Brick oven fired Pepperoni Pizza 12"
    Michael R.

Our group was spending a few days in Vancouver, BC exploring after returning from our Alaska cruise. Our Airbnb condo was right downtown so ideally suited for walking. We had discovered this little pizzeria during the day, and decided to try it for dinner. It is located in the cul-de-sac of shops at the end of Keefer Pl. by Abbott St. Their menu offers a diverse option of pizza (including GF option) along with salads and soups. The pizzas are personal size 12". We decided on the pepperoni pizza. They use a fired brick oven which gives you that really flavorful char on the crust. The pepperoni was larger sliced sizes that what you traditionally see, and the amount of pepperoni was very generous. It had good flavor and a bit of spiciness to it. The cheese was very buttery and creamy with great flavor, and the crust seemed like it was freshly made dough. All in all a great experience and good quality pizza. What is unique about this venue is that they promote playing board games while you dine. . They have hundreds of games their customers can choose to lay while waiting for your pizza and while you eat. The restaurant was packed with adults and families, it was quite unique and fun to watch. We would definitely recommend giving them a try if in Vancouver.

A great spot for a games night with friends over pizza and some drinks. Perfect activity for a rainy day in Vancouver! Best part is that they can fit a large group size, I went there with around 10 people and we were able to hold the table for 2 hours. They have so many games, it's amazing! I'm also a big fan of their food, my friend and I shared their pesto pizza which was cheesy and delicious. It was a thin crust pizza that was fresh out of the oven. I would say one pizza can be shared between two people! Their food prices are also pretty reasonable. My favourite part were their drinks! We got their Italian soda in the lavendar and peach flavours. Sooo good!!! I want to go back just to try more of their flavours. Their service was pretty quick :)

A revisit for a night of board games. Booked a table ahead of time and it was ready when we got there. That was when the good service ended. It was super warm in the restaurant and we had to ask a couple of times for a server to take our order. As we were ordering, we all decided to get drinks to start and our server asked if we were going to get any food. We said maybe in a bit and she said we had to order $15 per person. I felt that was a little uncalled for because we were going to order a second round of drinks and mentioned this as well. Even looking around we saw tables of 8 people only ordering 2-3 pizzas to share and a couple of pops but the server didn't make the same comment to those tables even though it would have been similar spend to us. The food was ok, meatballs were dry and tastes like they were in the freezer for a while. Definitely not fresh by any means but the sauce helped. Drinks were decent. We had auto-gratuity of 18% since we were a party of 6 but we had no service at all. We weren't provided cutlery unless we asked, our water glasses were not filled the entire time we were there and we were only provided with a pitcher of water when we asked at the counter. I understand we were a bigger party so we were asked to tip more but we received little to no service!! On top of this, when we were given the machine after, it asked for tips again so if you didn't notice the auto-gratuity on the receipt you would have tipped yet again!!!

So much fun!! I recently had the pleasure of visiting Pizzeria Ludica with my husband & son. It was an experience that went beyond just great pizza! First off, let's talk about the pizza. We went for the thin crust option, which was perfect--crisp and light with not too much cheese. The sauce had a tad of spiciness to it, which added a nice kick, but overall, it was all good! I tried their Margherita pizza, and it was decently average. I didn't ask about the proofing:/ But what truly set Pizzeria Ludica apart was the fantastic selection of walk games available to play! After enjoying our meal, my husband, son, and I dove into a few games, and we discovered Mad Gab. It turned into the highlight of the evening! The atmosphere was lively, and it felt great to engage in some friendly competition while enjoying the relaxed vibe of the pizzeria. Plus, they had a good beer selection to complement our meal! Overall, Pizzeria Ludica is a gem not just for its pizza, but for the joyful experience it offers with the games. I can't wait to go back for another round of food and play! Highly recommended!

Went to Pizza Ludica on Halloween night in 2022 with my friends. We got garlic bread and pizza to share then. I returned again with another group in April 2023 and the experience was great as well. The pizzas are to die for. They are perfectly cheesy and the the pull is insane. Especially when you share food between friends, the meal is unbelievably cheap. Both times I went I think I only spent around $11 not including tip. I'm a huge board game fan so I absolutely adore this place. There are so many options and it's always a good time. I also love the board game-centric comics and decor around the restaurant. Highly recommend as a group activity!

