I'm super happy with this gym!!! I was pretty hesitant about joining planet fitness as I've heard a lot of negative things about them...I'm starting to realize it's usually from those who have the poorest gym etiquette. The gym is pretty big. Definitely any type of cardio equipment you could want. This location has rowing machines. They have plenty of free weights,several Smith machines, and a free weight leg press. The gym is clean with stations to wipe down the machines. I also see staff frequently cleaning. I was a member at one of the larger local gym chains and got really burnt out with the crowds, lack of cleanliness, and overall wear and tear on equipment. My favorite part about the gym is it never seems busy. I have no problem getting a weight bench or machine. Somethings to be aware of is free weights go up to 70 lbs...not a problem for me. Also no squat rack...I can deal with it. I guess they do give out free pizza and bagels, which is weird...offer free protein bars or something, but no one forces you to eat it. My membership from another gym got transferred to this gym and the employee who helped me was of no help. He asked me for my name and number to look me up in the system then cut me off while I was giving him my name and number to help other guests. I had problems switching my account because of him. He made me call ABC to ask them to authorize the changes and when they told me they don't have access to do that and that only planet fitness could do it I told the same employee and he just made an excuse. I understand that they have to go through protocol but to make me wait and help other guests while he was helping me was a bit rude. He did tell me that he would let me workout today because it was a transfer from my other gym and today would be an exception but then he changed his mind and told me to call the number, then telling me to come back when his manager is in. I felt he was being rude and impatient to me and didn't know much about the transferring of club memberships. read more

I have no idea why, but I had signed up for this gym online during the promotion. I finally had a chance to go in and see the gym and get my card. I asked about the t-shirt that was being given to the new members during the promotion. I was told that they weren't giving t-shirts out. I joined during the promotion, the same time 4 of my friends joined. They received their t-shirts. I was told I had to speak to the general manager. He wasn't in. Big surprise.... He was supposed to call me, I never received a call. Every time i mentioned the t-shirt and had given them a reason why I should still be eligible to receive one I was given a different story. I was told that I joined after the promotion was over. The promotion was over a day after I joined. One of those grinds that joined joined a day after I did. Then I was told that that the shirts were only being given out at participating locations. If so, why did my friends get theirs, even the one that joined after I did. I couldn't go in the day I joined online due to a serious medical emergency. I would.like to add that the employees that I spoke to were on the anal side. They were acting really smug as if controlling the t-shirt inventory was some god given gift from above. This just puts the proverbial bitter taste in my mouth. It indicates that they will be unscrupulous and I may have made the wrong choice in joining this particular gym. Beware if you're planning to join this gym. read more

I have belonged to many gyms during my 75 years of life, but for me, Planet Fitness is perfect. No grunting, groaning muscle builders, and the female members all dress appropriately. I'll be a member of Planet Fitness as long as I'm able. read more

I've not had any issues at this gym until recently. When my fiancé and I signed up, we weren't sure which one of us we wanted to make the primary member but we were assured by the person who signed us up that this could be switched with ease at any point. Given the assurance we were given, we decided to sign me up as the primary member and my fiancé as guest believing we would be able to switch it in the future. Months later, given changes to our schedule, we wanted to switch the primary member from myself to my fiancé instead. I called the location and was informed that we could do the switch but only the general manager could switch it for us so we'd have to make sure he was in when we request the switch. We then went to the location and was informed by an assistant manager the same thing - that it could be done but we'd have to be there when the general manager was present. We were then told when he would be in. We went there at the time they told us the general manager was there, and he was, but then we were told that the primary member and guest could NOT be switched! I called their corporate office but was given no help whatsoever. Despite the multiple misinformation and false advertising, neither the location's general manager nor its corporate office offered to work with us to fix or remedy the issue. They instead expected us to incur more fees (by either cancelling the membership or opening another account) without taking any responsibility. It's horrible customer service, especially when the misrepresentations made were detrimentally relied upon by customers just for the location to get more people to sign up. I hope they don't fool anyone else into promises just so people sign up for membership. read more

