I have been a member of this location from the first day it opened. From the very beginning there has been a problem with people leaving locks on lockers preventing other members from using those lockers. Over the years I have expressed for myself and other members how annoying this is especially for those of us who bring their work clothing with them. I finally have waved the white flag and no longer go to this location. If you need a locker even at 5am my usual arrival time this club is not for you find another location. read more

My third PF gym and also one of the busiest gyms I have gone to. This place comes with 1.5 floors. The first floor has all the machines, spa, and locker rooms. The upper half floor has all the cardio machines like treadmills, ellipticals, and arc trainers. It also has space for mats up here. Honestly would like it more if it wasn't so hot! Also, because this place is consistently crowded, the time allowed on the massage chair is only 5 minutes. read more

After being a member for TEN YEARS i got permission from MULTIPLE STAFF to transfer home gyms for shorter than 90 days to help my elderly father. I came back to an issue doing so but the main idea of this encounter was the disrespectful unprofessional and inappropriate behavior of gm towards myself, other staff and behind another staffers back. After ten years of being a loyal customer, getting 4 family members and more friends and coworkers than I can count on my hands to join this gym, I was treated like ultimate trash by your gm. I was told that I could transfer membership of my home gym from ny to ct for a week while my husband and I had to help my father in law. What happened when I arrived back was a disaster. The GM of bensonhurst location began to berate me and tell me that all of the staff who had already guaranteed this move were wrong. She couldnt care less and refused to help until I made it clear I wasnt going to walk away. I have spoken well about PF and referred many and also feature PF on my Channel convincing followers to join the no frills affordable gym as they follow my health journey and weight training progress. In return I for a GM whose little power of running a local gym has gotten to her head. She was clear to have no people skills , no client skills, no concern and no knowledge of what can even be done. She lied about how to transfer it and then we finally got the ct gym on the phone who made a fool of her and fixed the issue. I have worked in client services for years and while unfortunate things happen, that is the opportunity for the managers to rise above and know their job. Here the gm wasnt even doing the bare minimum required of knowing her own policies. She had me go on the site then the app then played around like a foolish school child where she tried to figure out what to do. How on earth is this person training others? Then when I mentioned where I got info from I mentioned one person because I remembered her hair color but also told her that MANY staffers told me the same. GM rolled her eyes at the person named (red hair) blaming it on her as if she wasnt surprised. This is disgusting to see. The red hair girl is among the kindest most positive person who work here and she does her job above and beyond expectations. She gets people thru the door. Clearly there is some jealousy issues here. Lastly as a manager myself I know that a bad manager is the most toxic thing that can happen to a company. With the way she treated me, the way she ordered her staff around and the roll eye about red hair I can see thats whats happening here. How dare she insult an employee to a customer. The dynamic now shows to us this gym is a mess and the management cant even respect their own staff let alone the public. read more

Absolutely horrendous. The water fountain had a nasty brown residue upstairs and the downstairs one is even worst it has black mold near the spout. This can not be safe for the customers! The fact that there's so much people in this gym shows that the location is making profit but why is the quality so horrible? Tonight I went there, there were two staffs on the counter talking but no one filled the paper towels all three on the first floor was completely empty. This planet fitness is at a very convenient location, right by the train station. It's great that it's very affordable, much cheaper than the other gyms. Actually I think it might be the only gym in this area. Yes, membership is very affordable, but I don't think it means machines should always be broken! And they stay out of order for months. Decent spot seems to have more weight machine than most around. Only thing planet fitness needs is to ease up on the emotional part of clients and keep it 100 and enforce a hygienic code. I joined this gym over a year ago, as this is the most affordable and decent gym near home. However, the worst time to work out is during peak hours (5pm to 10pm), but this is the time when most people who work day jobs are able to go. Equipment/machines are poorly maintained for cleanliness and usability. I counted five treadmills that were not functioning, two of those five have not been working for at least a couple of weeks. I almost always find junk such as paper towels, and empty bottles left behind on the cardio machines when I am going to work out. Staff are quick to help with refilling the sanitizer bottles and paper towels, but only when someone asks for these things to be refilled. They are not refilled proactively. In all honesty, I plan to utilize this gym for cardio only, until I reach my weight loss goal. This gym is not ideal for weightlifting because of the constant competition to use the equipment. This location should consider restructuring or reorganizing the setup to allow for more equipment for weightlifting to accommodate the high volume of people using it during peak hours. read more

