Service and people are really nice ... the food, however, isn't that great. It's tough to give such nice people a bad review, but I have to be honest about the food. It wasn't good. Sandwiches. Typically, a chicken parmesan sandwich is a breaded, chicken cutlet with marinara sauce and melted mozzarella and parmesan. This was unbreaded chicken breast cut into chunks, tossed in some tomato sauce with melted mozzarella. My friends got a Reuben and cheesesteak - they weren't thrilled. A 12yo had the cheesesteak and was disappointed that there was hardly any meat - mostly green peppers. Lasagna. Wife said it was ok. The pasta was a little firm. I didn't bother trying it - the sauce was a creamy, really light orange. Not a typical red tomato sauce. I'm not expecting authenticity, but other pizza joints seem to get lasagna that looks like what one would expect. Mozzarella sticks. The cheese wasn't melted and it was served without marinara sauce. Perhaps they forgot to pack it in our take-out order ... Pizza. The pizza wasn't terrible. We ordered bacon and mashed potatoes as toppings - like the pizza we usually order when going to Basic in east village. Something was missing taste-wise. But maybe shouldn't have compared it to Basic's bacon and mashed potato pizza. Maybe had we just ordered pizza with typical toppings like just pepperoni, we would've been satisfied. We're probably not going to try this place again. Hopefully, they fix some of their non-pizza offerings. I wish them luck for the future. read more

What a little gem and or welcome change. The customer is paramount at this place in that they make it how you like it . Good eye contact and they relay you what you just ordered so that it gets done the way you request it. I will continue supporting this little establishment for as long as it stands. This was my first time ordering from Pizzero Grill. They are right down the street from where I work. I ordered 4 pizzas for the staff for my birthday; pepperoni, marguerite, meat lovers and vegetarian pizza plus the chicken wings. They were all so delicious! My fav was the marguerite pizza. The crust here is very light and different from most pizza places. The Chechen wings were excellent. The staff raves about how much they enjoyed everything. Next time I think I will ask for the crust to be cooked a bit longer. Hot, it was great but the pizza sat out for awhile and got a bit soggy but not Pizzero fault. Went in after a doctor's appointment feeling low and uninspired but was soon glad I decided to try this place! As soon as I walked in, the friendly staff acknowledged me and made me feel comfortable and relaxed with good vibes. I don't eat meat so when I asked a few questions, they were happy to make suggestions but the menu was easy to navigate. As I waited I went to the restroom which was clean and fully stocked. After a short wait I received the "Pizzero Salad" which was fresh and bright with a delicious dressing, the "Vegetarian Pizza" which was robust and warm with the right amount of everything, and also couldn't resist the tiramisu which was the cherry on top! During my meal someone checked in to make sure I was happy and drmonstrated great customer service! I honestly never leave reviews but this place deserves it! They really made my day! Ordered this through Postmates. We ordered a buffalo chicken pizza and a hair was found cooked within the cheese. The amount of cheese on the pizza actually ruined it as the cheese only melted together and didn't stick to the pizza. Went to Pizzero Grill as a recommendation from a friend. Upon entering, I automatically noticed the fairly reasonable prices as well as the menu, which has more options than the usual small pizzeria. I order a large half pepperoni, half margherita pizza. Let me just say, I love pizza, and have had my fair share of good and bad. This pizza however, was excellent! Ordered 1 pizza, 2 calzones, and garlic bread. The garlic bread had green stuff (not pesto) and was soggy...ended up throwing it away after one bite. The pizza was burnt in places so my daughter couldn't eat all of it. The calzones were just folded over pizza with hardly any sauce. I asked for green peppers and tomatoes in mine but I had a hard time finding any tomatoes. Will never order from them again. Oh, the Greek salad was OK. Lol read more

One star for delivering faster than estimated time. That's about all the good I can say. Ordered 2 pizzas, asked for square cut on both. They got one right and the other was obviously "square" cut after having accidentally been cut regularly. What resulted was a pizza with pieces too awkward to handle, some slices without toppings which needed to be remedied by manual redistribution. About the pizzas themselves? You can tell the dough is well made only from biting into the crust rim. Any hint of a good pizza dough anywhere else in the pie is masked by the inevitable soggy and rubbery texture achieved from the pizza being too greasy. And if that wasn't evidence of the level of grease, the lining paper underneath the pizza was practically invisible as it was drenched in oil. Perhaps, pertaining to pizza perfection, I'm a point too picky. I have made my own pizza at home and do know what a good dough feels like, as well as how to top it so as not to ruin the final product.