I enjoy this place but what turned me off is this guy who works there name Alfredo, I guess he is the shift leader. He was so rude and unwelcoming. No smile no welcoming attitude just a straight up rude demeanor. I've been going as a guest with my daughter's membership and never had any problems with anyone but with Alfredo. What bothered me wasn't that he asked me for my ID and had me sign a paper or I wouldn't be allowed in or that he took my picture (because I'm not new I've been coming) but what bothered me was his attitude. Not once did he smile or was nice, If you are a shift lead, act like one. Everyone is nice but him. Looks like he isn't fit for this position. Reconsider a new shift leader who smiles at least. read more

The service at this place is absolutely horrible. I don't know who these employees are that people are talking about that are so wonderful, but the ones I met are rude and dismissive, especially the so-called manager. She must ride to work on a broom with her team of flying monkeys! I keep having problems with my account because I had to make a separate bank account just for this because frankly, I don't trust Planet fitness enough to give them access to all my money. I have no idea why they can't take credit cards. GB3 takes credit cards, Fit Republic takes cards, why the hell can't they take cards. I have been charged all sorts of fees that must have been in the fine print. This place is a joke. If you already have a membership somewhere, don't come here! If you started a membership at the beginning of the year like me, well, I here CRUNCH will be open soon! read more

Do not join, there is no way out unless you pay more money. The gym is uncomfortably hot and I have experienced many rude customers claiming equipment rooms (not just one piece of equipment the entire room and not during a class) stating I couldn't use the room because they were on a cycle...so because you're cycling through the equipment I'm not allowed to do my 30-minute workout? K. Go to Fit Republic, at least there you can cancel at antime, EASILY. read more

Planet fitness is a nice gym if you are committing to a whole year, but the customer service from the manager was very disappointing. I travel for work and and am only going to be in town for three months, after which I am going to a small island that does not have any Planet Fitness gyms, so I did the month to month plan. It was before the new year, so I paid I think around $60 to sign up and $15 a month. But in January, they automatically take out a yearly fee of $39. All I asked is for him to waive the yearly fee. That is a very reasonable request given my situation. He says he can't. "Can't?" Really? You can't override it? You can't refund it? You can't even give me a coupon for your friggin Gatorade cooler? No. Nothing. Just a very insincere "I'm sorry." I'm so sick of companies using automatic computer systems as an excuse for bad customer service. You need to have the ability to override charges. Also I asked him if I could have my services cancel on the 23rd of February which is exactly three months from my joining. He says no, I have to cancel on the 17th because that's when my payment comes out and they can't prorate. They were able to prorate when in means adding days to the 30 day billing cycle, but they can't prorate down and take days away from the 30 day billing cycle. Again, how convenient for you, Planet Fitness. I will not be going to your gym again after my time is up here. read more

I went with my daughter to sign her up, while we were signing her up the person at the counter stated they wanted to make a copy of my ID card, I declined to do so, I have a large concern about my ID and identity theft. There were 2 women at the counter, they had no idea how to handle the situation. One of the women called me an AssHole. This is not the type of customer service one would expect. I pulled my daughter out of there and will never return to any Planet Fitness Facility. read more

Maybe someone can explain this to me. So I decided to join Planet Fitness (Clovis, CA) after Christmas 2019. A friend was already a member and was always talking it up. I joined on December 31, 2019. There was supposed to be a special going on, but our AMEX was charged 12/31/19 for $44. 59. Then on January 17, 2020, our bank account was charged $10.00 for the monthly fee. No problem. But then on February 17, 2020, our bank was charged the $39.00 yearly membership fee. I call up the location, and the manager tells me that there is nothing he can do because that is the once yearly fee. I said, I just paid the fee on the 31st, why wasn't it prorated? He was not very helpful, did not explain why I have been charged almost a $100 for this gym and it's only been 5 weeks!!! I said, fine cancel my membership. He said "you have to come in to cancel it and you will be charged $58 for early cancellation"!! WTF. This is why so many people have problems with gyms having their cc or banking info. I thought they were different, but appears they are not. Cheat cheat cheat the consumer and then don't be helpful when they are in the wrong! Oh and don't bother trying to corporate number, it is an automated voice telling you to take care of your problems at the location and then hangs up on you. I don't feel I should of been charged the $39.00, and I want a refund. read more
