I purchased a groupon which gave me 7 treatments for $20. I had a consultation and decided to go for a massage, hydrodermafusion and redlight. Ive never been to one of these places before so felt a little apprehensive. Only when I got there did I think " should I have come with a bikini" oh well too late!! I checked in with yelp and it said that I get 10% off products but they wouldn't let me use it due to being a groupon customer :-(. I started with the hydra derma fusion. Honestly I was scared as I don't like being in tight confines but the sign said "loose 300 pounds in 30 minutes". My skin felt so nice afterwards really smooth. I moved onto the red light which is designed for cellulite and scars I believe. That was relaxing and I could have laid there longer. I was supposed to go to the massage chair next but someone else was on it so I decided to try out the hydro massage bed. You can target where you want to with this and it lasts for 20 minutes. They even care about your skin to help improve tightness, Collagen loss, and not burning when tanning causing damage. They have $20 day pass to try a ERYTHANG!!! Went with my BFF for a free spa service she won as a prize in a raffle. All the services except the hydro massage requires additional fees for equipment to use!! I would of picked the hydro massage, but my friend was using that one and I would have to wait for her to be finished so that put us into running over our time limit. So I had to pay them money to use their eyewear for the tanning bed even asking if I could just go without. read more

BEWARE! You have to cancel membership 7 business days prior to the end of the month two months ahead of time. So, essentially you are giving 2 1/2 months of notice. Then you are forced to pay the last two months ahead of time. Once your membership is cancelled (with 2 1/2 per-paid months remaining), you can no longer schedule appointments online. You have to call or schedule in person. I was also told that I could not freeze my time once I put in notice. read more

Have been a customer for 6+ years and this location has gone down hill really fast. The staff is improperly trained. Have seen a lot of change in mgmt and staff over the years. All they worry about is getting your credit card # to charge each month. No sense trying to speak with corporate, all you get is voice mail and no one ever returns your call. I went from paying $70 for 10 session to them asking for $150 for 10 sessions. I had 4 left and they expired 5 days ago, but was never told about expiration. read more

I would not recommend, this place finds a way to make their money even if it is on the edge of being a scam. I was told upon signing up that I could pause a month or two if I found myself unable to do that month, I was not told they would still charge a percent so the following month I decided I didn't like this shady business I would just cancel my membership. The girl I spoke to said they would get it taken care of and apparently did not because I was still charged extra than normal btw. I called to ask why I was still getting charged and they said I never canceled, since they didn't note it I apparently didn't do it. So they then inform me that when I do cancel I will still be charged for 2 months and told me that I was told this upon signing up, I was but they made it sound like they are asking for members to not cancel for two months not that they would keep 2 months of dues after canceling. Again shady so I asked if that was what my charge was about, she said no I never canceled that was just my dues for the month and to top it all off they would not cancel for this month either stating that I would have to call back after the 1st cancel the following month and then pay my two months. So in essence I canceled and still have to pay 4 months because it was never noted in my account that I wanted to cancel and the it was "too late" to allow me to cancel. I feel this whole thing is a scam and please be prepared to possibly be ripped off if you use this company. They provided good service but not worth the amount of money you ultimately lose to this place. I still haven't been allowed to cancel my membership as of today because they won't let me. read more

