I've been a black card member for years and haven't had any real issues with the amenities besides this past year or so. Every tanning bed has multiple (more than 3) lights out. Stand up bed 7 that I used today has 12 out! What's the point of paying more for the amenities when they aren't even kept maintained? Just like when the red light machine was broken the last time I was here (previous review). I will be reaching out to corporate since local management does not keep this one up to standard. I know I am able to use any planet fitness but the Aberdeen location is my "home" gym I signed up with and shouldn't have to drive to further locations to get adequate working amenities. read more

My wife and I rejoined today after being away for a few years. Calvin did a great job of helping us through the membership sign up and giving us a thorough tour of the facilities. He was extremely friendly, patient, helpful, and thoroughly knowledgeable of all the equipment. We are very happy to be back and thankful that Calvin is on the team. read more

Mostly a nicer staff but a better gym then Abingdon, cleaner bathroom and no peak holes to the tanning bed rooms. less teens just goofing around on the equipment and way less broken out of order equipment. read more

Unfortunately Gabriel Rodriguez removed my membership based on a lie from Dylan at the Abingdon location. I was super excited to be a member at Aberdeen and even made custom nameplates for the staff like Will, Carly, and Olivia. read more

I use the gym early in the morning and almost never have to wait to use equipment. However, there have been many occasions that I have to take a cold shower after my workout - not a great way to start your day. I've only been coming about twice a week for a couple of months but apparently, after talking to some friends, this has been an ongoing problem. Please consider purchasing a tankless hot water heater for this location so your members can have consistent hot showers. read more

Used a treadmill and the locker area at Planet Fitness as I was passing through the area. The treadmill worked great and had the locker room to myself that morning! The lockers had their own locks which was pretty cool. I had intentions to go back in the afternoon to get an additional workout in but they had closed early due to the weather! Great place to workout, it gets kinda crowded during afternoons but friendly and clean, the only thing is that they don't have parking for e-bikes or bicycles...out in front of gym...especially if one wants to workout late nights or early mornings, when it's not busy..overall it's a great place to workout for seniors. read more

Just had the worst experience trying to sign up with employee "David" while a new team member shadowed him. David had a chip on his shoulder, was short with me while speaking and he spoke in the lowest tone; almost a whisper. I kept asking "what did you say" & "I'm sorry I can't hear you" but he decided to be ignorant and David continued to speak in a low tone. He DID NOT want to help me and I no longer want his assistance. He let me know he gets off at 10pm tonight so I will make sure I sign up when he gets off. My hope is to never encounter him again. read more

The gym itself is nice and spacious. The workout areas, bathroom, and equipment are new and clean. I love that there are combination locks on the lockers so you do not need to bring your own. My only gripe about this place is my experience this evening with the front desk staff. As a "black card" member, I requested to use a hydromassage lounge chair after I completed my workout. The female staff member informed me that the next one would be available in 2 minutes. I told her that the brief wait was fine. She asked me for my first and last name and appeared to be typing something in the computer. She then asked me to take a seat and she would come get me when the hydro massage lounger was ready. 10+ minutes later, I approached the front desk to inquire on the status of the lounger. I was told by the male staff member that he could add me to the list and it would be approximately 2.5 minutes. I declined being added to the list and explained to him that I have already been waiting over 10 minutes when I was initially told there would only be a 2 minute wait. He apologized for the mix up and offered a regular massage chair (non-hydro) for me to use. I appreciated that he apologized and offered another option, but I still felt upset that the female staff member told me it was a 2 minute wait. All things considered, this is one of the better Planet Fitness locations in Harford County, I just find it infuriating when a staff member over promises and under delivers. If the wait is 10+ minutes, state that up front to allow the potential user the opportunity to decide whether they still want to use it or not. This shows that you value the member's time and understand they have other things to do than spend all this time at the gym. Members have things to do such as making dinner for their families, picking up kids, etc. Lesson learned, estimate the time you think you're going to be finished with your workout and schedule it in advance to avoid this (hopefully). read more