Unless you don't work a 9-5 job and you are able to come here on weekday afternoons, I really don't advise coming here. Loads of under age kids with no parents. Locker rooms are sticky, rusty and they smell. There was also a dude throwing up in the sink, and spitting on the floor. If you plan to join the Bensonhurst PF during the summer, bear in mind that your monthly membership fee will not get you any actual privileges in the club, since the Summer Pass program admits any teenager for free from June through August. This, coupled with the Two-for-One policy of Black Card memberships, and a densely populated neighborhood, makes for a seriously crowded gym environment day to day. The weight equipment is mainly tied up during *busy* hours (most of the day).The staff are very responsible about cleaning and providing information, and they can't be expected to supervise all the kids who work out in groups of 3 or 4 even though the rules stipulate 2 people per machine. The crowding is stressful every day and crazy on the weekends--just see the line of people waiting for the club to open on Sat or Sun at 7 AM. Members have no priority over the many free users at any given time. This Saturday (6/8), any member can bring a free guest, more of Planet Fitness's generosity at the expense of paying members. read more

Horrible experience! If I could rate a 0 I would have done it! A guy named Dean is super rude, unfriendly, and a pervert! Always checking on people when they come as if someone has done something bad. Every time he's there, there's never toilet paper, paper towel, hand sanitizer, and disinfectant. There was one incident when he went inside the female's bathroom knowing that there were several women inside and he proceeded to ask if anyone was "indecent". Instead of waiting for everyone to leave the bathroom he decided to go in. I was changing when he went in! And that day there was a female staff present!!! CONS: - Crowded especially after work hours; weight machines are always/usually occupied - not enough space for stretching area on the 2nd floor NOTE: - TVs are hung up high on the ceiling unlike Wall Street Location. there's always something with this gym. it's the only one in my area that's less than 2 miles away so I have no choice but to go. anyways i have the black card and I bought it for the muscle recovery machines like the hydro bed. i don't know what they did but when I use it i can't adjust the pressure at all. any other planet fitness hydro machines allows me to but for this location... it don't matter if I set it to 10 it feels like it's on 1. then on top of this their cardio machines is always broken. it should never be that half of your treadmills are out of service. The last time I wrote a review somethings did get fixed but someone needs to come in and reassess this gym. read more

Planet Fitness is a great neighborhood gym if you're just getting started and trying to avoid a high price commitment or you're just looking for the basics. At its cheapest, PF is just $10 a month and you get access to cardio machines and weights. There are plenty of treadmills and ellipticals and there's a second floor dedicated to cardio and stretches. A common complaint for this PF is busy almost at all times of the day. I usually go before work from 6:30am-7:15am, which I find to be really pleasant. I've seen how packed it can get on the weekends and I can only imagine the weekdays during peak times. Overall, you get what you pay for. While the equipment is generally kept clean, other services and details (like being out of paper towels) leave things to be desired. For $10 though, it's a great price for beginners and casual gym goers. FYI you do have to commit for a year to get the $10 price. read more

I sign a paper here which was one year membership not an unlimited membership because they keep charging and no one told me that, until I go and cancel the "one year" membership. And the first month after one year membership they charged me and $40 fee. So I go cancel today but those money they take from me and I never was there to be honest. that's annoying read more

I've been a member to many gyms so I knew when I joined here it would be severely tempered down and more low key catering to more casual fitness enthusiasts then hardcore gym people. And that's fine. BUT, gym is always packed. Also, at hardcore gyms you can share equipment. Here people do a set on the machine then pull out their phone and play around with it. Sometimes they will occupy a piece of equipment for 15-20 minutes and not move from it switching from a set to their phone! But that's not the real bad problem. The real annoyance is how many treadmills and cardio machines do NOT work! Kinda unbelievable!.. Also, a few cable machines don't even have pins! I had to go to the front desk to ask for one and they couldn't even supply me with one!... This is my home gym and it's a huge disappointment.. it is difficult to adhere to a specific regime because you can never get to use the equipment because of the crowd(s). So I usually wing it and grab whatever I can... wwaaayyy too many treadmills broken. Also, how is there no shoulder lateral fly machine? read more

