Avoid This Place at All Costs - Incompetent, Dishonest, and Rude If I could give zero stars, I would. I notified Planet Fitness that I'd be out of town for four months and requested a freeze on my account. The following month? They charged me. I called, and they assured me it wouldn't happen again. Next month? Charged again. When I called to address the issue, they insisted that I had "checked in" and unfroze my account--despite the fact that I was in another state and physically could not have checked in. Instead of acknowledging their mistake, they argued with me, repeatedly interrupted me, and treated me like I was lying. Only after forcing my way into the conversation did they finally ask, "Well, what would you like to do about this?" I told them I wanted to cancel my membership. Their response? I had to go online to cancel. No help, no apology, just complete indifference. When I asked what would happen to the money they had just wrongfully charged me, the employee had no answer--because they simply didn't care. This location is a disaster. The staff is incompetent, unprofessional, and lacks even basic customer service skills. They don't understand their own policies, can't manage simple account freezes, and would rather argue than admit a mistake. I have been a member of Planet Fitness in Florence for five years. The employees have always been young and void of a strong work ethic. However, I can live with that as long as it doesn't directly impact me. Now that it is impacting me, it is time to speak up. Approximately seven months ago, my credit card was hacked and I had to get a new card. Approximately three months ago, an employee at the front desk finally realized there was an issue with my credit card payment (however, monthly charges were still going through) and stopped me as I was signing in. I gave them the new credit card number and thought nothing more of the situation until I noticed an additional $15 charge had been added to my monthly payment for the past two months. I talked with Lucas, Florence's Manager, about this to no avail. The new credit card number was listed on their computer as a secondary credit card, and the canceled card was listed as primary. Every month, they submitted payment to the canceled card even though they were told the first card no longer worked; thus payment was declined and I was charged a late payment. They realized this was happening because they waived the late payment for the first five months (never saying a word to me, or deleting the primary card once payment finally went through on the secondary card). Lucas could not adequately explain the breakdown in communication other than to say the problem was that I used my key ring tag to sign in instead of the cell phone app. I told him I was using the tag they provided, and all he had to say was they preferred the app. Never was I told this. When asked why someone at the front desk didn't stop me when I signed in to inform me of the issue, he had no response. I am left to conclude they are too busy socializing and joking around to pay attention to customers. I greatly appreciate their desire to work; however, they are too young and lack experience to understand a management position with the ability to hear the customer without defensiveness. I was just asked to leave your Florence location which I complied with for having a backpack style Nike Elite bag on the floor. Also I understand you have a new manager here. There are several violations of your rules on the gym floor and I have been the only one asked to leave for my knowledge. I clean the equipment. I workout quietly without bothering others. I make sure that my bag is out of the way and either behind equipment or tucked into a corner. I have been a member since 2017. I really use it mainly for tanning cause their beds are great. I used to use the mobile kiosk app which was a game changer. Loved putting the time and the bed I wanted. But they took that away so now it's a pain when having to drive there and there is nothing available at that time so it's kinda a waste to even go. read more

After 10 plus years of taking my autistic son to this location , the judgement free zone caused my son to melt down. For many years we have used the lure of using the tanning bed as reward for working out. Today, after years of it being ok, we were told I could not sit in the tanning room with my son. The new manager had no concern for the effec he was having on my special needs son. My problem is with this new policy they created with parking. I'm a truck driver that goes to Florence 5 days a week. I don't own a car and I use my tractor as a personal conveyance. Keep in mind. Only tractor. No trailer. They posted signs saying. No semi parking. It will be towed. I get that they don't want full size truck and trailers there. But cmon. I can park in a spot easily. With minor difficulty. In fact. Some of the pick up trucks that park there are as long as my tractor. It's not like I'm there sleeping. Or taking up 40 parking places with the whole unit. I do my thing and I'm out the door. I tried calling managers there. But was blown off. It always like I was inconveniencing those kids behind the desk So much for trucks keep America moving. read more

I joined this gym just to do cardio - they kept overcharging my account. I went in and was guaranteed a refund due to a fee being charged twice. Told I would get back - never did. instead they put towards another membership. Horribly disorganized and they do the opposite of what they say. They don't take credit cards or cash either - you have no recourse. read more

I have been to a few PFs but hands down this is the nicest one I've been to. There is plenty of staff. They were constantly cleaning. I've never seen a cleaner PF. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. There was quite a bit of equipment in there I have never seen so I wanted to try so I would ask how some it worked and they had no problem explaining. The locker room was large and the showers were individual showers which were quite spacious. There is two levels. There was a lot of floor space between all this equipment. I'm kind of disappointed that I will only be able to visit this one a couple times of year because I'm an out of towner. read more

This Planet Fitness is one of the best gyms I've been to. It has two levels and has rooms for different kinds of work outs. I like how it has many different kinds of machines and there is always a machine available when I go. You can definitely work out any part of your body. The showers has privacy. Pretty nice gym. My girlfriend and I recently signed up for a membership. I had been here previously, but had canceled my membership before due to not using it much. I love the fact that this is a 24 hour gym, because we both have busy schedules and sometimes won't get to work out until late at night. They have tons of machines, free weights, TRX bands, etc. If you become a black card member, you also have access to massage chairs, Hydromassage, and tanning beds. The Hydromassage is nice and it is very relaxing to do after a tough workout. We've yet to try the tanning beds. The staff seems to be fairly friendly. Since we've mostly been late at night we haven't had too many encounters with the staff, as we typically just scan our keycards and walk in. The gym is also very clean and has nice locker rooms. I would suggest to anyone looking for a gym if it has what you need. read more