I enjoy this location more so than the Abingdon location - it has more space - it's more diverse- plenty of machines available so there's no standing around waiting - The Black Card member room is pretty nice as well - TV station and just the ability to take a break - the staff are friendly and answer any questions- the other members aren't antisocial so it's a good time working out read more

Very clean exercise areas but the night shift staff is very rude and judgmental. A young man who works there by the name of David made me feel very uneasy and was very unpleasant when speaking with me. Didn't really feel like I was in a "judgement-free zone" and that's what Planet Fitness claims to have in their gyms.. You guys need more friendly staff for the night shift. read more

Really well maintained Planet Fitness, keep up the good work. As a black card member, I've seen my share of mediocre PF franchises. This is not one of them. Lots of strength training equipment that is spread out, easily accessible and not off to the side like many other locations. Equipment is always maintained and unless you're there between 4-7p, there's never a wait. Men's lockers come with their own locks which is great and showers have improved--no cold water issues this winter (though Inner Harbor location has better shower heads). Staff is very friendly. Only small gripe would be to have members swipe themselves in, otherwise keep doing what you're doing! read more

Love this gym! Way better than the PF's I go when I'm not near home. Always clean and staff is very nice! Patiently waiting for the hack squat machine.. free weights not as in dumbbell but squat rack other than smith machine, also a sauna would be awesome too! Just praying and waiting read more

Planet Fitness makes it affordable for my whole family to stay in shape. We have been members for 5 years and have found that the Aberdeen Location has had the best customer service. The store is always very clean and the equipment is in good working order. Dave the fitness instructor always provides input if you ask him for help. After 3 years at the Aberdeen location I can't think of anything to change. I would have to say great Job by all! read more

Joined Jan 6 to have a gym where I could exercise and shower before going to work. Had first wrkout Monday, Jan 9, when temperature poutdoors was 15 degrees After exercising I found no warm or hot water in the showers. Had to take a cold shower. Complained at front desk and was told owner/manager was coming in to fix the problem. Second workout Jan 10; showers worked fine with hot and warm water. Other members in locker room said lack of hot/warm water is a recurring issue. Third workout Jan 12; only lukewarm water. Not cold, but no hot water. reported problem to frotn desk and asked that it be addressed. Fourth workout Jan 13; no hot water and very little warm water. Stopped at front desk and told clerk that I needed someone from management to call me about status of repairs so I could have assurance of no more cold showers in winter. Clerk wrote down my complaint and then told me with a straight face that management would call me. I asked the clerk if he knew my name or phone number--he admitted he did not. I made him write name and number down on the complaint so someone could call me. End of workday I returned to Planet Fitness after receiving no phone call and cancelled membership. The new clerk on duty did not ask why I was cancelling. Planet Fitness of Aberdeen does not provide an environment for a professional to exercise and clean up and dress for work, and does not seem to care about customer satisfaction or customer service. Cancelled my membership after one week and they could care less. read more

This gym is located in the "Aberdeen Marketplace" Shopping Center, with some statewide businesses, you know, the hotels within walking are national chains, this is a travelers and locals area, just off of Interstate 95, (will give the exit number at another time). A regional baseball stadium nearby by as well. Also not far is a state park with camping, and a few cabins. It's a good stop if your going to be in the area, and your not a local and need the services of the nearby fast food and other sit down restaurants, retail shopping, or grocery store. Don't believe there's an active military base in the area anymore. There are four different shopping centers at the intersection here. The gym was fine, but I moved from the area and had a very difficult time cancelling my membership. The staff gave me bad info on the process and I sent documentation that the management lost. And then they refused to compromise on the mistakes they made. Very unprofessional and disappointing. read more

I have been to several PF's to work out and have found that the Aberdeen location is the most condusive to my needs. Heather and her staff are very professional and always take the time to smile and encourage!!! There are all fitness levels of people working out there and no one intimidates or pressures anyone. The facility is large and is kept clean and functional. Parking is easy and equipment available, even with large crowds. read more