$20 advertisement for 3 treatments. Made an appt for my daughter & I for Sat 1/18. When arrived, another woman & her 2 daughters were there already on discussion with employee over same promo. Employee had to call her manager for clarification. To get to promo on services, you had to buy a corresponding product averaging $30-$35. So you had too spend about $100. Boy, was other woman mad. There is no detail stating such on the promo, on the website. Talk about a bait & switch. Stay away! Oh, some of the services couldn't even be offered as the machine/appliance was broken. I would give this place negative stars if I could. The lack of communication, unprofessionalism, and awful customer service here is the reason I will never ever give this place my money again. Coming from Metairie PB I thought this place would be similar - NOT (they need to take lessons). I informed the girl working I was getting a procedure done and would not be able to use my membership I asked her to freeze it and asked her if I would still be charged for the month she said no and that she put a note on my account. I, in turn, was still charged and when I called to ask about it, the young girl working said that I was on a list for her manager to call and that she would contact me and as I'm talking to her asking her why I was charged when they said they weren't going to she tells me I have to give them a weeks notice and is literally laughing as I'm upset and said the manager would call. It's almost been exactly a month and I've got nothing. You can keep the measly money for that month because I'm taking my business elsewhere and letting everyone know how awful you treat your customers. Being in the hospitality/customer service industry myself I'm wondering how this place is still open. When I suggest places to tan and relax to my customers, friends, and family I will be sure to let them know this is not the place to go and how I was treated. I signed a contract and when I wanted to cancel my membership (due to finances) the workers kept telling me "just come 7 days before the end of the month and you can cancel." They deliberately left out that on the contract it says you have to pay for THREE MONTHS of the membership after you cancel. SUCH BS!!!! This place robbed me- don't get tricked into any contract!! I cannot believe how outrageous Planet Beach's business practices are. While I have not used their services before, I have to share what they did to my sister-in-law yesterday. I am just so disgusted. In her words: I went into this location yesterday for a tour with Chealsea and Jesse. Instead I was asked to sign lots of paperwork and afterwards shown a binder of services. It all seemed nice enough so I decided to try it out for a month I was told it would be $99 per month, NEVER was it mentioned that I would be locked in for any period of time. I was charged IMMEDIATELY (they did not verify my drivers license with my card) and THEN I was given more paperwork to sign that looked like rules and regulations of the spa. When I went to sit and read it I was rushed and told I'd get a copy to take home. No more than 20 minutes later once I was able to read the paperwork and realized it was actually a contract- another thing that was never mentioned to me. I called back to cancel, because the contract stated that I was locked in for 24 months and if I wanted to cancel I would have to give a 60 day notice, still paying for those months, then also pay $99 more as a cancellation fee! NONE of that was ever mentioned to me! When I asked to cancel I was told "some parts of the contract aren't true", that they "forgot to scratch out some things" I'm actually only locked in for 2 months because I can put in the 60 day cancellation notice. I was also told that there was no way Id get my money back other than as a credit in an account at the spa. I then asked to speak with the manager because I kept getting told contradictory things from the 2 employees that kept passing the phone to each other like it was nothing. They told me she was out of town, they could email her, but not until 4:00. I asked them to call her and have her call me, first they said no but after I insisted they said they could try to call but don't expect a return call! I have not used any services, I do not want to, who would at this point! If I was already uncomfortable they've now made it impossible for me to ever want to step foot there again! I'd understand this situation if I had actually been notified of ANYTHING other than the price per month, if I had used any services, or had been a member for a certain period of time but this was a 20 minute window! If they can change and "scratch out" things from their "contract" then I'm sure they have the ability to cancel mine and refund me, but apparently all they're worried about is playing manager on the weekends and taking people's money! UNPROFESSIONAL FRAUDS. A year ago I went in to have my account frozen because I never went there. I specifically asked if they would call me & let me know when the 12 months was up & it was time to refreeze my account, they said yes. 9-28-16 I saw that for the past three months they were charging me the full $63 rather than the $12 freeze cost. I call to dispute it because they didn't call like they said. They told me tough luck and no one would've told me that, I was lying & to cancel I needed to pay TWO MONTHS (60 day notice) worth. I let them know that's ridiculous & I would be paying the two month cancellation but I would be calling AMEX to fight the other charges. 