Had to get a refund for two out of the four items. It happens right! The bagel chosen was supposed to come with cream cheese and I didn't realize it until I was already back at the house. Stopped in to try the beignets as they were highly recommended by the staff at Southeast aesthetics. The establishment has a cute new Orleans theme and it's very clean and welcoming located in Elgin off of exit 82 quite easy to access. Customer service was exceptional and the beignets were a 10 out of 10 I would definitely take that drive time after time for the beignets! I really think the owner should have a beignet and coffee food truck to show up at local events. It would definitely be a showstopper. read more

Honey Oat Milk Latte and Blueberry Muffin = Delicious! I rode by this place twice and said that I would try them out. Today was the day! The dining room was filled with patrons. I didn't take pictures of it because of this. But it was very clean. I was greeted at the door by the staff and by the person whom I believe to be the manager. I informed them that this was my first time coming and they gave me some fan favorites...which is the honey oat milk latte. I ordered the muffin to go with my latte. It was warmed up before I left. Still warm by the time I got home, I just put a little more warmth to it by placing it in my toaster oven and I warmed up my latte in the microwave. They are definitely onto something with this latte! It is sweet, but not overly sweet. You get a hint of honey and just an overall balanced latte. I for sure will order again. This is a hidden gem. I knew I wanted to try the beignets but wasn't sure about what drink. I opted for the honey oat latte which was good. I was skeptical when I first saw the drink but it turned out to be really good. If you like sweet, you will like this. It's not very creamy but not too bitter. The beignets are made fresh to order so be prepared to wait but it's so worth it. They were AMAZING! Hot, fresh, light and fluffy! They are best to eat either right then or once you get home. PJ's Coffee. Have you been there yet? Let me start with the warm greeting from the young ladies working there. It was really refreshing to walk in a business and be greeted with such exuberance and smiles. I ordered the 6 beignets with strawberry dipping sauce (they had other dipping sauce flavors) and a White chocolate latte and we ordered a Americano with triple shot espresso. The coffee was hot flavorful and delicious. I've had beignets in New Orleans and a few other places. These were hot delectable fresh and amazing!! We sat inside at one of the tables. The place was clean, neat and gave that comfy cafe feel. This was by far one of the best coffee shops i've been too. The red bull watermelon refresher was lovely, and some of the staff were friendly, but it was pretty disappointing to pay $8 for quite literally a piece of bread with only ham and Swiss on it. Fun decor inside, would be a nice place to work remote. read more

Coffee reminds me of home (New Orleans)! Got the cafe au lait and an order of beignets. I'm bias toward Cafe du Monde, but these come the closest so far in the Columbia area. Coffee was strong, and service was fast. Prices are reasonable, and they have a rewards program. They offer fun seasonal flavors that I look forward to trying. They opened up recently and when I tell you I pray they get all the business because they deserve it! The location is easy to get to. They have a drive through if you don't want or can't sit in. The inside was nicely decorated. Very modern yet nice cafe vibe to it. They offer so many nice pastries and breakfast items I wanted to try them all honestly. I ordered a regular coffee with hazelnut flavoring and cream but they have so many options and flavor variations to choose from. I also ordered a spinach spanikopita, Turkey sausage egg and cheese sandwich and an order of beignets. It was all delicious!!! Trust me when I say this, delicious! The beignets were the star of the show! They were heavenly! I almost ordered some to go they were that good! The service was excellent! The staff was so nice and knowledgeable. Was looking for a local coffee shop to call home. After a couple of google searches, I stumbled upon PJs coffee and was delighted to see that they served coffee, breakfast sandwiches AND beignets. I could not wait to visit this location. My first visit was during the morning. I was happy to see there were no customers in the drive thru which made my wait time pretty short. Upon ordering, I requested the eggs, cheese and sausage bagel and asked if I substitute the pork sausage for turkey sausage, the employee stated that I could. I then confirmed that the sausage would be turkey, she said that it would. I even went the extra mile to say that I could NOT eat pork. She understood and explained that it would be turkey. After paying for my meal and heading home, there was a voice in my head telling me to check the sandwich. And I'm glad I did, I had a strange feeling about the meat and noticed that it looked like pork and tasted like it also. I discarded the piece that I ate and threw the sausage patty away and made my own turkey sausage to place on the bagel sandwich. I felt like I was being over dramatic but I rather do that than mistakenly eat pork. My second visit was today and I decided to visit in the afternoon. I made the same request for a turkey sausage and was told that the sandwiches were PRE MADE! Meaning there's no way for them to change the meat to turkey sausage. Which also meant that I was sold a pork sandwich when I was explicitly told that it would be turkey sausage on the previous visit. I felt disgusted and devastated. I then explained to the employee that I was told something different from the last visit and he responded with "sorry". I plan to call the manager to alert him/her about the mishap. I would hate for this happen to anyone else. Also- I downloaded the app to earn rewards but the Elgin location is not on the app. The app allows you to order items and earn double stars and even place an order ahead of time. Without the location being on the app, I can only enter my number when paying and earn stars then. read more

Met three of my friends here this morning. I'd heard about this from the Cola Eats group on Facebook. I was told they had great Beignets and also Chicory Coffee, so we all decided to go and have a "Cafe du Monde" experience. I was disappointed that they didn't have chicory coffee, but they do have very good beignets. I asked the girl taking orders if they had chicory coffee and she had never heard of it (although she said she was from Louisiana!). I googled PJ's Coffee when I got home and see it is based out of New Orleans and they do have chicory coffee there, but apparently don't have it at this site.....Oh well, I had a coffee and 3 beignets. They were very good. Coffee was also good. The scones and breads under their glass case look very good and I'll have to go back. Hopefully the owner will bring in some Chicory coffee to go with the beignets for those that like Chicory, even if he has to go to World Market on Garners Ferry to get it! read more

After three visits, this place has became my new favorite go-to coffee shop for doing schoolwork. During each visit, the employees were friendly. My favorite has been the velvet ice with caramel. I have been a few times already and I have always been happy with what I got! We only had two coffee shops in the area and one being Starbucks which I'm not a huge fan of. So when I saw a new coffee shop was opening I was so excited and it was so worth the wait! Their coffee in my opinion is better than Starbucks. I have tried their velvet ice which is their frappes and that was really good-I want to say it was called the kings cake or something like that I tried it hot and gold and it was really good, my kids have had their frozen hot chocolate which is really good, I tried their butter rum latte I want to say is the name (if I am getting all the names wrong I'm worry ) and that was really good. I tried their Cuban sandwich and I'm from FL so I was very surprised to see that on the menu and had to see if it was good and it was delicious. The beignets though; those things are heaven! My daughters favorite Disney princess is princess Tiana and she said it was like it came right out of the tv screen! It was so good and fresh. Staff was very sweet and kind and the atmosphere inside is super cozy and elegant at the same time! It's my new coffee shop hangout spot and highly recommend everyone checking it out, at least for the beignets. read more
