I had a funny experience with her today that showed how rude she is. She was blocking the door (btw, while she came to work wearing pyjamas lol) so no one could go into the gym. When I opened the door, she literally had a temper tantrum and was screaming in my face, bragging she was the manager saying she'd report me and called me a dumbass and whatever for a solid minute. I just ignored her. Oh and the water has been broken for two weeks and apparently won't be repaired for two months. So the manager is too lazy/cheap to even bother getting the water repaired for two months lol. Replace her asap. read more

A mixed bag of Apples concerning what one can expect any given day from some of the staff and guests. This location is not reflective of the neighborhood in which it is situated, for it is a boro hub that attracts an extreme cross section of the Big Apple, thereby having a population of people with poor gym etiquette and individuals who know nothing about using the various devices, sitting for prolonged periods while on their phones, misusing open spaces, etc. Addressing such issues is seemingly, in the long run, a waste of time. Still, this gym has great potential if the owner were to implement ongoing reminders and enforcement of rules. Marked pathways that prevent self-serving guests from blocking them with benches and weights would be helpful. One must go to this gym, knowing full well that it can be like riding an NYC subway where you never know what you'll run into any given day with respect to courtesy and consideration by guests and certain staff members. The upside is it is generally well kept, is conveniently located near a major post office, many stores, the subway and the LIRR Forest Hills Station. In my view, some of the the staff are poorly trained or resonate frustration and/or unhappiness with their roles. read more

This place has constantly broken machines. There are always a ton of kids here just standing around machines and hogging them. No one is using the circuit area correctly and there's no one there to police them. The TV is always playing surfing clips with no sound. What is the point of that. The cleaning supplies are always dirty and the paper towels don't absorb the sprays so basically no cleaning is really done. Overall, a good price and if you are trying to use cardio machines, a good place to go. If you are trying to do weight training, it is extremely difficult. Also now that they cut their hours back, the times that used to be quiet, are gone making this even worse. read more

I live in NYC and spend a lot of time in Florida. The Forest Hills club is my "home Club" and I only go a couple of days a month as I also belong to another gym. I went today at 3:30. The place must have changed to a summer camp as there were mostly young teens some working out and others just taking space. The place must have been near capacity. You had to wait to for every machine as they were all taken. If you are running a summer program for kids at least have staff members monitor it rather than have 5 kids at a machine monopolizing it or just standing around it. The other issues is it was incredibly hot. Perhaps because of the number of people there the fans did not generate much relief. The club has really gone downhill. read more

Horrible place. The young thin, brown guy who works there is the reason I will not go back. Every single time I entered that place he shot dirty looks my way. And when he was working at the front desk, he would say hello and goodbye to everyone except me. His negativity and rudeness made me dread going in every day, so I quit. In fact, I was thinking of reinstating my membership, but when I got to this Rego Park location, I saw him at the front desk and couldn't bring myself to go in. His disgusting attitude towards me was unprovoked and therefore unprofessional. The gym should be a place of positivity and health, not negativity and dread. But this single staff member has made it unbearable to even enter, let alone focus on my health. And therefore has made it impossible for me to return. I don't know what his problem was, but I didn't want to deal with this guy's bad attitude every single time I ran into him, which was everywhere I went while I was at that Queens Blvd location. So I tried working out when he wasn't there, but that proved too inconvenient. It is unfortunate that this one person is allowed to determine the culture of the gym and make us, the public, go to other gyms, even if it means paying a higher member fee just to avoid the kind of energy that guy is projecting onto paying members. In fact, I wonder how many OTHER people he has made to feel this way... how many other potential members he is keeping from Planet Fitness... it's absolutely horrible there. read more

