Be aware that they are still working out some kinks behind the counter but I was called up and out of there within an hour. Today the gentlemen that helped me was patient, understanding and took the time to understand what the documents I provided were and how they applied to the issues Ive had in regard to my claim. After many interactions with apathetic, rude, and seemingly inconvenienced EDD staff, today's visit was a big step in the right direction that I hope they continue.

At first, it was weird because as soon as you enter the office, there's a security sitting but very helpful instructed me to take a number and fill out a paper. After my number was called, I was informed that someone will call me but not sure whether to stay or leave, so I decided to leave and run some errands. Don't try to call them! The recording will just disconnect you. You have to go to the office wait an hour (or 2) just for them to put you in the queue for a phone call with 24 hrs. You better answer when they call or else you'll have to go back to the office. After doing all that, I finally got a call... something is missing... ok cool. I fixed it. They tell me it will get processed in 14-15 days. Ugh! I went back to the office 5 times and got 5 different phone calls. Each time there's something different that the previous person did not tell me. 5 calls, 5 different issues!!!! Still no $$. It's now been almost 2 months. It's not like I have bills or anything! They simply don't care. A simple website update could fix most of this. If more documents are needed, just post a clear notification in the applicant's secure account (with 2SV). Instead, they force you into an endless cycle of calling, where every attempt ends with 'no one is available.' After days of that frustration, you're left with no choice but to drive 1.5 hours each way -- three times in the past week and a half -- just to get basic answers in person. You show up, take a number, wait, and then they call your cell from inside the office. It's absurd. The whole process is broken, wastes everyone's time and money, and traps people who have no other options. TLDR: To the people running this agency-Update your website to allow secure, detailed notifications and required document lists directly in the applicant's account. Stop forcing unnecessary drives and endless dead-end calls. Do better.
