I am one of the 4 AM crowd so please take this review with a grain of salt. It is never that crowded (again because I go early in the morning) and workers are always friendly and make sure that this place is well-maintained and cleaned. There were a few times though where the paper towel dispensers were empty but otherwise, they do a great job in making sure we have what we need. For the most part, guests are good at wiping their machines down before and after use. There were some that don't and WE SEE YOU. Please be courteous and respectful enough to wipe down the machines after using. The bathroom is also clean and organized. Love that everyone is very respectful in the locker room and bathroom area. Additionally, if you are a black card member, their spa room is also amazing. I've tried the cryo machine and it was amazing. I recommend this place! read more

I called because of an annual fee that was unexpectedly debited from my account and he told me I should have read the disclosure when I signed up and hung up the phone. The facility is great. Lots of great equipment, clean, new, staff was friendly enough. But the temperature of the facility is way too hot for a good workout! It should be below 70°, as outlined by the international fitness Association. No one wants their workout to suffer because the temperature is too high. A hot gym is a grumpy gym! read more

The general manager Jeremy is one of the worst people I have dealt with in over 40 years of service in any gym whatsoever. I came with my wife to the gym and she had a guest pass as a black card member. Then I went to the car to get my water and withing 30 seconds they where trying to kick my wife out of the gym for me not being present. I came back asking what's going on and Jeremy told me I need to check with them every time I go anywhere or energy get my water at the gym. I told them I don't need to tell them if I come and go and he was telling me if you don't like it I can leave and never come back with a very rude manner. I've been a member long time and I will never step foot in the gym until this so called manager who's clearly on drugs come talk to me and my wife that way. Only reason it's not a 1 star is because I haven't heard of any car break ins here like the other locations (most likely due to the surrounding businesses all having cameras). This gym has outdated equipment and the locker room showers are always extremely dirty. I'm assuming it's because the water pressure is almost non existent. I've complained to pf about this before and it's been over a year and they've done nothing to fix this. Who wants to workout before work and not be able to shower properly?? My desire is for the owner to return the Planet Fitness brand of water to the gym! Visited this club on a long drive and wanted a shower (one of the perks of being a Black Card member). The club is on the smaller side but looked like it had all the usual equipment. Everyone looked like they were getting a good workout in. I really like the locker room, it was very spacious, clean, and had good lighting. I liked the showers as well (although 2 of 4 had broken handles). I liked the rain shower heads. One complaint, there were no blow dryers in the men's locker room. We like to use them too. Would be nice if PF added blow dryers to all locker rooms without them. read more

Wonderful PF gym. Conveniently located close to the freeway, this gym is an easy pitstop to get in a quick workout. The gym is spaced well and with a huge cardio area, free weight and weight machine area, 30- min workout area, abs and hips area, black card spa and a 360 area. Cleaning stations were strategically located throughout the gym. At the time of my visit, it was not crowded so I didn't have to wait to use anything. All of the equipment was clean, and in good working order. I really appreciated how the patrons kept the gym clean and wiped down the equipment after using it. The female locker room was modern, clean, and decently sized. The shower area had curtained shower stalls and dressing stalls for privacy. Staff was friendly. read more

Before come to gym , I had call to ask can I have free class , and the guy on the phone assuredly- yes I can , I took uber and came , but the girl on front desk , told me they don't do free classes any more , and I have to pay 22 $ for one time . Love this gym! Just started going and it is clean, well fanned, air conditioned, and plenty of machines. I love the no "lunk " alarm meaning no do*che bags and that there are hardly and people at 0500! The hydro massage tables are amazing and oh so relaxing! 4/5 stars because I have to shower after so I can go directly to work. The shower heads are extremely terrible and spray everywhere. Also, it would be really handy to have a couple hair dryers in the bathroom! Overall I'm happy with this gym and will continue to go but will never stop complaining about the shower heads until they are changed!!!! read more

