We came here for happy hour at around 4:30pm. The restaurant was mostly empty. We got an aperol spritz, hand cut fries (7.00), pizza americano (18.00) and the spaghetti pomodoro (17.00). The aperol spritz wasn't very strong which was fine. The spaghetti was disappointing and overcooked. The tomato sauce wasn't very strong. The hand cut fries weren't very crispy. The sauce was nice though. The pizza had a lot of pepperoni but I felt like the dough wasn't chewy enough. Overall the food is mediocre but the service is good and the atmosphere is nice. The prices are also not bad for happy hour

Novo lives up to the reviews- solid service, menu and food. Our party of 5 enjoyed a delicious meal with appetizers, pizza and salads. In particular, Polpette al Sugo di Pomodoro, Calamari Fritti and Focaccia di casa were quite tasty. We made an online reservation and were seated right away. Warmly greeted by service staff, overall a good start to the meal. Several of us had the Novo Caesar salad, it was great. We shared the MARGHERITA, AMERICANO (pepperoni) and SALAMI AND OLIVES pizza ! The Neapolitan thin crust pizzas were very good. Everything arrived warm and well presented. Service was excellent and the overall atmosphere was very friendly. Solid 4+* - we will return

Finally got the chance to try this Pizzeria on burrard! They've got pastas and other italian stuff as well. Let me set the record straight...if you want good pasta with premium ingredients, you DO NOT come here. We ordered 3 pasta entrees and they are all average at best. Overpriced with little to no toppings save for the sauce. Only the pomodoro stood out. All the rest, very mediocre. The pizzas were a bit better. Thin crust with burnt bubbles...nicely done. The margherita was simply and rustic. Very good execution. Very thin crust and nice bite to it. The best dish of the night was the beef carpaccio with freshly baked bread. Melt in your mouth goodness. Drizzled with cheese, arugula and olive oil. So heavenly. Nicely cured and presented. Calamari also good. Not over-breaded and perfectly seasoned. Place was a bit noisy and crowded...service could be improved a little bit. Would i repeat? Nope. More choices out there... Cheers! Happy eating!

Novo underwent a renovation in February and I was lucky enough to win a meal for two from a contest. Even though I won a meal for 2, I booked a table for 3 for a Wednesday night. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted warmly by name and felt like being welcomed to someone's home. The contest included 2 glasses of wine but they gave us 2 glasses of wine plus an alternative drink for me, as I can't have wine. Talk about service! We were served the Chef's antipasti platter that was a huge portion of cured meats, soft cheese, basil, tomatoes, and olives. It was also served with fresh focaccia bread - so good and highly recommend it! We then got to choose a wood fire pizza and two pastas of our choice. We choose the potato pizza, the gnocchi, and the pappardelle bolognese. I'm usually not a fan of thin crust pizzas but this was perfectly done and the potato pizza was absolutely to die for! At this point, my friends and I were starting to get full but had to try the pastas! The bolognese was simmered for 6 hours and the taste showed. This was one of the best pappardelle dishes I've had and the creamy gnocchi pasta was a perfect balance to it. The gnocchi's were HUGE and unlike many other places, they were light and fluffy in texture. Never tasted gnocchi like this before and now I feel like I could never settle for the average starchy gnocchi's out there. We were given one dessert but we decided to order two - the panna cotta and chocolate sea salt caramel budino. Panna cotta was solid and though I am not a chocolate fan, the budino was good enough that I took more than one bite of it. Service is simply amazing - my friends and I felt so welcomed and special! For a free meal we won, they absolutely went out of their way for us! I can't wait to return and try more dishes. Highly highly recommend this place for both service and restaurant!!

Great service, attentive and friendly staff. Not too packed on a week day evening In my opinion: Squid ink pasta special: quite nice, enjoyed the texture of the pasta (not dry or grainy) Gnocchi: truffle cream sauce was delicious, great if you like the soft and delicate nature of gnocchi Chorizo +honey pizza : Definitely my favorite/ would recommend. Can't beat a good sweet and salty combination and thin wood fired pizza crust

THE POTATO PIZZA. You must get this!!!

I've been going to Novo since it opened. I love the atmosphere In here. It's hard to find a nice cozy casual neighborhood spot serving delicious food. The service is always wonderful, very welcoming. The pizza is some of the best in the city. The potato pizza is UNREAL; a must try!! I love the calamari as well, though it was a little different the last time I was in, but still yummy. The pasta is quite tasty too. I enjoy the pomodoro. My boyfriend loves the crab ravioli, but it's a bit heavy for me. You must finish your meal off with dessert, as it's always delicious. The tiramisu is my favourite.

Tiramisu, I'm sorry to say but this one is the best in Vancouver... :)
    Gabriel Y.

Sorry to say but this is the best place in Vancouver for pizza, pasta e dessert. The place is not so big but it's amazing with a nice bar and open wine room. Since when you come the waiter receives you with a big smile :) I really like the options for entree, Burrata and Calamari are my favourite. Burrata Speck and Prosciutto are my favourite pizza and they taste so good... believe or not I've never ate something so good in Vancouver like these pizzas!!! Don't forget to order a wine as a side. They help the things a much better. Don't forget the dessert tiramisu is the best in Vancouver and I like the Siciliano as well. They are good but I prefer tiramisu lol If you have any question don't forget to ask for help the workers are pretty helpful and have so many suggestions and they are so nice. The manager, Marius is amazing. Thank you for reading this review and I hope you like the place and the food as well!!!

