I joined Yelp for the express purpose of rating Planet Petroleum. They have been taking great care of my car for about three years now so when I got to chat with the owner today and he asked if I would rate them, I had to do it. They are always nice and friendly and very helpful. If something is going to take a while, they'll drop me off and pick me up when the car is ready. Most important, of course, is that they do a good job and are honest. They know I'm not rich so if something can wait or there is a way to make things easier, they always offer an option. I've had weird stories from a few other places so it's feel really good to know that I can trust them. I no longer live in the area but never think twice about driving the distance to bring my car there. read more

I was searching for a truck for this winter, and I found a posting on Craiglist for a Ford F-150. I called to inquire and Pedro returned my call quickly and provided some more information about the truck and said he would wait for me to drive an hour to come and see it. After taking the truck for a test drive, I decided I wanted to buy this truck. Pedro made this process very easy and stress free. After finalizing the financial side, he made sure the truck was ready for me, by fixing the brakes, muffler and the struts, as well as an oil change and checking the fluids under the hood. He even completed the inspection to make sure it was ready to be on the road, after I added the vehicle to my insurance plan. He had originally quoted me for pickup on Saturday but because they need to get one more item needed to complete the repairs, he drove the car to my house, AN HOUR AWAY, just to make sure that I was getting great service the following day! I was blown away with how much effort has put into his business and the way he treats his customers. Pedro and the folks at Planet Petroleum have great prices and perform quality work. Under new ownership as of late 2013. The new owner is very friendly, courteous, and frequently emphasized to me that he is working hard to establish and maintain a trustworthy reputation. We purchased a used minivan from them and we are very satisfied with the vehicle. They honored their warranty with absolutely no hassle when the Check Engine light came on a few weeks after the purchase, replacing several parts in the exhaust system for free. read more

These guys are awesome I pulled in just looking to get gas and I realize that I had a flat tire something was in my tire a big piece of metal and so the guy pumping my gas told me that the guy could take me right away and fix my tire for next to nothing took the guy 5 mins and he fixed it right up and before I could even worry I was already on my way to my destination!!! A new team took over this business in early 2015. I've brought my BMW in for service twice. A synthetic oil change and the next time an exhaust modification. The team is knowledgeable and devoted to a high level of customer service. I've been taken to work while my car is in their hands and offered to be picked up. Pricing is very reasonable. I am all about supporting small local businesses, so I recently brought my truck here for an inspection sticker. The guy who inspected it told me that I had a leak in my exhaust and failed it. He asked me a few times if I wanted a quote, but my father in law is very handy with cars and has always fixed it in the past so I said no thank you. But when my father in law looked at it, he couldn't find a leak. He went over the whole exhaust a few times and just couldn't see it. So he brought it to a mechanic near him who looked over the exhaust a few times before finally finding a miniscule leak. He said if he hadn't specifically been looking for a leak he never would have seen it, and it definitely wasn't close to being big enough to fail inspection. The only conclusion any of us can draw is that the guy saw a young girl alone driving a truck and thought he could make some extra money off her... I will never go back, not even to fill up on gas. read more

My elderly friend went here for a simple oil change, they told her the oil change would be $30.00. She was charged an extra $10.00 because her oil made a mess in their garage. Last time I checked she wasn't the one changing the oil in their garage. Just because you spill something does not give you the right to charge the customer for it. If you were a hair dresser and you accidentally spilled hair dye on the floor you wouldn't charge the customer because of it. They proceeded to tell her that she needed a $100.00 part for her "leaking oil", however there are no puddles under her car, no smell and no lights indicating such. They also advised her that she needed a tune up and told her the charge would be $345.00 when the standard tune up is $40-150. She brought her car to another mechanic to check if she needed a tune up, he said she did not but if she wanted one he'd only charge her $40.00. The owner advised her she had rust on her car and she should bring it somewhere to fix it. When she brought it to another auto body shop they said she should ignore it since there was not enough rust. She went back to this place to ask about the rust again and they charged her $40.00 to duct tape the rust on her car, the process took under 10 minutes. Please tell me how duct taping a car cost $40.00. Labor per hour for a mechanic might be $19.00-$25.00 and duct tape can't be more than $5.00, so tops it should have cost her $30.00 (but not really because she shouldn't have even paid for an hour worth of labor in this case). They also called her work phone number which she never listed to check in with her, in order to continue taking advantage of her. I am beyond furious that this company would take advantage of someone who is elderly and not familiar with cars. There's no way that I would ever recommend someone going to this shop, I will actually be telling all my friends and family in the Medway/Holliston area to avoid this shop at all costs (literally). read more
