Here there is always a spray bottle and rag within a few steps wherever you go in the gym. Plenty of treadmills. Gets kind of crowded around the free weights. The 29-minute circuit course has become my favorite routine. I just wish some people would respect the circuit part of it and not hog one machine for ten minutes.

The room where they do Zumba and Bodypump is huge. The instructors are great, I attended Berto's class last night, and he was great! I can't wait to attend another Zumba class of his! The check-in staff is always so friendly. They always greet me when I walk in and say bye when I walk out. VTL training goes on right in the middle by check-in, so it is pretty loud. After a class, sometimes a friend and i like to sit at a table at the front to relax and talk, and it's hard because the VTL has their music really loud.

However, sometimes she has us move from one side of the pool to the other, which can be a little difficult if it's full of people. The last time I was there though the hot tub was closed off and the family bathroom was also closed off. In the Women's locker room one of the showers couldn't be turned on, another couldn't be shut off and the water was running cold. The one I used could be turned on and the water was warm but the water couldn't be turned entirely off. My son came with me and said in the Men's locker room there was no soap available in the provided dispensers in the showers. He said though they were difficult to turn on they functioned okay but one of the hot/cold indicators was loose. So considering how much membership costs, they really need to do a better job keeping the place maintained.

Yes, you still have to deal with the stereotypical annoying gym people. The guy with the hoodie on who looks like batman slamming weights, the girls doing "leg" exercises snapchatting the entire time, and even the guy doing speed rope in the dumbbell area. Oh that's right, don't forget the guy with headphones on rapping louder than he should. Besides that, staff is hit or miss. Some have an inflated sense of self while others are very helpful. But the shining stars are the rock wall staff! They'll help you strap up, coach you, and help you conquer your fears! You go rock wall staff! Best gym in Bakersfield!

I've gone a few times already during buddy week and I still haven't made up my mind about actually joining but I love how the staff does not pressure you on joining or gives you a hard time about continuing to go during buddy week and not joining yet. The staff at the front desk is always so friendly and just kind. And the instructors I've had are awesome. They are all different in their teaching routines but they all give you a great workout! I literally have walked out of there, limping and for days iam sore in my arms and quads. The place is a huge open room and it does get hot in there but it does have fans going. During the workouts, people are able to go as fast and as hard as they can and it really does seem like a no judge zone. For the month of August buddy week is ending tomorrow but I will be back for buddy week next month with my co worker who is a member!

In a time where one of the top priority as a human being and parent is safety, I had the unfortunate experience where my teenage daughter had to witness a person who was allegedly attacked by one of the employees of your facility. This attack came after the person made a complaint regarding one of the trainers, which I was a witness of such complaint. This event makes me afraid to voice my own future concerns and I no longer feel safe in this facility. Regardless of the current or previous situation between the affected parties it comes to the bottom line that an employee had a physical altercation with one of your paying customers.
