Horrible Sunday dining experience! I have noticed the reviews for Pizzafarro's which seemed enjoyable. Based on the reviews of their pizza, I was certain other menu selections would be as delicious. Unfortunately, this was the furthest from possible. Upon arrival we were greeted by a lovely young lady. We were seated and began our dinner selection. As an Italian lover, I decided I would order the Chicken Parmesan while my dining partner ordered the Spaghetti Special. Salad or Italian coleslaw was offered with both meals. I opted for an Antipasti as my dining partner had the coleslaw. The Antipasti was a very basic deli meat small slice of pepperoni, salami and olives over crisp lettuce. The meals arrived to our table 30 minutes after ordering. We did not mind the time delay as we were able to sip tea and chat over our day. Once both plates were served, we were excited to try our newly found bistro in our area. Wowzers were we in for a shock. After being utterly underwhelmed from the over cooked and cold pasta, the obviously canned sauce without seasoning and the wet and mushy microwave frozen dinner style chicken patty. While attempting to keep the bites we had eaten down, we were unable to swallow another bite of our meals. I honestly can not understand how pasta could go so wrong. We paid for our meals, kindly tipped and thanked our waitress who was super sweet by the way. This place needs a visit from Gordon Ramsay. I hope your experience there will be much better than ours. Don, the owner, is awesome and they make a really yummy pizza. Everything is really fresh, the sausage was fantastic...and everything about it was great. It is a throwback to years gone by, but the staff is great and we can't say enough about how great Don was for years to our rescue dog that would come by and just stare in his windows for a treat. Don has a heart of gold for Goldens so he has a special place in our hearts as well. read more

Not only is the pizza bad and service slow, but make sure you don't drop anything of value or the staff will steal it. I dropped my iPhone 7+ getting out of my car to visit Cafe Bink next door. One of Pizzafaro's employees picked it up and kept it. I had to go to the back door of the restaurant where I found my phone in the employees hands. The owner laughed at my wife when she complained. We just relocated from Ohio to AZ and have been looking for a good pizza place. We found Pizzafarro and have had it one time. It has been the pizza in the area that we have found. However, they are not very customer friendly. The first time to get carryout, I had to drive there to put my order in because they had taken their phone off the hook. I placed my order and was told it would be 40 minutes. I drove home and then back again. The pizza was great. I just called them at 4 PM to place a carryout order to be picked up at 6 PM and was told by the young lady that they don't take call ahead orders. I explained what happened the last time and asked if I would have that issue again. The young lady said if they got busy, they would take the phone off the hook again and I would have to go through the same hoops again. Not very customer friendly, but I will go back because I haven't been able to find any better pizza anywhere in the area. read more

Our favorite spot for the best thin crust pizza in the area! We go often, even during these COVID 19 times...they do a great job on both food and safety and their prices are very reasonable. This place was my go to pizza place once or twice a week in the 90's. Then they closed their restaurants that were close. I thought they went out of business until I learned last year that they still have a place in Carefree. I've been driving up there a few times a month since and it is really worth it. This is a tried deep dish and their dough is indescribably incredible. I just wish they would reopen the Scottsdale location again. read more

Excellent pizza. I'm kinda a pizza snob having grown up on the east coast with frequent trips to NYC. Its as good as some of the spots in NYC and even Rome. It definitely hit the spot. This is a small, family owned Italian restaurant that offers exceptionally good food in an unpretentious atmosphere. The ingredients are fresh and the pizza and other dishes are hand made. We are happy to drive the 12 miles round trip for pizza takeout about once a week. My wife and I love exploring the Valley's eateries, and this is one of our favorites. read more

What do you get when you mate an old folks home and a pizzeria---Pizzafarro's. If any of you have a 90 year old Aunt Gladys she won't step a foot out the door unless you're taking her to Pizzafarro. The decor is old fashioned, stained carpeting, old waitresses. I'm too young to die, please take me to Pomo! The pizza isn't horrendous but it isn't wonderful either. Think of Barros pizza on a bad night, put in an empty septuagenarian hang out and you have Pizzafarro's. The salads are one step above airline salads with the small plastic container of "Italian Dressing." I don't mean to be so cruel, but honestly I don't see why people go here when you can go to Pomo, Andreoli as gold medalists and Bosco as the bronze. After moving from Milwaukee and being spoiled by great pizza we searched for years for a true pizza parlor (not the yuppy joints) here in AZ that could come close which none did until PizzaFarro's. This is truly "excellent" pizza, we love "the works with original crust". This place has what it takes; the basics that have to be good for me are the crust, sauce, and cheese, then load it up from their (love the sausage too). Many places are hit or miss with different kids making your pizza every time, but not here - I always see the owner (an older gentlemen) behind the glass making each one per his recipe to perfection. In my opinion, wonderful pizza. My favorite is spinach and artichoke, cut in squares. I take the leftovers home and freeze them for future "fast food". Call about 2 minutes before you plan to be there and order your pizza over the phone. When you arrive have a Stella Artois beer in a frosted beer mug with your pizza and you'll be very happy. Yes, the place looks a little tired, yes they've been around for years and have scaled down from several restaurants in the valley to this one. But the pizza is especially delicious, no matter what any one says. I've continued to eat their pizza for 25 years. This couple has chosen to spend their retirement years continuing to supply us with delicious pizza. Thank you for every bite! read more