    Chorizo & Honey Pizza

The Chorizo & Honey pizza is the best pizza I've eaten in my life. Holy yummy. The pasta was good too but honestly, just get that pizza. I am drooling.

    Nice Pappardelle Bolognese @Novo (Burrard)
    Justin C.

Very welcoming and trendy spot with friendly staff and excellent food. Just feels like the food is 10-12% overpriced. Loved their pinot, calamari, pizzas, and pappardelle. I'd come back again to bring family and would also say it's a nice date spot. Conveniently next door to the 19+ Cineplex, and free street parking just 1/2 a block south!

    Brussels sprouts

The food was delicious and the pizza was so cheesy. Waiters were kind and they were really quick when u needed help. I would really recommend this place.

    Carbonara

They take reservations online! Went with party of 4 and they were able to seat us right away. The food is great and their Neapolitan style pizza is thin yet crispy made over their wood fire oven. They have a wide range of pasta and pizza for the family. They're a great family orientated restaurant.

It was really awesome to try so many different types of cider. We also enjoyed the well made vegan menu and shared: Burger with side of poutine - the burger was very tasty, and the fries were top notch. The mushroom gravy was a bit too heavy on the corn starch or whatever thickener they used, making it weirdly gummy, and was somewhat lacking in flavour. But otherwise this was quite good. Jackfruit Tacos - we ordered an extra one. This was decent, but a bit underwhelming for me. The ingredients were fresh. As for the Pottery Night, that was fun! Anais, who runs the event was very kind and patient, and gave us guidance along the way. I ran out of steam after making a few Christmas ornaments, so my husband used the rest of my clay for his projects (ashtrays). I recommend signing up the next time they do this!

If I had to find a fault I would say the fries could be a little crisper. They have 19 ciders on draught, which are available by the 12oz or as a 4x4oz flight. I recommend doing the flight, as there are so many delicious flavours of ciders that this is the best way to try many. There is a small outside patio, and reasonable sized seating area inside. We were there mid-week for a late lunch, so they werent too crowded, but I can imagine this place is very popular in the evening and weekends. It's also a convenient short walk to Kitsilano beach. What better way to cool off after some sun than some cold cider!

A big thank you to Mallory and the kitchen staff! This review is 3 months late, but even a few months later, we remember our meal like it was yesterday and can't wait to return the next time we're in Vancouver. Getting to experience a Michelin Guide-recommended vegan restaurant was one of the highlights of our trip! We had (from the June 2025 menu): the Bread, the Broccolini, the Chickpea Tofu, and the Potato Cavatelli. Not a single crumb, morsel, drizzle of sauce, or even pea was left on the plates! Every bite was so full of flavor and decadent, we were so sad when the meal was over ;) The stand-out though was the Chickpea Tofu, the best tofu we've ever had and it seemed to just melt in your mouth. We also loved sitting at the bar that overlooks the open kitchen. They offer those seats for guests who want a more immersive, interactive dining experience. It was really cool to watch the chefs create each masterpiece. Overall a truly memorable and delicious experience!

I think I paid almost $27. I was really not impressed. The nugs. Tasted great. Half was still luke warm INSIDE the potatos so I'm guessing re heat on the pan etc. half hot. Half sorta warm. The bacon. Can anyone complain about bacon? It was great. The eggs... I liked the eggs but I wish they threw that on top of the bread. Because a wooden fork that doesn't pick up nothing. It was a mess to get the sunny off the take out container bottom. Otherwise the eggs was great. The toast... well I wasn't a fan of it. Maybe if it had been packed on the side in a bag I might of. I don't know. It wasn't great and it tasted sweet cuz of the salad they put on the other side of the bread in the box. I didn't like the salad. I don't like sweet salads and the dressing ruined the bread. Yep so the salad. The ingredients in the salad was fine. I just didn't like the dressing. Had this been dressing on the side I would have liked the salad. The avocado. I paid $3 for half an avocado. I wouldn't so much complain about that. If the whole meal itself wasn't such hit and miss. But overall. $27 including a $3 tip I was not impressed for what I got. And I'd dare say the highlight was the potatos even though half of the wasn't even hot. I would of really enjoyed the eggs if there was a way to get them on the toast (without the dressing contamination) without the egg breaking before I could get it on the toast (sunny side up) While I work practically next door, I can't say I would do this order again. Service was fast. For take out. Less than 10 mins. But I think I'd of prefer to wait 2 more mins if the potatos would of been reheated through

The menu changes constantly depending on what is fresh and in season. Take a look at my photos on this page to see the range. Last night an heirloom tomato and onion salad tasted like the last of summer exploding in our mouths. There are usually 4 - 6 different fresh pastas to choose from. We shared a halibut with tomato one and bolognese last night. These pastas are the definition of al dente. No place in Vancouver does it this well. There is an extensive wine list sure not to disappoint and make sure to start or finish with a cheese or two. The parmesan is mind blowing perfection. They don't take reservations and this outstanding restaurant is quite small and busy so be prepared for a wait.