The facility is very clean. They have all the traditional equipment including: treadmills, ellipticals, stairsteppers, and a great 30minute circuit. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The black card is definitely worth it the membership spa is awesome you can do the water massage beds, tanning, and massage chairs. read more

Don't know where to start but, this so call gym is the nastiest, grimiest place there is. Everything about this place sucks! so called manager, worthless employees and the list goes on. There are posted signs everywhere telling you not to this or that but every one does just that. Members wearing street clothes to work out in, bringing gym bags on floor, wearing street shoes and Crocs. Why would you post it all over the place and not enforce it? Spoke to the manager there numerous times about members taking over an hour on a machine or leaving weights on machine without wiping down and never did a thing! Ridicules how filthy the place is and even talked to a person they call a mentor that walks around watching employees dust machines. Key word "DUST" not wipe clean and sanitize! This place runs itself not the alleged manager there how he claims. Will be taking this to a higher level being this can't be addressed by this place. read more

Great basic gym. Very comfortable atmosphere. No intimidation. Not too crowded. Nice employees.

The workers are mostly nice, except the women are usually rude to me(21f) and other women I bring to the gym with me, like my mother or sister, but very nice when I bring male friends with me (aside from the wonderful red haired lady she's awesome) and I love the wifi connection, the amount of treadmills, and the locker rooms are always so clean. My only issues with this location is three things. 1) Too few squat racks: there are four total and so many people are standing and doing nothing or using a rack for over an hour, when some of us just want to get a few quick sets in before work/going home and there's nothing you or any worker can do about it. 2) there is a rule against using cameras in the locker room, but many don't follow it. It may be because I'm a woman and many girls want to take pics at the gym, but when I'm trying to change and they want to take these pics in the locker room despite the giant sign saying not to and I'm in the background in my underwear... I'm extremely uncomfortable with that. 3) the area is horrible. My car was broken into (glass shattered on my window) and when I asked the manager for footage (I was parked in the five front parking spots in view of camera, yk which ones I mean if you've been to this location), he said that the cameras didn't really work/ didn't capture someone damaging my car. I will post the window damage below; they stole my car charger, a bag holding my work clothes, and some other small car things I had inside (microfiber rags, a bra, perfume, my jack kit, etc.). Most issues revolve around the location and the clientele, but if you don't care about that, it's a great gym for you. I cancelled my membership because I no longer felt safe parking my car and I couldn't enjoy a workout anymore because I was so paranoid someone would destroy my property again and I'd have to pay $200 for a workout session (meaning I pay to fix whatever damage was caused during my workout). It costed $70 to cancel, after I've been a black card member for over a year despite me being told otherwise, so keep that in mind. Just really consider what is important to you before deciding to join here. It may be worth it to get a membership in a better location with less people for a bit extra, because the cost of attending this gym for me total, for one year, was $390, when it's advertised as the cheapest access to exercise needs. It's a nice location, alot of parking. Tons of machines to choose from, even thou every so often a few of the treadmills are down. Signing in is fast and easy, expect when you have a guest and the phone number isn't local The locker room/restroom has been always clean when I go in. The Black card spa is small but nice, love the water massage table, helps relieve tense muscles after work out. Some of the machines do have crumbs and dirt on them, but I wipe things down before and after I use them. The staff has always been friendly when I talk to them. read more

I was in town overnight and the next day I was looking to get a workout before continuing my trip to San Diego. The 24H Fitness near my hotel was closed and the only other nearby gym was Planet Fitness. I've never been to a Planet Fitness and expected to be less appealing; however, to my surprise, the gym was well equipped and very clean. In fact, much cleaner than the 24H Fitness in the Bay Area that I regularly use. The young lady at the counter was friendly and explained how membership worked; but I told her I wasn't from the area, she said I could use the gym free as a first timer. I must say after this visit, I plan to join the new Planet Fitness that just opened near my home in the Bay Area. Signed up for the black card membership yesterday and went yesterday at 10 PM for the first time. It was the worst gym experience I've ever had. Every smith machine and bench was taken. Every lat pull down and row machine was used up. It was so crowded that there was no room for standing weight exercises and all the dumbbells were being used. They say "you'll never wait in line." What a joke. I plan on paying the $60 and canceling this membership today and sticking with Sculpt 365. Wish I hadn't stepped foot in this place. read more

