Well that was disappointing. The girls at the register were very nice but $13 for 2 oz of meat and cheese on a stale roll with an underdressed lettuce and tomato is terrible. The roll was inedible, even after brought it home and decided to try toasting it. read more

Happy National Pizza Day! I visited @pizzettasleland for the first time. This place serves a lot of different Italian dishes so I'm just going to rate the pizza. Out of 5 I would give it 3 stars. I ordered a classic pepperoni & a buffalo chicken pizza. The pepperoni was a bit salty & the chicken on the buffalo pizza was a bit dry. The proportions were huge, but all together I would say it wasn't worth the money I paid. My rating doesn't mean this place isn't good or that I wouldn't order pizza, but if I did order pizza then I would recommend the personal pan pizza. Pizzetta's is the best! Last week, I had the BEST COCONUT CAKE!! it was made from scratch, rich with flavor and fresh coconut. Melt in your mouth, goodness! Today, I had a cup of chicken veggie soup. First and last time here. Service was terrible. Wasn't offered a receipt or shown/told how much I was being charged. The girls working the register have zero customer service skills. Extremely chaotic when you walk in the restaurant and loud. But worst of all our food was terrible. Slices of pizza had clearly been sitting under a heater of some sort. Tasted old/stale. I have had Pizzetta's pizza for takeout but never sat inside for dining and was curious on how their other food matches their amazing pizza. I came here with my mom for dinner and we started off by sharing some calamari. It was a standard calamari and was fulfilling. They also gave us complementary garlic knots. I wasn't blown away by the garlic knots. They seemed a bit doughy for my liking but not too bad. My mom for a Caesar salad which she thought was pretty good. For our main dishes my mom got the chicken Toscana which she thought was delicious! I got the lobster raviolis which again were decent. I think overall this place is good but I am eager to try more dishes on the menu. read more

Had higher hopes for this place. Heard great things but experience wise wouldn't recommend dine in. Our server half way through the meal just left us high and dry for another server to finish his work. Greasy pizza and frozen starters. I actually gave half of my servers tip to the other server who did his job. read more

Eileen was our server, she went above and beyond to welcome us to the area, telling us all about the family history of the business and the new building plans. She made us feel right at home. Went there around 7pm to pick up slices, the quality of the pizza is very close to New York style pizza. What's odd is they won't add toppings to cheese pizza, like pepperoni. Basically if they run out of a particular pizza, that's it for slices. Also what rubbed me the wrong way is when there was a slice of chicken Parmesan in the glass counter, the employee said it was already taken but still sat there in the glass case. Maybe be truthful about the slice and don't leave it for customers to see, I'm pretty sure the guy was lying. read more

Since my husband and I moved permanently to Brunswick County in 2018, I've been on the prowl for delicious gluten free pizza without having to drive to Wilmington or Myrtle Beach. (Or make my own.) Discovering Pizzetta's offers a larger gluten free pizza for less money than Mellow Mushroom, I had my hopes up. Perhaps too much. If you're only gluten intolerant, you may have better luck at Pizzetta's. I do not recommend Pizzetta's for those with Celiac disease. The danger of cross-contamination is too great. That said, the GF crust is quite tasty, and the toppings are fresh and delicious. It keeps well for leftovers and reheats nicely. My husband tried both the Stromboli and their regular pizza, a large pepperoni and mushroom. He preferred the Stromboli, and deemed the pie itself just average. (He definitely prefers Mellow Mushroom.) One bright spot during our time at Pizzetta's was the bartender on duty. While we didn't catch his name, he kept us watered and entertained while we waited for our takeout order. He even noticed our order waiting at the counter and let us know. The folks who took our order were either too busy or too preoccupied to call our name. Walked in, the sign said Please Wait to be seated. Lots of empty tables and a waitress said sit anywhere. Went to the counter, ordered a few slices, left a nice tip in the jar and sat down and waited. Slices brought to me in a paper bag and I was going to eat them sitting down and the rude waitress said "Just so you know in the future, you're taking up a table for a paying customer." The are also very short, and leave you with the feeling that you are just a wallet. Pizzas are basically good but usually oily and greasy. Dishes are just average. Wow! One of our biggest concerns after very recently moving to the area: will we be able to find acceptable pizza? Done! We actually sat at the bar and had great chicken parm the night before. The sauce was good enough to pick up a pizza the very next night with high hopes but tempered expectations. BOOM! Our half-cheese/half-meatball pie was exceptional. We have been ordering a large pizza 1/2 pepperoni 1/2 cheese every Friday for the last 10 years. It's seriously the Best pizza in the area! everyone is very nice including the owners. I haven't eaten here a lot, but when I do, I typically order pizza. It's always very good! Nice large slices too. I once had their braised short ribs ravioli, which was very good but way to much sauce on top, but I scraped it off. I wanted to taste the flavor of the ravioli and meat. Visited Roughly 7pm 6/14/22 Food: Good, it came out piping hot and the taste was pretty good. Garlic knot snacks for a bread starter, my father got a salad. Both of our main dishes had 0 complaints from us. Service: This was very confusing to us, because from what we're able to count there 7 servers 2 for the bar/hightop area and 5 for the main area which has 8 tables. So needless to say they weren't short on hands, but our service overall was... chaotic or inconsistent at least. Our table for whatever reason didn't have a pepper shaker/mill so my father didn't have that for his salad, but watched as our server went to other tables with the same type of salad with pepper mill in hand. That aside, I went to the counter to ask one of the servers (who were just chatting amongst themselves) if I could ask for a pizza to go before we finished up eating. They refused by telling me to wait for my server, however our server was too busy hanging out and chatting (including sitting down with for extended periods of time) the hightop behind us so it took an extra 15 mins to even get that order in. Safety/Health: few really big concerns of watching staff (kitchen mostly) walk into and out of the bathroom without washing their hands. Also watched one of the female staff members walk into the male bathroom? It was just a tad odd, but something we noticed in our visit. Tl;dr - Food is good, service needs a lot more flexibility and needs to address washing hands after using restroom. read more

Build your own Stromboli was amazing. Well cooked, nice presentation. The eggplant Parm was large but a little bready. It could have used a little more eggplant or a smaller hero roll to bulk it up for a better bread to filling ration. Garlic knots were fresh and hot. FINALLY some great pizza. I'm a pretty tough critic when it comes to pizza, former NY girl. We ordered a cheese pizza, crispy, with fresh basil. It was perfect. Great ratio of sauce and cheese, crisp- foldable crust, no cheap cheese. We have searched high and low for some good pizza in the Wilmington area, The Leland Pizzettas is our favorite. Also I recommend the garlic knots, Nona's Pizza and save room for dessert! Limoncello cake, cheesecake, tuxedo cake, cannolis are all very good! read more
