I have been to so many different Planet Fitness locations over the years. I travel and thoroughly use my black card membership to keep my workouts up. I would say this was definitely one of the better ones. It is a very big and very spread out. There's lots of room for cardio as well as strength machines. Most of the dumbbells and other more intense things are located in a pit where there plenty of room. The only downside is this place can get busy! Even in some of the off hours it was slammed. Locker rooms seemed roomy enough and overall it was good. Ceilings are a little bit low but that's a hit or miss for most Planet Fitness locations. Definitely a place to go if you are staying in the Eastgate area and want to take advantage of your black card membership . read more

I've been coming here for a little over 2 years now and used to love it. Recently almost every time I come and especially late nights, there's kids acting like fools and the employees do nothing about it. I've felt uncomfortable several times because of this and have had these same kids being rude asf towards me. This is supposed to be a gym, not a playground. I come here to better myself and work out. All they do is sit around chatting while bullying the people who genuinely are there for the purpose of it being a gym. It wasn't like this 2 years ago when I first came, even late at night. The employees also sit and chat with these kids instead of helping it be a "no judgment zone". I have been judged here several times by these kids. Please do something about this. read more

Great fitness facility with lots of different options for working out. Low key crow. Does get busy in the afternoo.

I just called in to freeze my membership temporarily because I've just had surgery and won't be able to use it for a couple of months. They said there is no way to do it over the phone and that I have to come in. AFTER HAVING SURGERY. The fact that they also ask for a doctor's note is mind boggling. The manager stated that there's nothing that she could do to override. Instead of freezing, I'll be cancelling and finding a more accommodating gym. read more

I was a little leary about joining a gym, because I haven't been in one In a few years.(due to injuries). The gyms I used to go to in the army was very intense, but at that time I could handle it. Fast forward to now, joining a gym while out of shape is fine now, as long as you are going to the eastgate location. Everything is clean, the staff is very welcoming. The company refuses to respect my wishes, for my own privacy reasons, to not have my picture on file. Per their "policy". So I've cancelled my membership. If your "policies" don't respect the wishes and preferences of your customers, you'll eventually have none. I'm sorry that all your other customers bend the knee to your corporate will. One complaint -same complaint for years: Too many people with terrible gym etiquette, sitting on machines, texting. Hogging the equipment. And no, they are not seasoned body builders working up to their "highest and best". They are a bunch of selfish people that need to do their set and move their backside off the machine. I saw one dude again today who has a habit of talking on his phone while doing one arm/seated bicep curls. Taking his good ole' time on the one machine like that. I did 3 sets on 2 different machines, waiting on 2 different young girls to finish on the two quad flex machines. Both of them...wait for it...texting vs using the equipment. There are about 1/2 dozen purple shirts at the front desk. No one that wants to work out needs a bunch of gym police walking around making sure everyone is behaving. But..if they are going to start to "police" the back / 30 circuit then maybe it's time to remind everyone to use the machines appropriately read more

Updating this to 5 stars because this is still the most kept up with planet fitness I've been to and after moving to Ohio I get to come to this planet fitness everyday. Since they got their new equipment in it's gotten even nicer, employees are always pleasant and everything is always being cleaned. Keep doing what you guys are doing! read more

Make this owner sell this franchise please!! I have been to countless PFs around the country and this equipment is the worst i have ever used. Cardio machines are so wore out that my knees lock up using them. The place feels like a sauna. Obviously he doesn't maintain his HVAC equipment. Its all preventative maintenance issues here. I have worked out here for the last month because my PF in Milford is under construction and every piece of equipment here has some sort of issue. Unacceptable quality especially because PFs are so well maintained everywhere else! read more

Haven't been to this location in over 3 years. Pleasantly surprised by the updates. Lots of available cardio equipment, locker rooms were clean, staff were okay, and the other patrons were considerate of equipment and wiping machines do. ****update**** Noticed a lot of people no longer wipe their machines off. I've started taking a proactive approach and wipe before and after my work out. Guess some people believe that their sweat and tears will disappear without any intervention. Staff members are decent. This is definitely one of the less diverse locations I've been to. But heck, I live in this area and embrace it. I've never felt uncomfortable. People allow you to work out and don't really pay each other any attention. read more