What a fun spot in the city! Lots of board games to choose from and great for groups. We walked in and got a table for our group no problem. They have an extensive pizza menu, perfect for sharing! Appreciate them hot out the oven. You can grab hot sauce on the side and I like to add the chilli flakes and extra Parmesan. They also have a pretty good drink menu, as well as pasta and other appetizers.

made a reservation here looking for a taste of italy on a budget. the ambiance was cozy and service was gracious, even on a busy saturday night. the food was delightful! very well made and ingredients tasted fresh. if you love floral drinks like lavendar, i highly recommend their lavendar italian soda. i wish i could buy it at the store it was so good! i paid under 50 for both of our pizzas and the soda. very good price for the quality you get. perfect place if you're looking to have a social date/meal. thank you so much for having us

Ludica A great pizzeria place to visit for beer & pizza. There's a wall of various board games to play. There's a nice variety of pizza alternatives for the vegan & vegetarian pizza lover. Also cheese substitutes & gluten- free choices. Both the Caesar salad and arugula salad were tasty! The prices are very reasonable along with decent size portions. Their pizzas are about 6 slices in total. A great place to dine pre or post game at Rogers Arena or BC place. Near Stadium skytrain station. Parking's a challenge. We dined outside on a beautiful summer evening.

Supplying many of these hobbies have been relegated to a few shelves in big-box craft shops like Michaels and Hobby Lobby in the US. Once I found Imperial Hobbies on Yelp during our vacation and it was near our hotel, I made my plans. I dropped my wife off for her spa day and this was going to be my spa day ;) The store is in a group of buildings almost at the end of the runway of Vancouver Airport (YVR). If you hang around, you'll see tons of airliners approaching for landings and roaring off on take offs. I just couldn't believe the selection of plastic models of planes, armor, cars and trucks along with complete selections of paint and finishing materials. It's these types of stores that I would spend hours in as a boy, but could only stare wide-eyed because I never had much money back then. But now as an adult with a job and disposable income, I probably would have gone broke if I didn't have to pack everything into my luggage to fly home. The favorable CAD$ to USD$ exchange rate also helped a lot in my shopping. I ended up with a couple of scale plastic model kits and a flying model rocket that are rare, out of production kits or very hard to find, even on-line.

This requirement was never disclosed at the time of purchase, even though I specifically asked about their return process. Instead, after the fact, they pointed to wording on the receipt that says "receipts" (plural) as if that somehow retroactively justifies refusing the return. That is not transparent policy--it's moving the goalposts. In standard retail practice, an itemized proof of purchase is sufficient to process a return. Most businesses understand that the purpose of a receipt requirement is simply to verify the transaction. When a customer provides clear documentation that does exactly that, refusing a return on a technicality is not policy--it's avoidance. I have been a professional shopper supporting small businesses in this city for eight years, and I have never encountered a store using this kind of tactic. It comes across as slimy, unprofessional, and frankly dishonest. What's especially disappointing is that I've spent thousands of dollars here over the years. Instead of honoring a straightforward $300 return with valid proof of purchase, they chose to damage a long-standing customer relationship. Because of this experience, they've lost a loyal customer. I will also be advising other shoppers in my community to avoid this store due to what appears to be bad-faith and poor business practices. I cannot recommend a business that treats customers this way.

I am familiar with DeSerres stores as they are a national, high-end arts supply store, and when I used to be a student in design school, we'd often get specialized items here in Montreal, years ago. I went online and saw that they carry not one but TWO good puzzle glues, so off I went, to find this store. I found the place easily, on Grandview, close to the Italian Community Center where I got my COVID booster a while back. And right off the bat, I was impressed that there was a dedicated parking lot for their clients. Free parking? Yes, please! Upon entering the store, a young woman who was manning the cash greeted me, and I asked her where the puzzle glue was. She knew exactly where and told me which aisle. As I walked to the area, I was struck by all the canvases, acrylic paints and brushes. What a great selection, and all of excellent brands. (Not the kind at generic craft stores). I also was struck by all the artsy "toys" - the kinds I've not seen elsewhere. Know a kid who's creative? This truly would be the place to get him or her gifts. I didn't go upstairs, but it was clear there was a second floor. I was amazed at all the puzzles they had. I didn't remember DeSerres having puzzles and toys, only art supplies. And the puzzles they had were excellent quality ones, like Ravensburger, and all depicted scenes and artworks that I've never seen on puzzles before. I don't think you'd have to worry about missing pieces or ill-fitting pieces if you got any of these puzzles. I couldn't find the puzzle glue, but the employee who greeted me came to check on my progress in finding what I came here for, and when I told her there were no glues in the aisle, she said they just got a shipment of stuff "in the back" and she'd go check. So nice! Unfortunately, when she returned she said that no glues were in that shipment and the next shipment isn't for another week or two. Darn it. I had assumed if an item was on their website, it'd be in stock in the store. Next time I'll know to call first to check. The employee suggested I try maybe Michael's or another craft store (I forget the name), and I thanked her for her help. She really tried to help me out and I appreciated it. The prices at this store are not cheap, but we're not dealing with cheap merchandise. Just call first if you're looking for a specialized item.
