So, when my portable AC leaked onto my flooring last night, I knew who I was going to contact. I called when they opened, and found out that he was booked for the next week. I decided to send him a message to see if there was a company he would recommend to me. He actually responded immediately and said that he'd be able to squeeze me in! You have no idea how grateful I was to hear that. He gave me two time options, and called me when he was on the way. I had no idea how much water had made its way into my flooring, so I was preparing myself for the worst. Turns out, it didn't end up being a catastrophe! Matthew used a thermal camera, and a moisture meter to inspect for moisture on the floor/subfloor and flex ducting. Once again, he was thorough at his job, and in his communication. It's difficult finding people that take pride in their work, are trustworthy, and do a great job. We called several emergency water restoration companies, but Green Planet Restoration was the only one able send someone out to access our situation that day. David, our field supervisor, thoroughly inspected the damage and gave us an honest and careful outlook about the restoration process. Optimistically planning on insurance coverage, but realistically expecting denial, he made sure that all work and costs were approved by us before and throughout the insurance process. Thankfully we ended up being covered, and David helped negotiate on our behalf. Olman, our project manager, was attentive and communicative. He kept us up to date with all the work and progress, and helped us coordinate with the workers we had coming and going for several weeks. The crew working on the house was excellent, too! Giovanni walked us through the work, and helped us when we wanted to make adjustments. We made some pretty drastic changes to our spaces, installing LVP in both rooms and painting the wall and ceiling a dark color in one of them. These big upgrades were easily handled. At no point did we ever feel like we were left hanging or out of the loop. Jesus and Brandon were respectful of the space -- for example, when they had to take down some heavy closet doors and lean them against a wall, they put a cloth between the doors and the wall so as not to scratch the wall. They suggested fixes that in my mind went above and beyond, such as putting a layer of primer on the sheathing to help it resist moisture, should my roof leak again in the future. He doesn't even make it when he's supposed to if another job comes in, then he argues with the customer, yes he argued with me, and then tries to defend his own poor business practices. He'll even park in your driving spot, leave a dirty trail in your living space, and leave debris behind to dispose yourself and still charge for it. Luckily, RestorX, came to the rescue. They are fast, courteous, and know what to do without bothering the customer. They asked if they should take their shoes off, they asked if they wanted me to recycle my extra recycling, they explained next steps for what needed to be done, and they did everything so quickly before I even had the chance to move my car out of the way for them. They even quickly lugged their equipment around the long way so as not to disturb me as I worked from home, even if I would've been happy to do so for them. The Monster needs to learn from them. Don't pay extra to pay for Dirt Monster's branded van. RestorX doesn't have the prettiest company van, but they're far faster, far better and far more professional than Dirt Monster will ever be.