This is my favorite gym! I've tried different gyms around the area and this is my favorite one because the staff are so friendly and welcoming, are ALWAYS cleaning (even before Covid times), and the equipment is honestly really nice. The gym itself is super spacious and it's two levels so there's lots of room to do a lot of different things. The locker rooms are super clean and the women's locker room is big and has nice mirrors that light up. Also, the tanning beds are 5 stars and are better than palm beach for a cheaper price. Overall, it's a very friendly environment whether you're a beginner, intermediate, or advanced. Would've gave 5 stars if there were actual barbells and more free weights. The temperature in this gym is way too cold! I'm a very warm natured person and I had to cut my workout short today because it was freezing in here. They always keep the temp cold in here for some unknown reason. Most people like to sweat when they workout, which is almost impossible at this location. But today was way too cold. Never thought I'd step foot in a PF. Lifetime fitness is worth every cent more than any other gym out there but without having one locally this is what I've got to work with for now. Better than I thought it would be but the staff is really unfriendly. I say hi, some of them don't even bother looking at you. Now it doesn't really get to me to much because I'm not here to develop their social skills. I just ask myself how many members you have probably lost with your front desk staff alone. You get what you pay for I guess. Also if you could try and put a kibosh to all the high schoolers taking selfies in the locker room... oh and don't forget all the male nipples with the rags they wear for shirts.. no one wants to see your tits guys, chill with that. I went in March 25th to cancel my membership and was told the membership was canceled and she had me sign the touch pad. I was then charged the yearly fee on April 1st and another monthly fee on April 17th. I called Florence Planet Fitness on the evening of the 17th to ask if I should have been charged the yearly fee and explain that I had already canceled my membership. The guy who answered the phone was very rude and told me I could be lying and they have cameras they could check. I really hope they do have cameras they can check because that would certainly proove I was at the counter and signed the electronic pad. I drove down to the gym tonight and asked the girl to check that my membership was canceled and to my surprise my membership still showed as being active. Once again I hope they do have cameras they can review. Obviously the girl didn't know what she was doing or she canceled the wrong person's membership. Bottom line the mistake of a Planet Fitness worker cost me over $60. My warning to everyone is if your cancel you membership don't leave until your certain it was done correctly. read more

If you're looking for an inexpensive and easy gym look no further. Planet Fitness is the fast food of gyms but it still gets the job done. They have a wide variety and availability of equipment and tootsie rolls for coming and going. The Arc Trainer machines are great and make me feel like I'm getting a great workout in. There is plenty of weight equipment available without the intimidation of CrossFit type gyms. The front desk staff has always been friendly and helpful and the locker rooms and showers are always clean. The only thing that could give me five stars is if there were more stair climbers and the "Lunk Alarm" was a little bit quieter. read more

I have worked out at multiple places in NKY. Planet fitness fits me perfectly at my stage of my fitness journey. The price is right and the facility is terrific. New equipment, nice locker room and always someone at the front desk to help you out. Tanning beds and massage chairs are just a perk. I like the express workout room and I know how to use weights and everything is here for you. If you are ready for great workout equipment but not a lot of hand holding this place is for you. Front desk staff are all teenagers- more interested in their phones than any type of customer service. ***They were extremely rude. Ask them a question? Ha! I approached the counter, was treated like a criminal. One gal walked towards us, stopped at the register, didn't ask if she could help us, nothing. When I did ask a question, she said "Whaat?" With the typical teenage scrunched up face???!!! As a new member you expect to be greeted and welcomed, possibly given a tour? Isn't that a ruleee? Zero information. Described as a "self serving gym" WOW. Why are you paying so many staff to stand around and heckle people. This is Verizon made over. Tanning? I wasn't asked how long or given eye protection. After trying several gyms in the area, I have been quite impressed with this Planet Fitness. The fees are very reasonable ($20/month includes gym, tanning, hydro beds, and guest passes. $10/month includes gym). The gym is always clean and the staff is nice. The locker rooms contain large lockers but do require your own lock. The gym has two levels, bottom level has cardio machines such as treadmills, weight machines and free weights. The upper level has more cardio machines and various ab machines, stretching areas, monkey bars, etc. The best thing about this gym is it's not extremely busy, and you can get on the machines you need in a reasonable amount of time. read more

The staff is rude. For being a "no judgement" gym, they sure do judge a lot. You can't wear certain clothing, or drink water out of a jug. I cancelled my membership because one of the girls who works there was really rude to me when I went to go tan. One of the best planet fitness gyms I've ever visited. Beautiful layout and a view to go with your cardio workouts. Clean locker room with good layout and best shower I've ever seen in a PF. Member beware! PF charges you a $59 dollar "enrollment fee" if you downgrade membership from $20 to $10 a month. Being a former manager of fitness clubs for many years, I will tell you all that this is just a way to keep you from downgrading. There is no cost to upgrade but there is to downgrade? Ive been a member here for over 2 yrs and my fiance and I both will be canceling due to this poor customer service experience and unethical way to get money. They would rather lose $30 a month ($10 me, $20 fiance) than to waive this crazy "enrollment fee". Crunch Fitness or Anytime here we come! read more