Great Pizza, well worth a try for anyone that enjoys a good Chicago style Pizza! Friendly place with moderate décor. One thing, we like going out to eat with other couples and always request separate checks, this way we have the convenience of each couple ordering what they want and not worrying about splitting the tap. We ordered their spaghetti with meat sauce and meatballs. We picked up the order to take home. When we got home. the spaghetti had NO meat sauce and NO meatballs. We called to complain, but they did not seem to care. We lived too far to return. This is the second time they have done this to us in a year. We'll never order from them again. I crave this pizza. Get the thin crust and load it up with toppings. Not a fancy place but definitely friendly and very accommodating. I see couples in here on dates and entire extended families with grandpas and babies and everyone in between. There is not one nice thing I can say about this place. And, I'm trying to think of one...believe me. We went for dinner last night, and were there early. There were only two other tables in the whole place. We ordered buffalo wings, which came out fried with spice on them, but no sauce whatsoever. We asked for buffalo sauce, as noted in the menu, and the server shrugged and said they didn't have any. Um, OK. 50 minutes went by from the time we ordered, and our entrees came. DH had a meatball sub, I ordered chicken parm. My chicken parm was cold. It was cooked through, but had been prepared far earlier than it was served, and had been nuked. His sub was blazing hot. We both felt the kitchen screwed up, as waiting 50 minutes with no one in the place was strange. Regardless, I wasn't comfy eating cold chicken, so, it got sent back. The décor is also super depressing. The servers move beyond slowly and are inattentive. There is just some strange negative vibe in this place, and I couldn't wait to get out. Still, our wings, two drinks, and his sub cost us $42 with tip. Ridiculous. read more

We are from Pa. here for a month and have frequented Binks, while there we smelled the aromas for Pizzfarro.s. We decided to give it a try and We had a great dinner at Pizzafarro's. The server was very helpful and pleasant. Pizza was great and Pasta was great!!! Would like to suggest to the person who had a wrong order twice to check it next time. A local establish that has a loyal following. No real bar for cocktails but ample beer selection. I was impressed with the servers knowledge and courtesy. It's hard to find great service and this is a four star service parlor. Two styles of crust. Thin or original. I would order original for take out because it holds up better. Thin crust is NYC style thin crust. This is not Papa Johns quality and the prices reflect the difference. Large cheese, large pep, sausage, onion and mushroom combined with a family size salad was 61.00. Not cheap but the quality is clearly different. Pizza was above Papa John's and below lombardi's. Salad dressing (house) was excellent. Overall, I would go again but wouldn't drive out of my way for the pie. read more

This makes me sad, we used to go there all the time but the service and food has gone way downhill. The wine and beer selection is so bad-and the wine is terrible stuff. Pizza is greasy, and tough. The thin crust pizza was amazing. Its the best pizza in Phoenix if you ask me. The décor is 1970s minus the mirrored disco ball and needed updating 20 years ago. The utensils were dirty, the oil and vinegar bottles were dirty and the bathroom handle was missing. We ordered a small pizza, a small salad and a plate of vegetarian pasta. The salad was fine, the pizza was to die for but the pasta ingredients were cold. The pasta itself was warm but the vegetables were right out of the refrigerator cold. We asked the waitress for an extra plate to share the pasta before we found out it was uncooked and she never brought one. When we mentioned that the pasta dish was cold and saw it on our bill we asked her about it. She stated that if she took it off of our bill that the cost was taken out of her check. That's not fair to her but why am I paying $13 for a meal we left on the plate? I decided to pay for the $13 pasta plate that was inedible but not leave her a tip since I'm paying $13 for a meal I was unable to eat. They did not take the $13 out of here check so that's her tip. A great tip for a total meal costing $45 and obviously the service was terrible. Now the best part. I paid with a credit card at the cashiers desk like always. Our waitress processed the credit card and noticed there was not tip on it. As we walked out the door she had the nerve to yell out "What no tip" in front of other patrons. Apparently she did not realize she got a $13 tip for providing horrible service AND bad food. The only reason for any stars is the pizza was AMAZING. read more
