I took my kids and the shop keeper/ barista was so sweet! Nice cozy atmosphere and they have tables to play chess and checkers. Great spot!

The coffee and smoothies have a great flavor! But the service was so slow, we had tried it before and it took 15 minutes to get just 2 drinks. So we thought that it was just a rough day, which anyone can have, and we would try it again. When we went back weeks later, and it was even slower! It took over 45 minutes to get 2 drinks and 2 premade muffins! It was insane, and when I asked around the 30 minute mark how much longer it would be the barista/server was really cranky. After this experience I asked my daughter who had tried this place a couple of times too, how her experiences were and unfortunately she had similar issues. So if you try this place, make sure you have a lot of time to wait. Personally I don't think I will be going back anytime soon. read more

Books On Broad was a great, small-town coffee and book shop! I loved the ambiance, and could've sat there for hours if I didn't have somewhere to be. My two (2) bagels were pretty good, and the girl working the counter was really sweet as well. My one (1) minor complaint was that the coffee was pretty weak, and I wish it was a little stronger. We stopped in here for coffee and breakfast before heading to spend the day with three of our grandsons and their family. The coffee shop is in the back of the bookstore, and has another entrance in the back. There are some interesting books on the shelves of the bookstore, and I'll want to return to look at the books when we don't have another obligation. Hubby ordered his usual Americano and I had a sugar free hazelnut latte. We both ordered toasted bagels with cream cheese as the food options are limited, but there is a good variety of different flavored bagels. My rosemary bagel was scrumptious and Hubby enjoyed his plain bagel. Definitely want to return to patronize a locally owned business and enjoy some great coffee too. read more

I've stopped here for a break while traveling numerous times over the past 3 years. I love the fact that you can peruse books with their ever-changing stock and displays. This is for the coffee shop portion. The book store is small and cute but I didn't spend any time in there other than to walk through it to get coffee. The young lady working there was very nice and had a very nice selection. The coffee was high-quality, and they have lots of flavors. I have a good expectation for coffee and I wasn't disappointed. I live in Columbia but I'm about 25 mins from downtown Camden for the weekend at the race track. Woke up this morning wanting coffee so decided to drive into Camden to get coffee and some breakfast. It was worth the drive! I got a iced vanilla oat milk latter which is delicious!! The girl working there was super nice. They have a huge selection of all kinds of books and a little coffee shop area with seating in the back. You can get all kinds of coffee, with different flavors, and they also had about 3 different non dairy milk options (yay!!) I believe they also had pastries and granola bars. There a little cheaper than Starbucks so if you want something that tastes close to it then you should go here. The only thing is they need more ice in the cold coffee because the taste gets ruined a little and isn't as good but it's a nice place to chill and drink or get a little snack. read more

I'm a huge fan of this place. Let me count the ways! For sure this is the only spot in downtown Camden to get a proper espresso drink or a cold-brew iced coffee. Hands down this is my biggest draw given I've spent years in big cities visiting excellent coffee shops. There's also a huge array of teas, smoothies, bottled drinks and snacks (if you're into that kind of thing). They pack a lot into the back of a bookshop! Oh yeah, and it's a bookshop! They have a great selection and a charming kid's section. Great place to snag a last-minute gift or a card. They will happily order stuff in for you, too, if they don't already have it. The staff are interesting, fun, literate, and attentive people. It's always fun to chat with folks who see so many denizens of this small town come through every week. Fingers on the pulse! I'm always running into clients and friends. Overall, I got zero complaints! There's plenty of parking front and back, ample and comfortable seating...I supposed that the only thing I could ask for is evening hours, to enjoy it even more.
