivered accurately even though I hadn't said a thing. The undercarriage is beautiful too the sauce is a little sweet just like a nyc slice, they serve beer too which makes the pizza taste even better, it's a bit pricy about 5$ a slice but It's worth it 100%. read more

Wish I had grabbed some pictures, but this was a quick stop on our way out of Orlando on the way to Tampa, and so glad we did! If you could transport a traditional pizza parlor out of Manhattan, Brooklyn, or Queens and drop it in Orlando, this would be the spot. I can't be sure, but it felt family-owned by multiple generations of guys working behind the counter, taking pride and care in the pies they were making. It almost was like a pizza ice cream parlor in this fact that their slices were on display behind a glass counter and were impossible to choose. The dining area was larger than it looked in this strip mall setting, and the bathrooms were clean, as were all the tables, making it feel more like a restaurant than a quick slice shop. The sliced portions were generous, and the selection ranged from traditional slices, such as meat lovers, veggie, to more exotic Neapolitan and a vodka sauce-inspired slice that they were proud to have me try. We also ordered a Caesar salad that had a great taste and crisp lettuce, which is a must! At the end of the day, Sal's Pizza Bar was a great find. Was recommended this place by multiple friends and as my husband is a big pizza lover, we decided to check it out. Location is good, easy to access from I-4. Very small interior so we decided to take our order to go. Probably took about 15-20 minutes to get our pizza and garlic knots. Got the Sweet Thai Chili pizza as we are lovers of this flavor and it was so fun & different. Lots of chicken and tons of sauce. Tbh I think I'd prefer the sauce as the base and could ditch the marinara completely since it doesn't add anything. But's a great pizza! The garlic knots were nothing to write home about. Stopped in for dinner after visiting Walt Disney World. Ordered the 6 garlic knots to start since they said it would be about 30 minutes for the pizza. The knots had plenty of garlic, but could have been warmer. Ordered the meat lovers pizza, which is a medium. The pizza has bacon, pepperoni and sausage slices (lengthwise). The flavor was good and the pepperoni has some spice. I would have liked it cooked a little longer. But, since it was my first time dining, did not know to ask. The dining area was packed. I think we found one of our new pizza spots in Orlando! Sal's is in a new-feeling plaza, a smaller building but still a good amount of seating, both indoor and outdoor. We wanted to try a few things, so we started with the garlic knots and a slice of vodka pizza! The garlic knots had a lot of garlic on them (the best way to be) and were cute and small! The vodka slice was a big hit - I'm not normally a huge vodka slice gal, but it was really great! The cheese was so fresh and the crust was a perfect texture. The 2 full size pizzas we got were great as well; the pepperoni and hot honey was classic and the prosciutto and arugula pizza had a good mix of ingredients without being all arugula. So I stroll into Sal's Pizza Bar in Orlando because apparently every local within a 10-mile radius has decided it is their personal mission to tell me, "YOU HAVE TO TRY THE UPSIDE-DOWN SICILIAN." Right away, the staff is super friendly--like, "if you need anything, even emotional support, we got you" friendly. The menu is enormous. I'm convinced Sal printed it on a scroll somewhere in the back and they just keep adding items like it's a medieval prophecy. The atmosphere screams Brooklyn comes to Orlando in a pizza place. Nice. The food: First up: the classic cheese slice. Thin crust, nice flop, enough oil sliding down my arm to moisturize me for the next three days. This is the kind of slice where you instinctively fold it even if you're not from New York. The only issue? It wasn't hot. It was the temperature of pizza that's been sitting in a conversation too long. Tasty--but it had "warming tray trust issues." Then the upside-down Sicilian arrives. Cheese on the bottom, sauce on top. Basically a Sicilian slice that wanted to cosplay as Chicago deep dish but didn't want to fully commit. Thick, bready, saucy, the kind of slice that could double as a self-defense weapon if needed. Flavor? Really good. Hotness level? Eh... more "warm hug" than "fresh out of the oven." Overall, Sal's is a cool spot. Tons of options, great people, solid pizza. But the hype had me expecting a spiritual awakening. I was ready for a slice to float down from the ceiling while an Italian grandmother whispered blessings in the background. We walk in and the place is poppin', the case is filled with deliciousness and I felt like a kid in a candy shop... but even better, a pizza shop! My old favorite New York style pizza restaurant from the time I was a kid--Pisa Pizza--recently closed, and my family was devastated. Coming "back home" to visit my family this month, I searched for the best NY pizza in Orlando and up came Sal's Pizza Bar. We decided to stop in yesterday for lunch, and opened the doors to a casual, comfortable ambiance. We approached the counter where we were met by a sweet staff member and ordered a few things to share. We got a house salad with Italian dressing, a penne alla vodka pasta, and a NY cheese pizza (18" round). The salad was crisp and refreshing, perfect for a warm summer late afternoon. The pasta was creamy and tasty, and was super saucy which I love. The main attraction, our classic pizza, affectionately known in NY as an "orange slice" was absolutely perfect. The crust held up so nicely and didn't flop... the cheese was salty and delicious... the sauce was light and savory... and the oil dripping off made it feel that much more authentic. We loved everything, and felt our already high expectations were somehow exceeded. We will definitely be back to try more! read more

I was driving around starving and in the mood for something cheesy. We came across Sal's Pizza bar as one of the restaurants with best yelp reviews in the area. We decided to stop by for a quick bite & refreshing drink while spending a fun day of shopping. We got our order started with a nice cold San Pellegrino sparkling water & a nice cold draft Peroni. We ordered a slice of cheese pizza and another dish, which I'm not sure of the name, but it kind of looked like a croissant stuffed with cheese and Parmesan chicken. The chicken dish was the best one. It came with a side sauce of marinara which we were told was made in house daily. There are some nice looking boxes with assortment of cookies you can purchase to go! Plenty of indoor space, and a nice sunny/shadded outdoor seating area. I had the chicken parm and the sauce, this hurts me to say, was watery. The sauce didn't even stick to the pasta. The sauce didn't have much flavor. We're in Polk county so that tells you how much we love it. This last time we went we got an upside down pizza, a penne alla vodka pizza & a spinach roll & chicken roll. Everything delicious as always. The service is always very fast and easy going.
