They let me come in with crocs on all the time but then sometimes tell me I have to change my shoes. Today they let me in, I finished over half of my workout before the manager said that I needed to change my shoes and that she would be putting a note on my account. The fact that they let me in just to add a note to my account is considered entrapment. The manager of this gym acts more like a school principal than a gym manager. Here is proof of me wearing crocs while benching. They are supposed to say something at the door. And because she started her shift halfway through my workout and she's the only one that enforces this policy is not fair to gym goers. Write me up again. Great first visit at the Asheboro PF location! I'm a habitual Planet Fitness joiner and then life happens and I have to cancel my membership. The last time I got pneumonia for 4 months and was stuck with a lot of medical bills and I just couldn't continue. I told this to the staff member checking me in for the first time and she told me that you have the ability to pause your membership for 3 months if you're facing troubles (financial or otherwise) and it's the first time I had heard that. It was nice of her to share that with me, but I'm hoping this time I can stick with it! I do the black card membership. At $24.99/month it allows you to visit any PF location (not just your home club location), access to the spa (massage chairs, hyrdro massage and tanning), bring a friend any time, and 50% off drinks. I'm sure I'm missing something, but for $10 more than the standard membership, I feel that's worth the money. I'm hoping to be able to go a few days during my lunch break to the location nearest my office. The layout of this Asheboro location was VERY nice, with different parts of it being back further and you feel like there's a bit of privacy. They have separate rooms for stretching, 30 Minute workout, and targeted machines. I love that they offer some of the newer equipment and especially the rowers. Some locations don't offer those and rowing machines are some of my favorites for cardio. Looking forward to coming back but it'll have to be after this round of flu leaves my house. read more

Overall I'm pretty satisfied with this location. I do like that it has the updated massage chair which was really nice to see but on the other hand they have the older style shower. It's as clean as you would expect any planet fitness to be and with the same basic equipment. 4 stars for this one until they update the shower. read more

As of 12/20/2023 you were notified of my request to cancel this membership. You acknowledged receipt of my cancellation yet continue to charge my account. Further I spoke with the desk agent via phone recently who refused to deactivate my account due to an "outstanding balance" for which there never should have been since the 2023 cancellation. I have never live anywhere near Ashboro and have NO IDEA how I have a membership there. You are on notice with my Bank of America account to cease charging me. After BOA blocked your drafts, you fraudulently accessed by Chase card and charged me $68-plus on 4/22/2025! I have now reported you to Chase for fraud and theft. I have reported you to the NC Dept of Justice for financial fraud AND theft. I can only imagine how many other cancelees you are fraudulently charging! I don't really see a reason for the high number of negative reviews. My experience has been great. I moved here last year and transferred my membership to Asheboro. Yes, transferring your membership is a total pain in the rear, but it gets done. I find the staff very friendly and helpful. The locker room is cleaned every morning while I'm there and it's easy to deal with. I find the machines clean but I also wipe them down before and AFTER I use them. I do know that some people can't seem to be bothered wiping off their sweat or maybe cleaning up the toilets. That's not a staff problem but a customer problem. I have one suggestion, add something like the history channel. The shows tend to be an hour or less and the topics are always changing. I get enough of the news and sports already and I have zero interest in the fluff of the other channels. Give me something to watch that's interesting. All in all, it's a great experience in the mornings when I come in. read more

I recently moved to the area and was excited when I saw that planet fitness was back open! I was super nervous about it being a new area as I had grown accustomed to my PF back home. The trainer and staff immediately made all those nerves and anxiousness dissolve and showed me around the gym! I was so excited there were so much more than my gym had to offer back home (a standing tanning station, more massage chairs and beds and it was actually closed off so you could relax from nosey eyes.) The showers are actually open here and they're nicer, AND they have more free weights and a PF 360 station! They always greet you when you walk in and as you walk out. Everyone is ready to assist in any way possible. The times aren't 24/7 at the moment but I'm completely okay with that. I just plan my day to fit it in my schedule. There's no excuses when you REALLY want something! 5 stars!! read more

Started out with a pretty good experience signing up (of course) But now I'm in another state for several months with a family emergency and I will need to cancel either in person or a letter. Pretty happy with this particular location in Asheboro conveniently located off the main highway. The staff is usually consistent and friendly; some staff are much friendlier and welcoming than the others but it's fine. My normal times to workout are from 8am-11am and I usually don't have a problem grabbing a bench or one of the smith machines. Plenty of cardio equipment and everything is spaced out well. Definitely not a cramped gym at all. The tanning rooms and massage bed areas are usually clean and tidy; only once did I encounter a tanning bed that didn't look like it was wiped down in a while. Love that they have a couple of stand up tanning booths! My only complaint is that I wish they would've put up some full length mirrors in the tanning rooms and the locker rooms as well. People love their "before & after" shot gym selfies sooooooo if there's a gym renovation in the future, would love to see that. Thank you! read more

This planet fitness will rob you. I signed up and they didn't give me a card and then after the first month they started billing me late fees. I canceled the subscription. After 8 months they started billing me again. I didn't really like the gym i just needed a place to work out. Now knowing they have to steel from me I'm guessing they have bigger issues read more

This place is too extra, giving pizza and donuts to people who wanna lose weight. And also that alarm that sounds is annoying

Great new gym in Asheboro. People are always so friendly and will help you in figuring out how to use the machines. The trainer they have is great as well. The only con is going anytime between 5-9 its slammed, so good luck getting a machine. Some people don't know or don't care how to use the 30 minute circuit properly. Staying on the same machine through several light changes or someone just walking up and taking the machine next to you when it's your turn and completely screwing up your workout. The sign says that employees watch the area, but they don't. I've been there everyday since the beginning of January and I have never seen an employee watching the area or telling someone to not cut in front of someone else and not stay on the same machine FOREVER!! It's a pain in a** dealing with these ignorant, selfish people. Of course you have the lazy people that can't clean the machine after they have sweated all over it. But on the plus side, the employees are always vacuuming and cleaning each and every machine and they always greet you when you arrive and as you are leaving. read more

Went in to find out about this new gym in Asheboro. Man behind the counter said he couldn't give me a tour or info because he was busy and had to stay behind the counter. As he was talking, he passed me a paper so I could sign in. I told him I didn't want to sign in as I was not sold on the place yet. Looked like a way to get my email only. Told me to "just look around" and he'd sign me up. Offered no other alternatives. I told him it was a shame they had no time for me or my son. Left. Not friendly. Seemed preoccupied. Another employee stood and watched all this happening. Must not need my money. read more
