Nice gym. They keep things fixed and clean. The reason for 3 stars is staff does not keep people moving along on the machines. People sit on their phones forever between sets. Staff should walk around & ask if they are ok and please keep moving, as others are waiting. The gym is constantly getting busier - good for them, they like the $$ & don't care about keeping things moving. Also, asked 2 front desk girls for help with machines & they were oblivious & wouldn't come help me & literally said they don't know...useless. read more

Luckily i was able to get a spare key but i went back and was at the door and the manager, Deli, refused to give them to me as i was right there. Came from San Diego to visit some family here in Bakersfield and wanted to find some time yo gym. Came across this gem for a day pass and was immediately pleased with all the equipment and cleanliness each of it had. First thing I noticed is how HUGE it is. However I noticed that some amenities were closed and was told by others that they've been closed for a while such as the sauna. The plus side is that they had an extra sauna so that was nice! I used to be a gym member, but when I moved, I canceled my membership at the gym I was at. However, the cancellation never went through. I tried calling the gym location to get help, but they told me I had to contact corporate. Unfortunately, I couldn't reach corporate, so I decided to wait until I was back visiting Bakersfield to do it. But I never got around to it. A year passed, and I finally called the gym again and spoke with a manager. They were able to reimburse me for my annual and one-month membership fees. It's ridiculous that it took me a year to cancel my membership. We should be able to do it from our app! This is a clear example of how you're making it difficult for us to pay for your services and take our money! It shouldn't be this hard. read more

I am updating my review because overall it is a great gym. There is a lot of things this gym has that other gyms don't have such as the movie cardio room. I don't go there often, but I do sometimes to warm up. The tanning and massage beds I do use. I usually take Zumba classes and ujam classes. I pretty much stick to dancing because I have a lot of injuries and the instructors are really good. There are still a lot of things. I have not tried out in this gym, such as the smoothie bar or the yoga room, pretty much this gym has everything. No I have been a member of planet fitness and I am currently a member at INShape and I would recommend this one over the others. I really wish they would open another location. read more

Just finished my second year at Chuze. I finally joined a yoga class. Mostly I have been running on the treadmill. The class was well taught and I will try another. The staff is friendly and they have lots of classes and fitness options. Good luck finding parking in the evening. read more

I do not regret moving to this gym. Just adding $4 to what I have been paying at my previous gym was definitely worth it. I absolutely Team Training classes (especially with Coach Liz!) and is highly comparable with the VTL classes that they have been offering at my previous gym for double the price! The MORE membership also comes with unlimited Zumba, yoga (including heated yoga), BodyCombat, and U-Jam, which are all at the top of my list! The sauna and the hydromassage are also perfect additions to my membership for some much-needed after-workout relaxation. I could even bring a friend with my membership! While parking and the crowded area can be a problem at times, those are minimal in my opinion, considering the perks one could get from this gym. Off-peak hours are the key! read more

Chuze Fitness is a very affordable gym with many amenities and classes offered. I love how there are many squat racks and bench press machines and just everything. It really lessens the waiting time for people since there's about 6-9 squat racks there. The gym comes with rooms for various workout classes and a steam room and sauna room as well as a cinema room with various cardio machines inside. I really like this room because of the different movies playing everyday and how cold it is. But I think my most favorite part of the gym is the smoothie/shake bar!! I've probably tried a different drink on the menu every week & my favorites are the Mango Crusher & Strawberry Slam!! Highly recommend. Overall this gym is nice and spacey with many workout machines to use. Very clean with many sanitizing wipe stations placed everywhere in the gym and the staff is very nice and welcoming! read more

NEW GYM, OLD MACHINES? I'm so excited this gym is finally opened after it's long awaited arrival and many push-back dates. This gym looks new and trendy! Although.... lacking in cardio, this gym doesn't have nearly as many treadmills as a gym like Planet Fitness. Also, The treadmills look very old style and are have fans that are full of dust it looks so nasty! And also, half of the treadmills are broken! For a new establishment, that is not a good look. Some of the machines have scuff marks that look like they are worn in. It would have been nice to have new machines, did they just get all this equipment from the liquidation outlet? Otherwise, it's cool here they also have a movie theatre with some cardio in there but it feels kinda warm in there. They have an outdoor area that's spacey. Also, they have an area to order protein smoothies. Overall, a bit disappointing experience from a highly anticipated gym. EDIT: Day 3 of their opening, the sauna broke down. read more

