Very good atmosphere and amazing gym staff. Good place to start your kid. This is the first gym I started at.

There have been some instances at this gym but today, I genuinely didn't like the staffs nasty attitude. I had walked in & had signed in prior. The skinny girl with the red or dyed hair signed me in. I had to use the restroom. When I finished, I went to go grab my things from my car. I walked in to head to the bathroom when they started yelling at me "MA'AM!" as if I were some kind of thief or broke some stupid rule. I literally walked in, with my work uniform & it was barely even 10 minutes from my sign in. The same woman yelling for me really didn't recognize me from barely 2 minutes she walked into the bathroom to look for someone called "chris." She came in & I sharply said "I already signed in." At this point, I am irritated. How do you not pay attention to your surroundings? The girl with the short hair & tattoos walks out just to return because the "manager didn't see me sign in." They really made me sign in twice & shook my head at their lack of responsibility & surroundings. But this isn't the first time I've had an issue. There was a previous instant for why I avoided coming here for awhile. They have a janitor who leaves all the cleaning materials laid out in the women's bathroom, making it difficult to use it. He takes forever to get the job done. Another lady walked in while I waited for him to clean the bathroom area (but wouldn't). That lady explained in exasperation: "He does this ALL the time. He just leaves everything sprawled out, one has to use the bathroom ontop of all of that because one can't wait on him. He'll be on the phone or outside on the other side of the gym, talking or gossiping with someone. And he gets MAD at women but we're waiting & sometimes, we just can't [wait on him]." I agree. I have a schedule I need to go by, things to do & I had to quickly shower because my shift at work started pretty soon that day. He had complained, very loudly "that these women keep coming in [to the locker room]. Can't they see the sign and everything out?! DAMN!" But I exercised for an hour & a half, in between I went in & saw he was crouched down, talking on his phone. I waited 20 to 30 minutes so I went back out to exercise for 30 more minutes. He still hadn't cleaned the bathroom. I had to go ahead & shower since he showed no urgency. Look. I come here because it's close to my job & I don't pay for the Black Card Membership for nothing. LA Fitness has a schedule so Planet Fitness provides 24 hours from Monday through Thursday (Fridays, they close at 9pm). I pay for my membership every month without fail. I was on & off for some time until things became more steady since 2023. Today was the second time I run into some stupid issue but it's really the lack on the staff. Hopefully, things improve. The location isn't terrible. There is plenty of parking. It's a good spot. There is that. The 1 star is really for today's instant & the previous one. read more

Really clean gym. The Manager is on top of the cleanliness. The lady that cleans in the mornings does a phenomenal job job. The issue that I have is that sometimes the music is extremely loud and at times they put a horrible selection of some form of acid metal rock that seems to annoy not only me but other members as well. I find it very difficult to enjoy my workout because of this. I thought you were about making your members feel comfortable and at ease from annoying distractions. As a former business owner I can definitely tell you that this is no way to run a business. It doesn't help having an employee that works as a greeter tell me he's in a band that plays that kind of music. Coincidence? I can't imagine this being any good for your company. read more

After a long day of eating, I wanted to squeeze in a last minute workout before bedtime.  The visit started off nicely with the chill front-desk worker and a spacious, clean locker room. And then I saw the mess: Dumbbells and plates were left strewn all over the floor around the free weights and smith machines. People abandoned their used paper towels and water bottles on the equipment, so it wasn't easy to tell which machines were free vs being reserved for use. I'm not sure if this gym is understaffed, because I didn't see any workers actively cleaning the exercise floor. I'm also confused as to why people don't re-rack their weights or throw away their trash. Isn't cleaning up after yourself basic gym etiquette? read more

If you're looking for convenience this is the gym to go to. There's the regular machines like the elliptical, stair masters and some workout areas for free weights. The bathroom are always clean and the gym itself always looks organized and put together. I just wish planet fitness had group classes! read more

Very disappointed in this planet fitness location. Not sanitary at all. I was in there for about 1hr and 30 min and did not see anyone cleaning, picking up garbage or refilling wiping spray like i usually do at other planet fitness locations. A lot of machines had tear in them which i feel should be fixed immediately. read more

Been to a bunch of Planet Fitness locations throughout the years (as well as other gym companies) and this location is by far the worst. The staff look almost bothered by anyone's presence; they all seem like just a bunch of bored teens on their phones, or giggling around with each other while the gym looks like a disaster with weights all over the floor, broken machines and overflowing trash on many occasions. Small, dimly lit, hot with a big fan blowing since I guess their AC is down. Just a mess of a location all around. Avoid if you can and just trek a couple miles north and hit the Miramar location if possible. read more