Back in Bakers and have to keep up with my work outs. This is another gym that my prime-fitness allows me to use. Signing up was easy and fast. The gentleman that assisted me was knowledgable and provided me with excellent customer service. The gym itself is new so of course all the machines and weights are top notch and good quality. It does get busy, but there is plenty of machines to go around. Very nice gym and great location. read more

Today I had my wallet stolen out of a locked locker. One of the employees on duty refused to cooperate with me and the police. Elizabeth is probably the person who facilitated the theft. Enrique (the manager) has yet to contact me. I have learned from the police that the woman who stole my wallet was operating on another stolen identity. Apparently, the gym did not confirm her, like they did me. This woman stole more than$1800 while I was trying to get the gym to cooperate. Elizabeth refused to give the police access to anything. Oh and she lied about "checking on" things and where and when her manager would be there. I am suffering from ovarian cancer, I usually don't bring my wallet, but I had DR appt. read more

I like Planet Fitness because of their affordable rates and the simplicity of services available. Been a member at this location for a few months now. Nice, helpful and friendly staff working here. Never really had any bad experience with staff. In house trainer, Robert, is very great as well. He helped us out a lot when we just first started coming here and took several classes with him. I like the atmosphere, clean bathrooms and locker rooms and equipment is always maintained, fixed or replaced when needed. This location does get busy during the week at certain times of the day. Still never really had any issues even when I come on busy times. read more

I've been a member of several different gyms in Bakersfield over the years, but this one is my favorite. It has a wide variety of machines and weights to choose from and the most treadmills. Machines are quickly repaired if they break, and otherwise well-maintained. While most gyms will advertise that they are cleaned and disinfected, this gym actually is. Every time I go there are employees mopping, restocking paper towels and disinfectant and vacuuming. They don't just vacuum around the treadmills, they stand them upright and mop underneath them! No dust bunnies to be found at this place. Last, but definitely not least, Planet Fitness promotes a tolerant, "No judgement" atmosphere. The aggressive grunt-fest that echoes around other gyms is nonexistent here. The only reason I am not giving this gym 5 stars is that they still don't have classes started back. I just joined last week. I was impressed by the cleanliness and the fact they enforce mask for everyone's safety. I was looking forward to using the PF Express 30. It's a 30 minute full body workout. You switch to the next machine after a minute at every section however mostly everyone was using just like the regular machines. I kept having to ask people to move because it was my turn. I told 2 staff members and was told they couldn't do anything about it. I was pissed. So what's the point of having this section if you can use it like the rest of the machines. I'm already considering changing to another gym. They could at least have a conversation with the members. read more

I previously had membership at the White Ln location, but love this new location exponentially more! I like the fact that it has newer equipment, and the gym does not feel over crowded-yet ;) It's next to the Barnes & Noble along with the neighboring eateries and restaurants. I can have my gym fix, book fix, and food fix all within the area. Overall a nice Planet Fitness branch, and I have no complaints! read more

Got my car and wallet stolen here and staff doesnt even know what to do or care. And just spoke with the assistant manager and no one told him what's going on. No communication within their staff. Dont feel safe here anymore. Definitely not coming back or being affiliated with planet fitness. I'm fully aware they're not responsible for lost or stolen but they broke into my locker and stole my wallet and keys. So just want to let people that attend this gym to be aware of who's working out next to you. This happen on a Friday between 11am and 12 noon. I mean it's a good gym but I expected more out of Planet fitness since I'm Paying for a service.. I was in the shower and I looked to Notice the shower Curtains had really bad mold as they haven't been changed in months. and its all THE SHOWER CURTAINS. Nasty asf. I have even told the worker about it and he said "we just have someone clean it" I mean clean it???