Not very satisfied with this gym, I like it because it has a pool and sauna and like going on a Sunday it's not even 7pm and I get the staff saying it's closed, I feel the young people that work there wanna close it way early so they don't stay too late at work to clean and it's not the first time but today's generation don't wanna work but I will be canceling very soon, who ever is running that place needs to step up their game. Been going to the gym for a long time, I used to go to the 24hour fitness on rosedale but, it closed down. Then I went to planet fitness since it's was cheap and it was open 24/7 It wasn't until I came to Aldi that I noticed the gym and decided to check it out. Definitely a great gym, plenty of cardio machines, I like that they have a separate area for the more and max members gives it a more private feel. I like the outside area, although they could add more things back there maybe a giant mirror with more dumbbells and more racks with plates. Also they can add another cable machine like the two that are next to the restrooms. That would alleviate a lot of crowding in the inside dumbbell area. Also I'm not sure if they have a stair master in the movie area but a couple of those would be clutch. Also they need more mirrors all the way around Like one set by the inside grass area on both walls. Small touches would make the gym even better. Also another cable machine in the inside. If you move the seated calf machine to the right and move the the assisted and leg lift stand to the right you can add another one also move the existing ones to the left you can make it work. Get more robe attachments and metal single arm attachments Also they took down the white board with the question of the day so maybe put that back up it creates a better sense of unity and participation of the gym members. The gym is very clean and I can tell they try to keep it clean . The pool is nice 3 lanes 25yds most of the time not in used as well as the jacuzzi. They have two saunas one steam room. I like the massages chairs and movie room pretty chill hardly busy in there. All your basic needs covered. I appreciate that they have a security in the night hours that shows that they care about their members. The parking lot is always packed due to the chick fil a cvs in and out aldis and smaller stores. It is what it is on that. They do keep the wipe down wipes stocked all the time. I want to give special recognition to Raul who works at the front desk. He has a positive attitude and very outspoken in positivity. He has helped me countless of times with questions. Definitely a manager type and I always see him working hard. Needs a promotion and yes all the other staff is great I always get greeted on the entrance and exit so that's a good custom that they are doing. Gym would get a 5 star is it was open 24hours but, I understand payroll gets expensive. read more

I've been coming here since it opened. In the beginning the staff was super cool and sweet. Lately though I void interacting with them, they either have attitude or don't even acknowledge you when you try to talk to them. Also it gets WAY TOO PACKED to the point that there's no equipment available to use. Plus I pay extra for the massage chairs, outside area and sauna but it seems like anyone can access them. Me and my husband have signed up here when it opened and we absolutely love it! First off, Anna, Sam and Mercedes have literally been our first official babysitters since day one. They set the bar high with the care, love and attention they give to our 2 and 3 yo daughters. The 5 stars goes mainly for them in Kids Club. They always have a smile and stay positive and upbeat despite having over 20 kids there every time we come in. Overall, this gym has been the best gym experience me and my husband had. Trust me, we've been to all the main stream gyms in Bakersfield as well as some of the best smaller gyms you can find on Yelp. If you have children and love a clean gym come here! Really good gym, just wished they were more efficient at fixing broken machines. Also the treadmills suck they are not properly calibrated and they randomly turn off mid run. What I do like is the amount of squat racks they have and the amount of dumbbells and weight plates. read more

Alright so, My brother and I Both finished the 7-Day Free Pass, and over all... LOVED IT. Good Vibes all around, employees are really nice, everyone in there I getting their money, they have basically everything, Machines, free weights, Tons of Squat racks, Cardio Equipment, and an Indoor and Outdoor Turf area! When you wanna cool down from your work out, you can take a Warm-Down walk in the treadmill or other equipment in the Cinema room... a literal Movie Theater room for Gym peeps. Haha My brother ended up getting the "More" membership, this also includes to use the swimming pool, sauna and steam room, and unlimited Guest pass, one person can only go with you but if they leave you can have another friend come to use the guest pass and work out. For a new business you'd think they would train or hire more competent people. Called to check on using a free pass and was planning on moving from in shape to to Chuze. The girl answers the phone and asks me to hold briefly. 10 minutes later still on hold. If they can't help me with a 5 second question imagine a 13 month contract. Very nice new gym. The employees are very friendly and helpful, especially Raul! Every time I come in, he greets me with such a smile saying, "Welcome, friend!" as if we have been besties forever. :) The first time I used the massage chair, I had no idea where to go. He stepped away from the front to go show me how to unlock the door with the app, go into the room, and use it. He was super nice about it and is just a genuinely kind-hearted person. He again went above and beyond today to help me clear out my old guest passes and things that were messing with the scanner: I had no idea this was even an issue but he was proactive and noticed it and fixed it.
