    Seemingly fabricated usage data.

First of all, DO NOT purchase the black card! They will most assuredly avoid telling you this, but the black card is a year commitment, and if you decide to cancel, brace yourself for a $58 cancellation fee. So for the tidy sum of $78, I ended up receiving 3 workouts at this awful, overcrowded place. Now you can see how they make their money! You know the saying, if something is too good to be true, it probably is? It could have been written specifically for Planet Fitness. I knew upon signing up that the low price would attract a large membership, but the staff member to whom I spoke assured me that crowds wouldn't be an issue during off-peak hours. He even presented a paper that supposedly broke down the average usage of each hour of each day. According to the document I was handed, there'd be less than 20 people in the whole place in the 10:30 pm time period in which I was expecting to regularly work out. This was only the first of many lies I'd encounter during my brief week's stay as a member of Planet Fitness. Much to my shock, the cramped weight lifting area was crammed with people even at this late hour. Benches were occupied by "lunkheads" who had openly flaunted rules by bringing jugs of water. Between sets, these guys shadow boxed with no regard for others in the vicinity. I observed a number of individuals using multiple pieces of equipment at once; one particularly roided meathead was alternating between 5 different machines, grunting and loudly dropping equipment the whole time. I waited over an hour on three separate occasions to use a bench, but was thwarted each time when those camped upon them refused to move on to other equipment. "I'll just use a bench and Dumbbells," I thought. Not quite that easy, as a guy moved the decline bench within 6 inches of my bench (I was up against the wall) so he could do sit-ups. Another person actually stepped over me in order to access the dumbbell rack. Simply put, there is a reason this place is so cheap. If you're looking to get a cardio workout in and already have a bench and some free weights at home, then yeah the $10 membership might be a decent deal. But if you're planning to base your weight training here (even at midnight) you're in for a rude awakening. You get what you pay for, but Planet Fitness didn't even live up to the $10.

Everything is great about this planet fitness. The only thing that I would love is if they had a pool, especially during the summers.

Just came here around 9 o'clock at night to work out. The rooftop unit caught fire and they had to evacuate the building. This place sucks.

This is by far the cleanest and well run gym I've ever been to. Staff are extremely helpful, knowledgable and pleasant too!

So when FDC gave me a gift for 4 sessions with Perfect Workout, I went with a fair amount of skepticism. Why? Because the program is 1:1 training, with a goal of muscle 'failure' within 2 minutes on any exercise, total of 20 minutes workout 1-2 times a week. How could that possibly make a difference? Still, I went, way back in February, and I've been going ever since. Here's what I love: It is absolutely 20 minutes, no kidding. It's a seriously difficult workout for those 20 minutes. Training is 1:1. There are only two trainers and two people being trained at any time. The trainers are experts. Just because I am not a 'gym rat' does not mean I have never trained or 'worked out'. The difference is that the trainer is paying very close attention to my form, making tiny adjustments that mean I'm using muscles in ways I have never had to before. I learned that I had bad habits, the biggest of which was engaging my shoulders in place of other muscles such as my pectorals or biceps. The 20 minutes, no lie, they are HARD minutes. Everything hurts. By the end my legs feel like jello and my arms like lead. The results are worth it: I'm stronger, though I'll never be a bodybuilder, and I'm stronger in places I have never been before in my entire 56 year life. It's pretty cool. Perfect Workout is not cheap. You can train less expensively many other places. Those trainers may or may not be as good, and you don't really know better until you've trained better. The other thing I love is that my training with Kristi is highly personalized and a dialogue. Sometimes she will think my muscle is at fail, and I know it's not, so I push it. Other times I slip into an old habit and she corrects it right away. It's quite productive. It's been 10 months since I started, and I am still committed and look forward to my workout. For me, it's 100% worth the expense as I'm getting far more out of each session than I ever have before.

I learned more in my first 30 minute workout than I've learned in quite a while about healthy living and the proper way to exercise. I definitely recommend The Perfect Workout to everyone who is looking for results, and to improve their overall health.

I give John's Fitness Train 5 stars. Here is my story: Two years ago I was at my lowest point in…read moremy life. I am a single mom of two young boys and I was trying to adjust to my new life where I was gaining weight and smoking. I was so disgusted with myself because I lacked energy, confidence and strength mentally, physically and spiritually. I was 5'1 and weighing 150 lbs and moving into a size 10. I learned about John's Fitness Train through a friend. At first, I was nervous I wouldn't be able to afford it or keep up with my career and being a mom. John worked with my schedule and immediately I started to see results. I started to gain control of my life. John is an excellent motivator and role model. All the categories in my life where I felt weak and disgusted, he is the exact opposite. I swear my training sessions turned into therapy. In fact, I was seeing a therapist twice a week and I stopped those sessions because I was gaining more mental strength during my training sessions than I did in two years of therapy. Less than a year after my first session I went from a size 10 to a 0. Yes, ladies you may find that hard to believe after having two children and c-sections but when you put your mind to anything you will see results. Thank you, John for teaching me that secret to life. Currently, I am still a size 0, one solid year without a cancer stick, ran my first 5K, working on a 10 mile run and lifting weights three days a week. I realize this may sound scary and unbelievable but I promise you, I am real. Everyday I get stronger and when I start to slip, John reminds me why I am here. I am here because if I can accomplish this challenge then I can tackle any challenges. Now I am a positive role model for my two sons and students. John is more than a trainer. He is a counselor, motivator and friend!! By the way, I was that girl in the red shirt but now I am the woman in the grey tank top.

I was still new-ish to Crossfit then, and a little nervous about going somewhere new (this was my first experience outside my home Crossfit box). Rob was so helpful and provided great feedback. It is a very welcoming environment, fostered by both the trainers and the members. I travel for work a lot and sometimes don't get as much Crossfit in as I'd like. The trainers at Delaware Valley never hestitate to give extra attention if I need help with my form or tweaking a technique. Also, I notice the class sizes are a little smaller than my home box which I really like. I feel like I get more instruction. All in all, this is a great place to be a member or just to drop in. I've been back about 6 times since that first visit and I will certainly be back again.
