Grindhaus Bakersfield.

I love this gym. The staff relay knows their stuff and the gym is well equipped. Special shout out to Coaches Greg and Sam! They tailor your workout to meet you where you are, they encourage you, hold you accountable and do it all while making you feel at home instead of just another member being herded through their program. The magic is really in the small groups and the coaches. 5 stars all around!

Professional and dedicated are two words that come to mind when talking about Grindhaus! Coach B does an incredible job making those who walk through the gym feel up lifted. Blake has created a positive culture for all types of athletes and non-athletes to come together and achieve their goals. Grindhaus creates programs that cater to the individuals needs. The attention to detail on the programming cannot be beat! Blake has helped my performance both in and out of the gym. I am stronger than I have ever been (I was a body builder previously and was not nearly as strong as I am currently), and daily activities have become easier. I have learned a great deal from Blake and towards the ending month of my training I had the opportunity to intern with Blake. He has allowed me to shadow him while coaching which has lead to an even greater opportunity to become a Coach at Grindhaus starting in the summer of 2020!!

Any book you ever read on the word "success", regardless of the context the word, you will find that most professionals had a mentor or a coach. Prior to meeting Blake and marrying the most amazing woman in the world, I had been lifting weights and self educating for 10+ years already. It was not until coach B entered the scene allowing him to completely train wreck my thought process of getting strong and help me get dialed in with an extremely wide array of different exercises and important compound movements to which I saw major improvement physically. Anyone that has earned the title "professional" guaranteed has someone behind them in the shadows helping pave that path. I strongly believe that whats going to separate this facility from a basic gym is the relationships and intentionality. In other words? You can't just workout here like you would on your own at a normal gym. There are many "trainers" out there, but let me tell you off the bat, a lot of them don't actually know what they are doing. I've been witness to coach B absorbing knowledge any second he can about new programming and exercise material. He's a coach that leads from the front and gets in the trenches. The bottom line, is that this facility and the people in it want real success and real results. It's the cool kids club. If you're reading this and want to take your body to the next level not just aesthetically but functionally as well, this is the place to be.

This place is too cute; it's aesthetically pleasing! I…read morethought it was the coolest thing that they have showers and lockers The place is clean and organized and it's honestly admirable since it's a gym with lots of members ! Everyone is very friendly and helpful. There is a variety of workout to choose from that consist of straight, endurance, power. Strength that consist of building muscle using TRX bands and dumbbells . Endurance that focuses on burning calories using the treadmill, rower and floor work. Power that is centered on speed and agility using rows and treadmill for an explosive exercise. If you're looking for a cute spot to workout this is it!

This is the first workout I've actually enjoyed! Normally I'm the person wandering around the gym…read moredoing random things because, honestly, I have no idea what I'm doing. OrangeTheory completely changed that. The coaches are amazing--super motivating but also patient and encouraging, which makes a huge difference. I also love how inclusive it feels here. You see everyone--young, old, big, small--and it truly feels like a space where anybody belongs. The workouts are structured, fast-paced, and fun, so the time flies by. The only downside for me is getting into morning classes. As a parent with a young kiddo and a full 8-5 job, the 5 a.m. classes are the only ones that work, but they're always tough to book. Overall, though, it's such a great workout and atmosphere. I'm hooked!

This In-Shape has been my Bakersfield home gym since the early 2010's and has always given a good…read moregym experience . I love all the recovery options offered at this location. The steam room is one of my favorite amenities, and I really appreciate how good of a job the staff does at maintaining the cleanliness of the steam room. I've also become a fan of the cryolounge recently. It's a great and comfortable way to get some cold therapy. I'll even do some remote work on my phone after my work out while chilling on one of their cryolounges. Their staff is very kind and attentive. They always have a welcoming smile and are sure to say bye on the way out. They're consistently cleaning the towels and do a great job upkeaping the equipment. This In-Shape location has a good selection of free weights and machines. It can fill out a bit at peak times, but I have always been able to find a way to get a full workout in. I do wish they had a dedicated space to stretch, do yoga, floor based workouts, and cardio such as ladders, boxing, or even dancing. They had 2 dedicated spaces for this when they first opened this location, but these spaces are now used for group classes. The larger room on the base floor is still available for free use when classes are not scheduled, so keep an eye on the schedule if you want to utilize it for your workout. While I miss being able to do all the activities mentioned before in those rooms, it is great to see the rooms utilized to their fullest with the group classes.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel parents deserve to know what to expect…read more I enrolled two children in paid swim lessons at In-Shape Seven Oaks. These lessons are not included with my membership. They are a separate service that I paid for, so I expected them to be run professionally. Unfortunately, the lesson started about 25 minutes late and ended 20 minutes early. My children did not receive the full lesson that I paid for. That is simply unacceptable. After I raised my concerns, several other parents shared that this has been an ongoing issue for them as well. One family told me this was their third week experiencing the same problem and that they had already brought it to management's attention, but nothing had changed. That was the most disappointing part of this experience. I do want to recognize Carolina, the swim instructor. She has been wonderful with the children, and this review is not about her. It is about the lack of organization and accountability from management. Seven Oaks has a reputation for being one of the premier In-Shape locations, and I expected much better. If you're going to offer paid swim lessons, they should begin on time, end on time, and provide the full instruction that families are paying for. Parents arrange their schedules around these lessons and spend their hard-earned money expecting the service that was advertised. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and makes the necessary changes so future families receive the quality of service they deserve.