The manager of this Planet Fitness needs to explain to the little kids behind the desk that there is more to customer service then saying Hi with a smile when someone walks in I was using the tanning beds for the first time. If I was the manager and I heard first time I feel like I needed to have a little tour. Nope what they do is point and said you go back there .... I didn't hear if I was suppose to tan in a certain room.... Of course the bed did not turn on because I was in the wrong room....Yes my fault but customer service.... Where is it ! First time using a machine that could potentially burn a FIRST TIME USER!!! These employees get 5 stars for pointing to the areas I need to go to! read more

I've been coming to this location for a year now and I've never been treated bad or felt treated less than.. they always say hi and bye almost everytime and I had one of the employees take my side when another gym goer was harassing me .. I don't have anything bad to say about this location.. they do seem to go through management quit a bit but, I'm not there to worry about that I'm there to work out and use the amenities which are pretty nice! .. only thing I wish is that they had the hybrid beds like the Milford location! .. other than that the younger staff have always been nice to me and I don't think I've ever felt judged or like anyone was being rude to me. read more

Ok so I signed up for planet fitness the other day then cancelled after my workout. The main reason I cancelled was because I hated the fact there was no true barbell rack, only the kind that you can lock in place that move along a track but there's no true free weighted barbell to use. My fault for not checking that before buying. The gym overall was nice, clean and the water bed massage table thing was cool. The reason for 1 star is planet fitness claims it's a judgement free zone in multiple places however, over by their alarm for loud noises/heavy weights hitting the ground, there's a large sign that literally stereotypes and Judges as to who would be the type of person to cause the alarm to go off. This is incredibly hypocritical. "Hey don't judge but also don't be a person who wears tank tops and drinks water out of gallon milk jugs who happens to be strong and can lift heavy weights possibly upsetting other people and because you look this way we are judging that you are one who judges" What a joke. I'll gladly drive the extra 10 minutes to crunch where this type of hypocritical stereotyping doesn't exist. read more

Alright this gym is rather basic, you get what you pay for, right? I just recently signed up as a member at this gym. The staff have been alright, friendly enough. Now the gym isn't very large, in fact it's a bit small. They make the most of the room they have. Got a lot of cardio machines and decent amount of weight machines. This gym lacks free weights, no boxing bags (a real bummer) and no pool. However if those things don't matter to you, you"ll get a good deal price wise. Lastly it's open 24 hours, I like doing midnight workouts twice a week. The gym has never been heavily crowded as I generally go around 7-9pm during the weekday. read more

It is true that all is fair at Planet Fitness. Age is respected by all there. It a super clean facility. Locker rooms are large and clean. They have a large amount of elliptical, stationary bikes and treadmills. Free weights are abundant. There is a stretching area, tanning booths, rowing machines. TV's can be seen on all elliptical, stationary bikes and treadmills. Music is heard through out the building. I have been a member for more then two years. read more

Facility is a lot nicer now that it has been expanded. Very convenient location for me. It can get crowded around peak times but that is to be expected for the low price. My big complaint is people sitting on the machines while they are on their phone or talking to someone. I like to get through my routine and get out, not stand around waiting for someone to finish their phone call or use the machine as a resting chair. There should be some signs posted about monopolizing the equipment. read more

honestly more frustrated than anything. I started this gym back not long ago and apparently there was an issue with my billing. I started getting random charges from them. What i was not informed of when i signed up is that you get a $10 service charge on top of the amount already being paid if there is an issue with billing. however, the money was still being taken out of my account as usual?? tried to correct this with them and they were extremely unhelpful claiming "we don't tell people about it because it usually doesn't happen". never returning again. read more

Best customer service. All machines are new and of course being purple makes it 10x better. The treadmills charge your iPod/iPhone which is super convenient. Lots of TVs to watch from all the cardio machines. Circuit rooms with timers to help keep you on time. The tanning beds are all really nice with facial tanners, misters and the works. $20/month includes gym & tanning and I can bring a friend every time I come, talk about motivation. Only wish they had classes. read more