9-29-16 - contacted AMEX & only disputed $51 of the $63 charges 10-15-16 - I receive e-mails letting me know that because planet beach did not get back to them at all & reimbursed me the three $51 charges. 10-20-16 - I receive a voicemail from Paige who owns the store & she starts telling me she would like to work something out with me. I call her back & ask her what she would like to work out & she then tells me I need to pay her the full amount AMEX reimbursed me for in addition to $15 fees for each one that she was charged by the credit card company or she would send me to a collection agency & ruin my credit. I said AMEX is very good about their dispute investigations & tried to contact her to get proof of rightful charges or they wouldn't have given me my money back. She then goes on to tell me that she got the inquiries but she didn't realize that they were going to try to recover all of those charges so she never got back to them. I said "It sounds like you didn't do your job & follow up like you should've, thats not my fault." Then she starts yelling "I'm just trying to run a business like you are & I have bills to pay, a family to feed & my house flooded!!!" I said "Really?? This is business & we don't need to compete for pity. Handle your stuff professionally & like a responsible business & you wouldn't have had this problem. My brother in law passed away a few months ago & my families home's flooded too. We REALLY don't need to go there, give me a break" Then she says "This conversation has just gotten way too unprofessional & personal for me." Then she hangs up. I call back & she answers, "What??" I said "you're the reason that the conversation got so unprofessional & if you want to try to "ruin my credit", you will be sure to see my reviews online & my reports to BBB. *click* She hung up on me. I then tried to call them 5 more times to have her send me copies of my contracts & to speak with the owner. She literally picked up & hung up every time. Haven't been able to reach her since. 10-26-16 - Get a very threatening voicemail from "HF Holdings" telling me to call them. PB is claiming I owe them $206 as opposed to the $153 I was credited from AMEX. He told me I failed to give them a 30 DAY NOTICE (remember the 60 day notice they made me pay for?). I then explained to him that I was required to pay two months worth rather than the one month he mentioned & how before I repay ANYTHING I wanted a copy of my contracts he said, "well, let's call them" I said "I'm in the middle of something & don't have time for that and will do that on my own or if you want you could retrieve that for me." He said "It's apparent that you refuse to pay this debt & I've already recieved the approval from planet beach to report this to the credit bureaus." I said "That's ridiculous & I want to see copies of my contracts before I pay anything. Plus you're not going to scare me with that because I have perfect credit & I know how to fight this stuff." He said "I'm taking that as a refusal & we're going to ruin your credit for 7-10 years." *click* Yep, he hung up on me too. Sounds like Planet Beach and HF Holdings run parallel in the professionalism department. I, of course, tried contacting Paige at Planet Beach again, but to no avail. I'm EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED in PB. As a Gold Package holder for the past 5 months, it was recommended to me by my doctor to try Hot Yoga and I was excited this was already included in my current PB package. I went out and purchased a yoga mat specifically created for hot yoga, scheduled my time and walked in with my work out bag. Before going back I was asked if I wanted to rent or purchase a Hotworx mat and towel. It was explained that I couldn't use my mat bc it would melt into their floor and it was required that I use a Hotworx mat. No problem, I laughed it off and said sure, I'll go ahead and get their mat (insert eye roll). They were out of stock so I needed to rent one today, but the remainder of the rentals would be free since my mat was on order and I would get a 15% discount towards my permanent mat. I thought I was going to choke when I was told my total was $98!!!! WTH?!? Is this mat magical???? Now I'm on the hunt for a used Hotworx mat bc I REFUSE to give Planet Beach almost $100 for a freaking yoga mat! I'm all about capitalism but the profit margin on this is beyond ridiculous! Please do not do business with this place. I was charged over $700 after not signing a contract here. The manager Paige acknowledged that I never signed a contract. She told me it had to be a mistake with one of her employees. Then to compensate for charging my debit card without my permission and reporting me to collections as the account had been closed and I had no idea these charges were being made, she offered me a "free" membership. It is not free if you stole $700 from me. I left a review on the facebook page, a lot of people came forward commenting on my review as well as sending me messages about how they had similar issues. She then blocked the reviews from view on facebook. She wont answer my messages or calls. I do not want this to happen to anyone else. I was also told by mulitple people that after the same thing happened to them, they agreed to the "free" membership, and they were conned into signing a contract for the free membership and once again charged for a membership. It seems as though they do business by forcing people into fradulent contracts. read more