Honestly, I never thought I would be a member of Planet Fitness. There was always another gym that I went to and I did t think it offered all that much because it was only $10 a month or $29 for black card membership. Well, clearly I was wrong. Forest Hills desperately needed a new gym that isn't falling apart and has broken equipment. When my husband and I noticed that Planet Fitness was opening up in Forest Hills, we were super excited about there being a new gym. We signed up and started going the first day it opened on Monday. We have been going every day since. Not only do they have brand new equipment (that some of which can count your reps) and friendly staff, they are also open 24 hours. They have all of the equipment you would need to work out, lockers, showers, great music playing and the best of all a black card spa. What is a black card spa? Well you can sign up and get a 10 minute hydro massage as well as a chair massage or to can go tanning or use the beauty enhancer machine (still not sure what it is). Only thing that disappoints me is that their classes are only M-F and until 8 on one day. Friday, when I end at noon during the summer, I can't even take a calls bc the last class stars then. The class schedule is not conducive for the working person. Otherwise, I am a big fan so far. Loving my workout and massage after! read more

This gym gets the job done if you don't have any other options. Depending on the time it can be very crowded and your 1 hour work out can turn into 2 waiting for teenagers to get off machines. I do notice that women in this gym get harassed to get off machines more frequently than the men who seem to use them for longer. Sometimes this gym can also be very smelly which is expected ofc it's a gym but it can be a lot on some days. All I'll say is you get what you pay for which is $10 a month. The gym has gone way downhill since they opened three years ago. Staff was friendly, it never seemed too crowded and the AC was great. Now we have an unfriendly staff, a packed gym and, I swear, the AC is either not working or it's turned way down. Was at the Forest Hills location today. A staff person came around asking anyone that a shirt, jacket, etc on the a piece of equipment to remove it and basically stood there until you did. Ok, sure. They of course did nothing about equipment laying around on the floor, or random tissues on the ground. Overall the gym is fine for $15 a month, but this location has some of the unpleasant gym staff I've been around. After I signed up online and came in. The person at the front desk could hardly be bothered to help me complete my registration process, not did they even offer a tour. read more

My friend had mentioned that there customer service issue from The staff at the front desk that she had experienced. I have not had any issues. However, these are the issues I do find that are pretty remediable. So, I wonder why it is an issue. They permit teens to be onsite w/o any supervision. N, I was a teen over 15yrs Ago. However, we know how annoying teens can be when we hang out w/our friends. They're harmless and are just acting up. But, that's not the space for it. The problem is they go into the Black Card section and rough house, scream, curse, etc while you're trying to use the massage chair to relax LOL-DUH. Additionally, there are cameras in this section. So, staff can clearly see what's going on. So, my blame has to revert back to the staff and the manager. The teens are probably not even black card members because they don't use any of the equipment. So, again that's on the staff. And, IDC if they just sit there and talk crap. It's the screaming, rough housing, etc that is annoying & disruptive. I did get the manager's name, Carlos Lopez and will follow-up. With that being said, it's relatively easy to avoid a lot of this if you go during the day and avoid the after 5pm chaos. Since, the gym itself is packed, as well. I pop in after 5 to use the Black Card amenities only. Since, Ino the gym is packed. It's a cheap gym that has a lot of great things. But, staff is seriously lacking. Lastly, the hygiene of the bathrooms are gnarly. Again, almost a different gym experience if you go during day w/hygiene, as well. This location is brand new and Tht helps tons too. So, customer service responded to reach out to mgmt. Ahem, I'm sure they know the issues and choose not to do anything because they don't know what to do. I'll just avoid the times I feel are likely to be problematic! I have been going much less. read more

This is a great gym for you if you're a self-involved person who just can't go on a treadmill or bike without immdiately having cell phone conversations with all your friends in violation of club rules (which are never enforced). However, if like me, you'd prefer to exercise in peace and not overhear said phone calls, then this is not the place for you. All the weight machines are broken. Weight pins are disappearing on a weekly basis cant do a leg or back workout on any purple machines.

This location is special. First of all, it's renovated with newer machines that have timers and count how many you did per set. Also it has a water filter system. There's a lounge area with really comfortable chairs and inside of there are rooms for the hydromassage and massage chairs. All the staff are respectful, kind and helpful. The locker rooms and restrooms are kept clean and smell nice. The temperature is always kept cool but not cold. I love this location. read more

I don't agree with some of the bad reviews as I have a planet fitness membership for years and to be honest I don't go to the gym much but did go to this Queens location and I found staff , variety of equipment available, cleanliness, and overall experience much to my pleasure . Did a little treadmill, bike, lite weights and other exercise equipment with total enjoyment and when I needed a rest the massage chairs were a welcome bonus . Overall well kept and organized gym with a relaxed atmosphere and bathrooms were cleaned as well. 4.5 stars on my yelp meter for planet fitness in Queens and well worth the low monthly fees . read more

