The last time I complained about the water filter being clogged, the management changed the filter almost immediately which to me indicated that sourcing the filter is not the issue. The filter is clogged again, down to a trickle. Been clogged, still clogged as of last week (that is the last time I worked out). Basically, the front desk says the manager knows it's clogged and they told me to come weekdays, office hours, to complain directly to the manager. I work during those hours so instead I will leave this review. It boggles the mind to see so many people working out in a place with no drinking water. Are you, manager, trying to force us to buy bottled water? Why can't this be on a schedule and the filter changed before it clogs up? read more

I enjoy planet fitness. This is the one I visit most often. I go in the evenings around 7 usually the machines are free and there are enough where they group I go with can all be near each other. The one complaint I have is people don't put equipment back in the right place. But other than that we enjoy our workouts when we go read more

I miss the days when the gym was for adults. Too many kids fooling around in the gym all the time. If they do have to be there in the summer months it should be during school hours. What a difference a year can make. I was dreading my return to this PF based on my last experience. To my surprise as I entered PF I was greeted by Malik. The place was clean. Out on the main floor and in the men's restroom. All the equipment was clean, no stray plates, mats, or balls; everything was in its place. PF personnel were busy cleaning or available at the front desk and greeting members as they walked in. Great job to the managers and gym personnel who've turned this PF location around. On Saturday, Dec. 7, I went to @planetfitness at 5201 Bel Air Road to work out and not even 50 minutes into my workout I come outside and saw that my car had been broken into. The front passenger window was completely shattered and co tents stolen from my console. I contacted the police and then I asked to see the video footage. I was informed by the young and obviously untrained staff, who looked like deer caught in headlights, that the manager is the only one that can access the video footage. Understandably so, I then asked for management to be contacted. The staff member's response was: "This happens all of the time at this location, we are trying to do something about it." There was no attempt made to assist myself or the police in obtaining video footage or contacting management. I have never been to a business establishment where there was no access to management or senior staff. I am a returning Planet Fitness member. I returned because I enjoyed the facilities and prior to this incident, felt as if I was able to workout in a safe environment. Instead, what I was met with was a lack of assistance, leadership and professionalism. If break-ins are a normal occurence at your facility, due diligence should be exercised to protect your patrons. Having security patrol the parking lot would act as a deterrent. However, to say that you are "trying" to do something about it but well aware it is a normal occurrence shows lack of effort or regard for your patrons. I shouldn't have to be concerned about my vehicle being vandalized, broken into or my safety when trying to be healthy. I should not have to find alternate means of transportation for fear of parking my vehicle on Planet Fitness property. If there was a malfunction in the building the staff would contacted the manager Lashelle Washington expeditiously. Instead, my request was disregarded with little concern. I'm a black card member and my experience @planetfitness at 5201 Belair Road has left much to be desired. This heavily weighs on Planet Fitness as a brand. read more

I ONLY go there when I am getting my car worked on nearby, bec. my mechanic does not have a good waiting room. Most of the emps are nice enough, but a few do not seem to get that customers are the reason they have a job. I realize that it's a cultural thing to scream at the top of your lungs at your friends or family while you're working with other people in a small enclosed space or talk to a customer, esp. one that's older than you, like the person is a child. MOST people would consider these things abusive and just plain POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. There is a way to talk to customers, and it's a shame that repeated incidents here will keep me from returning here, unless I'm really desperate. Lol Sad how ghetto this whole area has become. This planet fitness ALWAYS has something BROKEN. Now they have 4 step machines and ONLY ONE WORK. They have 4 weight benches and ONLY 2 are USABLE. SMH!!! Management needs to get on board with staying on the equipment being fixed in an accurate time fashion. It's no EXCUSE! This particular Planet Fitness attracts plenty of people. I was told by your staff to come in while recovering from surgery. I was told there was no other way. This was against doctor's orders. I did so with the help of a friend. My problem was not solved well at all, so I ended my membership. I do not trust your staff from both personal experience and the five unanswered complaints from the BBB. read more

The worst Planet Fitness location I've been to in and out of state. It's always clean(the restrooms are improving), but the 5/10 rule doesn't apply at this location. No matter how clean a establishment is if the customer service is lacking everything else goes unnoticed. Employees don't greet members on the floor, associates never welcome guest(always scanning myself in), and fail to ever say goodbye. The only way I'm able to tell the employees from the members is due to the uniforms. We have to do better. read more

