I had originally found them on FB marketplace after my original movers bailed on me last minute. I was completely stressed out and on a deadline for the move out date. He and his team made everything effortless for me and he reassured me several times that that he was there to help and make everything easy for me, which he did. I'm really glad I took the chance with them. He's very professional, responsive, and well organized. Honestly, I was a little hesitant with others as they can be scams or you just don't know what you'll get... I had also contacted other movers as we all know that moving can be quite costly already without having professional movers, however he was priced reasonably and saved me Monet as well compared to other companies - his work quality though was NOT compromised in the least! I had to move less than three miles to another 1-bedroom apartment. I personally moved ALL my clothes, some empty drawers, a large lamp, and 15 boxes of fragile items. I left the heavier items for Ruiz (who owns Plan Movers) and 2 other of his hired movers. I have a 3-piece, antique bedroom set (6-drawer highboy, vanity, and a nightstand), a double bed with a latex mattress, 2 wicker chairs and 1 wicker loveseat, a 3-piece bistro set, 1 small wood table, 1 pole lamp, a two-shelf bookcase, a 7-shelf bookcase (which divides into 2 pieces quite easily), two small, lightweight wooden accent pieces, a mid-size t.v., a stereo set, and about 25 heavy boxes . I took Ruize's suggestion that I hire 3 workers (which included himself), and they should get the job done in 3 hours (which would be $330). The three-piece bedroom set was toped with the original glass (heavy, green tint, and VERY EXPENSIVE). They broke one of the glass pieces while wrapping it. While the mirror on my antique vanity was cracked before the move, it was still intact. But instead of moving it without separating the damaged mirror from the its base, Ruiz and these incompetent movers removed the cracked mirror by USING AN ELECTRIC DRILL to unscrew the screws. OF COURSE the vibrations from the drill completely annihilated the entire mirror. (I was in the other room moving boxes at the time, so I didn't see what the movers were doing until I heard the heavy glass mirror break and fall to the ground.) Plus they broke the wooden base that held the mirror onto the vanity. Ruiz told me on the phone that three-men should be able to move my apartment in the three hour time-frame (He saw what furniture was involved in a prior Face-time call). It took them longer than three hours and Ruiz charged me $500, which I stupidly paid them. I called Ruiz within a couple of days following the move and asked that they have a professional fix what they broke (the glass top and the vanity base board, which would probably cost over $500) or to refund the $500 that I had (stupidly) paid them. Ruiz refused. I will file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau but in the meantime I highly suggest you find other movers. Plan Movers are both incompetent and unethical. If I could give them fewer stars than 1 (like a -6) I would. read more

The truth is, I've moved 28 times in the last 18 years. All up and down the California coast. Twice, I did it myself. The other 26 times I hired movers anywhere from Nationwide Companies to "Guy with Truck" ads on Craigslist. All this to say, a five-star mover has never graced me with their services until now. 24 hours before my move, I turned to Craigslist ads to look for someone affordable, local, and trustworthy. I text the first listing that had a normal photo of a box truck, without obnoxious titles. Lucio text me back right away, and it was 9pm on a Wednesday night. I signed up for 3 guys at $110/hr. Their truck is 12ft x 16ft. They are based in the valley near Woodland Hills. He said he'll wrap my important things and that he had everything I needed. I just went with it, like any ordinary booking. There weren't any booking formalities which is what I prefer. Just good old fashioned trust and respect. They arrived on time and introduced themselves as Lucio (owner), David and Paolo. I instantly knew they were good guys who cared about their work. I have an 8ft mirror, 7ft teak table and all kinds of annoyingly large items. They wrapped everything perfectly. They also worked quickly and weren't clock runners for $$. It's important to note the respect they have for each other. They communicate and work together like family. This matters because it's the difference between your stuff being treated like crap and your stuff being handled with white gloves. Suddenly your stuff clears the corners and doors instead of slams into them- because they communicate and they aren't grumpy and mean like so many moving guys. You also hear movers complain while they're working- but not these guys. Their problem solving in tight spaces and small elevators was perfect. I can't say enough great things about them. "PLAN", I learned, is an acronym for all the names of his family members. It also makes sense for moving. I just love what they are doing and the care they gave me. If you scroll back in my reviews, I've had to leave terrible reviews for movers. It's just so common to get your stuff slapped around and ruined. Thank you for everything.