I've been a member for years and have been to several locations while traveling. This one is the worst managed. Shower heads in the men's area have been missing from 2 of the 4 stalls, for almost a month, soap dispensers are often never filled. In a recent incident a female 'manager' found it necessary to enter the men's changing room. Corporate PF needs to train their mangers to handle incidents professionally. read more

Vey nice & clean gym in forest hills - I went on my friends guest pass - she is a black card holder - I took advantage of the 10 min massage and that is definitely worth it! Staff was friendly and the place was super clean and kept well! It was a little crowded considering the time I went but nonetheless I was super impressed and will definitely be back! read more

This is a great example of getting what you pay for. This gym is atrocious. Equipment is either broken on hogged by teens who should not be in the gym in the first place unsupervised. The gym is consistently packed from 7:00 PM to closing. The patrons are ill mannered and rude. Avoid at all costs. Oh and if shirtless timed flex photos are you your thing, be sure to stop by the mens locker room. You'll constantly find poorly mannered teens posing in the mirrors. read more

We signed in at Planet Fitness in Forest Hills, NY this morning. I was flagged because they needed a back-up credit card which I don't have. I only have one credit card and this manager (who already had an attitude) didn't like our answer. My daughter was with me, looked at me and said she didn't want to f-ing stay. The manager flipped and when I told her my daughter said this to me, the manager went on her own F rant several times screaming and cursing at my daughter and me to leave the store and never come back. I give this facility 2 1/2 STARS for the following reasons: I began working out at this new facility in September 2022. It was OK for the first couple of weeks because it wasn't crowded yet being a brand new facility. Here is a summary of the Good, the Bad and the Ugly of this new gym: The Good: Cheap, 24 hrs. during weekdays ( I heard the hours were going to be cut to until 11pm only ). Relatively clean. With your membership, you're guaranteed admission to the facility and probably are able to use the cardio machines of which there are plenty. For anything else, good luck. The 30-minute workout area and the other separate room to work your legs and abs are OK. The four dumbbells' racks are well stocked; however, only the first two racks with the lightest weights are the ones heavily used. Often, I had to wait to get of the 4 available incline benches and then walk around to find the weights that I need. Many users drag these benches to the squat machines or somewhere else in the gym and don't bring them back. The Bad: This gym in actually located in the basement of the building even though you enter it on the first floor. The Front Desk staff is located on the entry level and rarely seen in the basement where the gym is actually located. They only come down to cleanup the bathrooms and replenish paper towel and disinfectant: often, we run out of paper or disinfectant having to walk all the way across the gym to find one. All the equipment is LOW END: Some better than other. Equipment breaks and it lingers to get fixed. The are three Smith/Rack Squat machines, rather than a mixture, that are always heavily used. Only One Pec Fly Machine which is heavily used. We need another one. The music sucks and is to loud adding to the noise of a crowded facility. The Ugly: A couple of months ago, the water supply at the sinks in the locker area broke: For about a month, only SCALDING water came out of the faucets which could have caused an injury to someone. Yet, it took a month to get it "Fixed". Someone's brilliant idea of fixing the Scalding water, was to replace it with "Freezing Cold" water rather than the proper mixture of hot and cold water. It's been like that since. Another annoying thing happening the last couple of times I've been to the gym ( I arrived after work around 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm ) it that all the lockers are occupied. This forces me to either waste time waiting for a locker to be free or to bring my winter coats and bags into the working out are itselt. It gets crowded. Some people and groups of people monopolize the equipment by either allowing "buddies" to work out with them or lingering on the machines checking out social media even though they are people waiting to use the equipment. People grab dumbbells', barbells, plates, etc., etc. and carry them out to different areas to do their workout without returning them to their original location. This forces people to walk all the way around the gym to find the equipment they need. Some people think that the dumbbell racks are they personal living room: The place phone, water, jackets on them and start working out right in front of them rather than taken a few steps back to allow other users to move freely without the potential for an accident in the making. At the bare minimum, this facility needs a full time person to be downstairs enforcing rules, providing supplies and addressing clients concerns, issues. I think this gym would greatly improve by having a dedicated staff person downstairs to address customers needs, refill supplies and reposition abandoned equipment, and to tell users proper gym and facility etiquette. It would also improve a lot by adding additional lockers and developing/managing an strategy to allow for efficient and equal use of the heavily used equipment. I actually wouldn't mind paying more for a facility that is better managed so relieve crowdedness and selfish users. read more