Today was pouring outside and I was waiting for my Uber inside when I found out the gym was closed. Then one of the staff members, who happened to be a black man, came in and started cursing at me with some pretty nasty words. He accused me of pretending not to hear him and kept on cursing even though I apologized and explained that I didn't hear him ask me to leave. He was acting really aggressive and it was super scary. I was shocked and now I want to cancel my membership ASAP. This gym is usually a safe place, so I'm surprised they would hire someone like him. Can you help me identify him? I've had gym memberships and make it my business to go to different locations to see if I am getting what I pay for. This location comes up short of an upscale gym. The machines are well kept but there are so many people during peak times, it's rough to stay warmed up. However, I will admit, they have a lot of machines at this spot, so you won't have to wait too long (especially since cardio machines are conveniently located on both levels). Like all gyms, there's a scent of sweat in the air. I seriously wish gyms had better air quality control. The locker rooms look like any high school locker room. I have never showered here before and I don't think I would ever. Just doesn't scream "clean enough." Staff on site are "okay" and the reason I say it that way is because some have this dragging their feet vibe to them. Come to this gym with a routine or you're wasting your time. This gym is locate right by a good subway station! I don't expect much from Nyc gym. It's always going to be pack no matter what time you go, but I don't mind at all. This gives me more motivation to look and wait for a bench or equipments I can use. This gym is open 24/7!!! It's very affordable only $10 per month and if you have the black card. You can bring a guest with you every time you go there. The locker room is lol! There are so many lockers that needs to be replace or fix. Just opened and I have been going almost everyday. Honestly staff here is great. They are always so helpful and always smiling and amazingly remember my name before I even give them my number. Very clean gym, equipment is kept clean. Lockers rooms especially. I have been to other gyms before and even the ones that are brand new are never clean for long. I have never dealt with such horrific service in my life. Their associates give members wrong information and then the gym ends up charging you after you have already canceled your membership. They are not service oriented and there are not helpful they force you to walk in to resolve issues instead of being helpful. Very affordable gym where you pay for what you get. It can get really crowded at certain hours (usually around 7pm-9pm or early afternoon). There is free wi-fi that is splotchy when it gets crowded. If you are unlucky, you might catch spit on the floor or gum in one of the cup holders for the treadmill. For the most part, this gym is clean and convenient with its hours. Pretty nice showers, and considerate of the gym to have a personal changing room that's spacious for those who are sensitive about their bodies! read more

So far so good - they just opened today and I pre joined as a black card member for 20 bucks a month. Every thing is brand new. And very purple. They have massage chairs and 2 water massage tables that you can use for 10 minutes. Also 3 free tanning booths if your into that cancer causing stuff. Nice locker rooms with showers. Though there are no sauna or steam rooms or pool..that's fine. A lot of cardio machines and there are free weights too. No grunting though or you will get tossed out on your gorilla ass. Hope they keep it clean , but for 10$ a month you can't beat it. We will see. read more

If you need a place to do runs in preparation for a big race, but continuously deal with bad weather (rain, hail, humidity, snow, slippery roads) OR if you are a cardio junkie (like myself), then this is the place for you! This place has a great abundance of treadmills unlike many other gyms. I initially chose this gym last January because of its convenient location, insanely cheap price, and the hazardous weather that prevented me from doing my typical outdoor long runs in preparation for a half marathon. I was hoping to just use this gym for 2 months solely for the treadmills because I normally do all of my long runs outdoors anyways and strength training at home. I pay $10.85 (including tax) every month for the classic membership "with no commitment". Sounds too good to be true. Before you sign up for the classic membership, make sure you read the fine print and acknowledge the fact that THERE IS A 12 MONTH COMMITMENT (meaning you will have to continue paying $10.85 per month for a year + additional $39 yearly fee). I learned this the hard way by trying to cancel my membership in June. The lady at the desk told me I can cancel my membership by paying a $60 cancellation fee, but I thought to myself $60 is equivalent to about 5-6 months of gym membership where I can use treadmills for running during poor weather conditions. As a result, I am continuing to pay my $10.85/month until my 12-month commitment is up. The gym gets very busy and crowded starting early afternoon and it becomes extremely busy during typical dinner time (5-6 PM). If you come in during the peak hours (5-6 PM), your best bet is easily finding a cardio machine to workout on because there are always people hogging the weight racks and machines. The maintenance of the bathrooms and locker rooms along with the attentiveness of the front desk staff are a hit or miss. Some days, you will catch some very sweet, friendly, and helpful staff. Other days, you will catch some staff that act like they do not want to be there. I often find the toilets to be very dirty and bathroom stalls toilet paperless. TIP(S): Come here early in the morning if you want to call first dibs on most machines. Make sure you wipe down your machines BEFORE and AFTER you use them with their provided sanitizing sprays. read more