Where do I begin? I encourage any who reads this review to 1st read the comments of the Owner regarding this Planet Fitness Location. Nothing could be further from the truth. And the many reasons why can all be traced back to an Inept, Incompetent, Woeful excuse of a General Manager. Aided and Enabled by an Equally Terrible Senior Regional Manager. One who could care less about the "Gyms In The Hood" he Manages. One who among other things condones Harassment in the workplace. Based on acceptability due to good work performance. When I brought to his attention the many things wrong with said Gym. I was told I threw my Manager under the Bus. Shame on me for not being a Team player. I guess I just threw him under the Bus too Huh? I'm speaking only of the Planet Fitness of which I was Employed. All posted rules are subject to being broken. And consistently are. It is to the Managers discretion as to which rules will be enforced. And upon whom to enforce said rules upon. A Manager who is indifferent to Members and Staff alike. Rude, Confrontational, and Argumentative with Members. To the point of her having to have Police intervene on her behalf. Hiring of a Fitness Trainer after months of Members paying for an unavailable service. Broken machines plague this facility. With a Repairman that fixes two machines per visit when there are more than a dozen broken. Only to not be seen again for days or weeks. Some of these Machines pose a Health and Safety risk.. Gaze across this Gym and you will see a facility sorely in need of upgrades and repairs. Outdated Black Card Spa Amenities. Also in need of repairs. Or dare I say replacement? Golden Ring sure is Lucky. Oh That's right different Franchise. This Gym did get new Massage Chair covers though. The Members & Visitors of this Location Deserve and PAY for much better. And no one should have to work under such conditions or Management. To be fair, my Manager did do ok on Payroll, Sometimes. Though it would behoove her to do so as it's how she gets paid as well. Be assured that it takes a full undisturbed shift to complete said Payroll. Undisturbed by Members and Subordinates alike, With a stern warning. You might think a post of this nature from a disgruntled former Employee is just sour grapes. I assure you it is not. I Genuinely Loved my job at Planet Fitness. As I Love the many Members, regulars and visitors alike. And the last thing I wanted to do was be Fired from that job. It is to my detriment that this be the end result of my employment with Planet Fitness. It seems being quiet and letting things go. Is better than working hard and caring about one's job. Actually that's something I was told, and it certainly rang true. Loud and Clear. Which I'm really ok with. It's much better than the Smoky Haze that Location is being Managed under. My experience here was horrible. My account was charged with no notification. When I canceled my membership the young lady there was unpleasant. I was told in order to get a refund after canceling my membership that I had to contact customer service online. When I did that I was told to talk to the home location. I called and had an even worst experience. I spoke with a manager who did not seem knowledgeable at all. I was put on hold three times and was told that the general manager said that they could not help me at this time. She never got on the phone to speak with me. I am a new member after being at Gold's for several years. I changed to PF because I can walk to it. I gave up classes (I liked yoga and spin) but for $20 less per month, that is all I gave up! PF is really nice -- bright, clean, colorful, friendly staff. I really appreciate a clean restroom. And friendly staff - they were duds at Gold's. Plenty of cardio equipment and weights. I think weights only go up to 65 lbs -- fine for me. They have several strength training sessions 5 days a week. You sign up with up to 4 others with a trainer to work on a body part (legs, abs, back). I also really like the 30 min circuit strength training area and 15 minute ab area. I paid $39 to join and $10 a month. There is an annual fee -- $30 ish. I heard that there are deals for lower joining fees a few times a year. So far, one thing I see lacking is a need for more area for stretching. Other than that, I am happy there! read more

Worst of worst. I called and came in over a month ahead of my membership renewal to cancel . I was told I had til the end of May to cancel and that it was to early while I was in there to cancel so just wait. I told them I don't live near that location anymore and they already had a mixup with my accts. Well guess what I got charged a renewal fee on May 2,2019. So I called and was told well there is nothing they could do I would have to wait til the following day to speak to a manager. I explained my entire ordeal and the lady was like ummmm I can take your name and number. I haven't used the membership and I tried to cancel over the phone and in person and your charging me oh and she told me it would be another fee I would have to pay because it was pass May 1. Now I had a regular membership then changed it to a black card a month later in June that's why I was told to cancel at the end of May oh and was told in march if I did it while I was there it would be to early. Now who am I to believe I guess I picked the wrong gym. Oh and yes I called corporate and left the message on Pf online contact comment. read more

This planet fitness and all planet fitness gyms are a mess. The bathrooms are completely black camouflaging the aged bacteria on toilet seats and shower stalls. I also had to ask for sanitation wipes on more then one occasion. Also for whatever reason they would rather employ men instead of women which means prepare to have a man walk in on you in the locker room. This actually happened to me at this planet fitness. In, fact this planet fitness still employs that creepy man. Take my advice and join another gym other than planet fitness. I have actually joined Fitness Evolution, and have had my planet fitness membership cancelled. I got a free pass to workout and I get a complete body building experience with some of there cardio machines having Tv's. Also, I know I get a nice clean sanitary locker room each day, because I don't see bacteria growing, and I see the cleaning lady come in each day. Look people they are trying to become the walmart of the fitness industry. Trust me you will find other gyms have lowered there prices just to compete with Planet Fitness. read more