Pros: clean, location Cons: cheap (yes this is a con, cheap gyms are never good and attract the worst kind of people), dangerous (multiple robberies have been reported here inside the locker room), small, located in basement so cell service and wifi is bad/unusable, packs of teenagers that don't know common courtesy, not enough good machines and weights for serious gym goers, staff and manager are super unhelpful and non responsive (they are severely underpaid so it's understandable) Verdict: I personally wouldn't come here if it were free, but if you can't afford a better gym or just aren't serious about exercise, planet fitness is definitely for you. For everyone else I would recommend NYSC around the corner. read more

I dont like the Planet Fitness brand since they kicked out the patron who complained about males using the female locker/bathroom. I'm glad they lost millions in revenue after that. Specifically the branch in FH is kind of dirty. The sinks in the bathroom rarely work. Only one of the hand dryers ever work, if it does. There are homeless people living in the gym, which sounds ridiculous, but it's true. Although they dont bother you, It's still kind of annoying. The floor mats are the cheap kind, and not organized placement. Theres poor circulation in the bathroom, lockerroom, so if a dude goes to the john, it will smell bad for quite a while, trapped smell down in there. Only reason & i mean only reason i joined was convenient location. That it has, but if you have a closer gym, youre better off. read more

I joined this week and will immediately be canceling my membership. The two times I visited, I was surprised by the sheer volume of minors (at least half, if not more, of the patrons). They all hang out in groups and monopolize the machines. The gym is also overcrowded and many of the machines are broken. I had to check 5 different treadmills before finding one that worked (while a small group of teens were ranting about something by one of the treadmills - not using it, just hovering to claim it). I'm surprised PF allows minors to use their facilities given the potential liabilities. There was also only one staff at the front desk with no one walking the floors. The music is also SO LOUD that I can't hear my own music with my earbuds. Crazy. I loved the PF in Brooklyn Heights, which I used for years. It's clean, friendly multiple staff, no minors, not very crowded even during peak times. No clue what's going on with the Forest Hills location, but it's not my problem anymore. read more

This Planet Fitness gym needs quite a bit of upkeep. The 30 minute express room is horrible. Machines are missing bolt to put weight on, timers & reps don't work on some machines, there was someone crashing the weight constantly, & the garbage can was very full. Also there was a sign, on the floor, that said Machine out of order. Hmmm wonder what Machine that is! Maybe the one that the guy kept crashing! So I moved on out of there, figuring I'll just find good/working machines in the othee area. We'll once again timer/reps not working but at least I can see the count down clock. Once again, machines are missing the weight marker bolt. On the climb machine a lot of the bottle holders were dirty with used paper towels. On my way out, I spoke to a worker at the front desk. She listened, said manager just stepped out. Also said that people take those weight bolts! Sigh! That's it for now. Hopefully this place will clean up their act. read more

Brand new gym just opened. Staff are not very attentive, low energy and not super diligent. Needs more control over 30 minute workout area, too many people treat it like a VIP section with no respect for others who are trying to get on the circuit. Water machine needs fixing asap, incredibly low pressure, practically drips out, fountain function is even worse. Won't be able to drink any water out it's spout. Make sure you bring a big bottle full of water it you'll be out of luck or forced to buy from the PF fridge. There's no service if you have T-Mobile and Public WiFi could be hit or miss sometimes. Even if you're connected, it may not be connected to the internet. Staff are not familiar with the black card spa machines such as the hybrid light tanning and total body enhancement machines, leaving customer to figure things out for themselves. Also don't bother standing in line to be serviced at the front desk. Someone can walk up behind and start engaging with the staff and the staff would commit to them. Even if they seen you standing there for a while they won't engage you and ask what you need. read more