I am incredibly disappointed in Planet Beach. I was a member there for almost a year, but I should have never signed up. Not only did I experience poor customer service,but the staff was incredibly rude. They did not notify me of a price increase to the recurring charge on my account. Additionally, the bulbs were always burned out, face tanners did not work consistently, and the Mystic tanner was broken several times. I don't think they changed their bulbs in the entire time I went there. I am usually easy to please, but the experience I had with them was ridiculous. Go elsewhere. Go to the Mandeville location!!! This location is terrible compared to the others in old metairie and mandeville. The mystic at this location is the old one, and it streaks! their other spray booth is AWFUL!! The Mandeville location is cleaner, has the mystic HD (the BEST booth bar-none) and it's $89/month unlimited use of all services, and no charge for mystic color bottles. SWITCH YOUR MEMBERSHIP TO MANDEVILLE. And if they hassle you, call the corporate office. They helped me do that. read more

I purchased a tanning package for my husband for our 3 year anniversary. He was excited to get back into the swing of things, as we just had a beautiful baby girl. Taking care of ourselves was back on the list. However, he has had nothing buy unpleasant customer service each and every time he has been to tan. I have since cancelled the membership - gave my notice 61 days in advance, but the front desk employee informed me that I was one day shy and would have to purchase an additional month. Oh, and the employee who sold me the package was no longer employed there. There was no point in arguing the contract that I had right in front of me. I just want my husband to finish the package so that he can go elsewhere to tan. read more

This place is an absolute joke. I cannot think of one positive thing to say about this business. They are a scam and will do anything to take your money. My sister in law was a member and they will stoop as low as sending you to collections just to get your money if you have a balance that you are not aware of. Not to mention how filthy and unsanitary this place is. I was a member for a few months after I was called for a "free spa service" don't fall for that either it's just a scam to get you to come buy something. I went in frequently and I watched how the rooms were never swept because you could see the same dirt pile for months just pile up and the fingerprint residue on the inside of the tanning bed from the person before me. EVERY TIME.The spray tan is a waste of money I would recommend to go to any other place but here. When I tried to confront the manager about my feelings I over heard them even the owner talk about me from a service room expressing that they will not do anything to help. I have been a member of planet beach for two years now, but my home spa was Belle Chasse. I've never had a problem and always felt very welcome and have always been treated extremely well at that salon. I decided to upgrade my membership so that I could use any planet beach location. It was only an extra $10 a month and I was moving for school to Covington, where they have another planet beach, so it seemed like a great idea. It was great until I actually went to the salon. From day one, the employees seemed annoyed that I chose to come to their salon since it wasn't my home salon. They treated me like I was a bother, and a waste of their time. The walls separating each spa room are not full walls and do not reach the ceiling, making it very easy for you to hear people talking in the other rooms and on multiple occasions I heard them talking about me. Also, you are required to make an appointment to tan there. Which is understandable, but for someone like me who works in the service industry, you never really know when you will get off work. The chances of you getting another appointment for that day if you miss your first one are nonexistent and even if you do make it to your appointment, they usually have you wait still. One time I wasn't put in my bed, that I had an appointment for, until 35 mins later. Doesn't sound like much of an appointment to me. The employees there are very rude and do not care about serving you or making you feel comfortable. They would be happier if they never had to bother with you in the first place. Oh, and I tweeted one day out of aggravation about this place and one of the girls that works there found my twitter and showed her manager, who then tried to get on her staff about the poor service. When the girl realized her boss wasn't angry with me for the post but angry with her employees instead, she took it out on me. I even saw her, Taylor, and one of the other employees, Chelsea, out one night and they went out of their way to humiliate me in the bar about my "inappropriate" tweet complaining about their customer service. Hm, I wonder why I complained! My advice is to stay away!!! For the money you pay, it's not worth the hassle! I do, however, recommend any other planet beach, the facilities and services are always wonderful and the customer service is USUALLY great! The Slidell and belle chasse location have always been a relaxing escape for me. read more
