My parents wanted to sign up with me for a membership at planet fitness. I originally go to the Nile's location but my parents live over on the South West area so I come to this one here and there with them. Nile's is nothing compared to here! The staff are so friendly and there's 2 in particular that I love to communicate with one is I believe Alissa and the other is Matthew, they say they are part of management and I sure hope so they make me and my parents feel so welcome! My parents comment on how clean the gym and locker rooms are and I agree it's 100x cleaner here than anywhere else. I just left the facility with both parents and it always leaves my mind to leave a review so I finally did it! Oh also a fella named George we spoke to today regarding a fee my parents were charged we got it resolved but he is really funny and sweet made my dad laugh and that's difficult to do ha! read more

I really want this gym to work out cause it's so close to my house but I'm starting to feel like management is letting this one go. A lot of the machines are always broken and the wifi seems to only work when it wants to. The bathrooms are always a mess and I've only seen them clean it late around midnight. They ask you to always clean the machines before and after use but the spray or the paper towels are always out. I told a staff once that the middle spray and towel is completely gone but he just nodded. It remained empty for the entire time I was there. Unfortunately this is the only gym near me but if a 24 or an LA fitness opens up I'm ready to jump ship asap. There are a lot of potential open lots for them to move into and I'm really praying they do cause I'm kinda tired of this gym. read more

Not even a year old and at least 10 machines are out of order for over a week. Why don't they fix them? The cleaning stations are always out of paper and hand sanitizer, I don't bother trying to clean the machines anymore. read more

Not to shabby, gets a bit crowded around 5pm, would like to see a bit more ventilation inside, gets a bit stuffy but for the low cost what would you expect. Definitely worth the price that they charge. read more

This PF is by far the worst in Bakersfield. The restroom is absolutely disgusting. Doesn't look like it's been cleaned in a month. Girl up front does not say hello or thank you, in fact, I think she's on the phone every morning. read more

New member from a couple months ago. I've bounced around to different gyms in the past couple years due to work. Since I've started going to this location after work, it's hit or miss. Most people are friendly and nice, but then sometimes you run into the groups of people that think they own a piece of equipment you've been waiting in front of, while they wait on the other side of the gym and when it finally becomes available they jump in front and sit or start adjusting the bench or bar, all while saying "they've been waiting 30 minutes for it." They look at you and proceed to ignore what you say. Hopefully something can be done about these individuals if reported. read more

Easy to use equipment with little instructions on each machine or area. The real reason for the 5 star though is what comes with the the PF black card member access! Water massage chair/beds for when I want to almost fall asleep after pushing myself to a new personal best. Stand up tanning beds so I don't have to worry about laying where someone's butt was and even out my watch tan. A red light vibration booth idk much about it but I feel like a pretty cool guy when I'm coming out of it. But the biggest reason I swapped from in shape to planet fitness is the personal trainer. It won't cost hundreds of dollars like some places to get on track and have a guided workout. I came to Justin (he is this planet fitness' trainer) and we got to work! Now I see him at least 2-3 times a week. And I can keep eating out and leaving reviews for places. The sessions are also more than just am hour of pumping iron. He asked about injuries so he knew what to work with. We also spoke about diet and things like that during sessions. Get on in there folks! read more

Most machines are in disrepair, cable is off, rings to make adjustment missing, timers not working, etc. When you tell staff, they say it's already in the log book. What good does that do when the repair person never shows up? Another member was told the machines are under warranty. And? One machine has been broken since the first of the year! Members deserve better. Also, staff should stroll throughout the gym and remind members that the machines are to work out on, not for social media matathons! read more

By far the most horrendous experience I have ever had with a gym. I wish I could give them ZERO stars. It honestly almost brings me to tears how upset I am with this establishment. How can staff be so comfortable with taking people's money and doing shady things to keep charging you monthly? I tried to cancel this membership in January. They sent me auto renewal fees late which caused my bank account to overdraft and I wasn't able to get a refund because the auto renewal date was almost week before I even got charged! When I asked the manager how I can get help with a refund she said I could fill out something online and all customer service would do was direct me back to their facility. So how does anything get resolved when you have incompetent staff and a good for nothing customer service team?? Please keep reading. With no help and an over-drafted bank account, my fiancé and I took the loss and asked that both our memberships just be cancelled. Thinking everything was behind us, I get charged AGAIN for one membership Apparently I only cancelled my fiancés and just decided to keep mine after asking for BOTH memberships to be cancelled The lamest excuse I have ever heard: well your accounts have the same bank information but they're not linked. BOLD.FACED.LIE. One, we created a joint account that's why it's under the same card and two, WHY would I make a big deal to get TWO CANCELLATIONS to only have them cancel one membership. Planet fitness is a joke and I'm tired of getting ROBBED I've canceled my membership numerous times in person and phone I was promised by a manager he would personally take care of it and issue a refund sense then I've had 68 taken out for membership fees and monthly dues taken three times in one month I'm tired of this and am now about to take legal action!!!! read more

This place is super nice because it is brand new. It is clean and always has cardio machines open/available. love that they are open 24hrs even in a pandemic. I think this really helps those that want to work out but avoid large crowds. read more

The best planet fitness in town by far. One of the Cleanest gyms I've been to and I constantly see workers cleaning equipment they are very on top of it! Plenty of machines but the only problem I have with this location is the lack of adjustable benches in the free weight section. That's really just a preference though I can't knock them for that because overall it's a great gym! read more

Love everything about this gym except some of the people at the front. The people a the front desk used to be so nice, but recently some of the girls who have been working have greeted me and my group with such negative energy. Particularly the girl with the freckles was extremely rude and passive aggressive any time I had any questions or needed any equipment or assistance. Definitely needs to work on customer service at least a smile or being a little friendly to paying customers. read more

Sucks. Staff really doesn't care about anything. WiFi is terrible. No reception in the area for some reason. Most members are on their phone taking up space. Spend the extra $10-$20 and find a better gym. read more

Website CLEARLY stated you can pay to work out for the day "to see if it's a fit for you"....I was denied entry even though I could and FREELY OFFERED TO pay...the reason given was liability reasons...the manager couldn't "find any forms for me to sign"....friggin joke....guess I'll join Body Exchange.... read more

Signed up because of the 24hrs aspect of this gym. Upset that my car got broken into probably could've been avoided if the employees didn't park in the front spaces of the gym, save it for customers please. Secondly stair climbers are shot out only like 6 work properly. Last thing is Cell service sucks here! lol I know it's knit picky but the WIFI they offer lags tremendously so I use my cellular service and it is horrible. Other then that it's an ok gym. read more