Clean building but the staff is horrible. The cancellation policy is also the worst thing about this company. They claim its consumer friendly but you either have to go in person, and argue with a persons whose JOB it is to not let you cancel, or use the MAIL, yes I said that MAIL to cancel, using a certified letter, aka you have to PAY to cancel. So. Much. Purple. Having said that, it's a decent gym and I really can't beat the price and locations. I have the "Black Card" which is the more inclusive version because I live on one side of town but work on the other. I also chose PF because of it's 24/7 hours. The staff is friendly and always say "Hello" and "Bye". As for cleanliness, they border on neurotic. There is always someone cleaning and it seems like there's at least one employee walking around looking all "Ghost Busters" with the vacuum on his/her back. The equipment is in pretty good shape and I've seen them maintaining it often. There are plenty of treadmills, arc trainers and ellipticals available. My only complaint on the ellipticals is that I can't change the incline on them. There are only a few bicycles (I think 4 upright and 4 recumbent) and no rowing machines. They usually have two of each kind of weight machine, but not always. There are several that I enjoy using but often have to wait or move on because they have only one. The free weights are lacking but then again I don't think this gym is really centered towards those that focus on massive free weights. They have four Smith machines and other than that, no open barbells where weight can be added. They have a cardio circuit and an ab circuit. They also have two massage chairs which I've never used. They have multiple tanning machines, which I've never used as well. I also hear legends that they order Pizza and/or cupcakes once a week but I've never been there when this happens, so it remains legend to me. I've never had a problem with billing and you can change your billing preferences online. I've been a member at other gyms where I am inundated with sales calls trying to get me to upgrade or extend my contract or to give them referrals. Thankfully, I have never had that problem with this gym. Some of the things that this gym does not have that other gyms do: NO babysitting available. NO cardio theater. NO fitness classes. NO FANS...omg this is killing me. The only real complaint I have about this gym is that there is ABSOLUTELY NO AIR MOVEMENT WHATSOEVER. Yes, they have air conditioning and I check it every time I go in. It is set at 68 and it reads 68. But there is absolutely no air movement at all. Meaning the sweat that your body puts off to cool itself is left just sitting on your skin. I switched gyms back in September, and with the cooler weather, it wasn't so noticeable. Now (in May), it's pretty bad. REALLY bad and frankly I'm dreading seeing what it's going to be like in July & August. All they need is a couple of fans, just a little air movement would make a huge difference. It's so bad that even the gym flies (you know the chicks wearing full make-up, matching outfits and basically well, we all know why they are there) are sweating profusely. All in all, I can't find anywhere that can beat their prices, locations and customer service at this time. read more

Boooo. I hate this place. It's not very clean, usually packed with people, some of which exercise, and some of which will just sit there on a machine and watch tv, or text... Not exercising, just sitting... The friendliness of the staff is hit or miss. Honestly the only upside is the price and location(at the time I had signed up). I canceled my membership literally years ago, yet they still tried charging my account. I was not in a contract, so there were to be no termination fees. My bank ended up sending me a new card, therefore ending their ability to continue charging my account. They still send me continual emails trying to continue charging. Go work out at BRC. Cleaner, better facility, friendly staff, good variety... Basically the best gym in the area. Anyways, thumbs down, Planet fitness. read more

For $30/ year plus $10.00 / month, Planet Fitness is hard to beat. I tend to go at the busiest times, and yet never have trouble getting on the machines I want. The locker room is kept very clean, and it's obvious that most of the people are there for one reason - to get/stay fit. People also seem very conscientious about wiping the equipment down when they're done. It's one big, no frills room with a bunch of high quality exercise equipment, which, as an exercise hater, is all I need and care to pay for. read more

It has a great tanning area too all included with 20$ membership. Seems to good to be true but so far so good. It's a must see. Clean,great cardio machines and massage chairs too. Good assortment and number of cardio machines. Adequate number of weight machines. Friendly staff and good locker/shower facilities. All good in my book except, and this really bothers me. There are way too many people resting on the machines. Either just resting or using their phones to text or other otherwise tie up the machines. Love this place - I've been a member at this location since they opened. They've updated and expanded a LOT over the past couple of years, allowing more equipment and room for more people. Shower area and restrooms are nice - and clean. The equipment and floors are constantly being cleaned every morning when I'm there-probably the cleanest fitness facility I've ever been a member of. I am glad to be back into the gym, and for what I use it for, its the best deal around. basically $20 a month and I get to bring a "guest" every time, so I can bring my gym buddy. I usually leave my belongings in the car, or don't bring any at all, but I brought my purse with me, left it in a locker unattended, with no lock- low and behold, someone stole all my cash. I didn't have much in the wallet, luckily I had taken most of my tip money out earlier in the day- but I highly advise you to lock up your belongings in this establishment. Obviously there are some sticky fingered gym members who can afford a gym membership, but on other people's money. Lesson learned, won't happen again, but word to the wise- lock up your things, or leave them in the car. :) read more