This location is poorly ran and there's zero accountability with upper management to ensure this gym is operated in a way to show value to the customers who find this location close to home. No one enforces the rules, gym users do whatever they want, employees hangout and it's almost a hangout spot for them. To top it off today. Approximately 20-25 Gym users were left without a gym open. It was 8:13 am when I decided to call a different location explain the situation and honor my membership. I'm sure no one cares and those managers who oversee these shifts and store do not care. No one showed up until someone showed up. What a shitty way to start my Sunday morning. Do not trust this location. read more

This year, 2024, for sure is different. Now I see the workers more attentive and more helpful than before, they walk-around more often and my morning workouts are feeling great. I'll say that it has to do with the new management, which has improved and for sure this is turning into one of the best planet fitness. All I would like is a credit for my $15 I've always been charged $10 for the last 18 months or so. This month I was charged $10 and then $15. When I asked the employee he said it was a late fee and good luck with that. He has never seen a refund while he's employed there. I haven't changed my card or bank account and they have always automatically deducted my monthly payment. " How am I late ?" I asked for corporates number and he mentioned they won't help since we are a franchise. Would planet fitness really lose my $10 a month for a $15 refund or credit? read more

Be careful if you freeze your account because they will undue it without your knowledge and charge you fees and not refund you. It is impossible to figure out who is the supervisor since the manager at the gym has no power over billing. Besides that the space here is too small not enough free weights mainly machines and gets crowded really quick unless you go at odd hours. read more

I have been to a handful of different planet fitness as I have the black card. Unfortunately this one is one of the worst but its the closest one to my house. The staff is friendly and helpful and the trainer is very knowledgeable as his craft. The location is also very clean and employees are always coming around to sanitize and pick up. With that said, all machines are very out dated, specifically the tread mills. They are regularly out of order. On two occasions, I have been in the middle of a run and the tread mill shut down on me. This is very dangerous and I, as well as other people, could get seriously hurt. The dumbbells only reach 60 pounds, leaving no room for growth. There is not a sufficient amount of 45 pound plates for the smith machines and leg press machines. People should not have to wait for someone to be done with their sets to continue their own work out. read more

This has to be one of the most depressing gyms in the world. It seems like they do everything possible to rip away costumers motivation to advance in their fitness levels. For example this past week they somehow managed to sink even lower by placing two seriously fat women who have obviously never touched a weight or trained any body part but their jaws while eating, and have no business working in a gym were the most important part is getting motivated, in the front counter and walking around the gym holding a clipboard. This is not a gym for anyone who wants to produce gains in their fitness levels. It also seems very counterproductive to place freaking bagels with cream cheese once a month next to the exit, when the biggest problem affecting most of the customers is a bad diet. This chain of fake gyms should change their name to Oxymoron Fitness. read more

In all honesty, I greatly appreciate the help I received from Claudia at the front desk. I told her a bad situation that my wallet was stolen and she helped right away. She told me if I could come in and I said I was on my way. When I got there her and the general manager neomi helped me out beyond belief. I am very appreciative for there help with the matter. It's ok. I wish they had more stuff like bosu balls, step up benches and boxes, foam rollers, ropes maybe. Maybe bc it's kinda new they're still working on it (I hope). It's a good gym for cardio and to go work out with a friend. They only have one water fountain which is weird. My grandma loves it there. read more

Planet fitness is very similar to most gym's. During peak hours you will struggle to find an empty machine, weights or treadmill. During slow hours you can finish your workout in about 30 minutes. Planet fitness is not in LA fitness or a Bally's. It's about the size of a Gold's gym. There are several TVs the bathrooms and lockers are very clean and very well-kept. It's a very good gym the one downfall the planet fitness has they don't specialize in free weights, they have several exercise machines and they have several cardio machines as well but lack the free weights. I still believe you can achieve an optimal work out, but if the weights are your thing then you're going to have to wait quite a while during peak hours for them to clear. Like I mentioned to you before they have several cardio machines they also have several machines for you to work out, white card members pay $10 a month black cardmembers pay $20 a month and have access to waterbeds and massage chairs along with tanning booths. But honestly that's a steal you can't beat that anywhere else. They also have several refrigerators were protein shakes water and other refreshments to be charged to your monthly account, they also have their personal trainers and staff members help you out, for me it's a very convenient location since it's right off of red road and I 75. Now go after your New Year's resolution to lose some weight !!! read more

I've been to a few Planet Fitness, I must say HANDS DOWN!!! This is the worse one kept. I cannot believe this is the same owner from the one in Hialeah Gardens, but it is. Machines are falling apart, Dumbbells missing, its constantly a mess, because the staff doesn't help in keeping it neat. I swear if it wasn't' out of desperation because its the closest gym to our home for the price, I wouldn't go!!! I've been a member for about 2.5 years and I've noticed its complete deterioration. Love this location for many reasons. For starters, they are keeping the safety of gym goers and their staff as high priority. From showers and lockers being sanitized throughout the day, to all free weights and machines, they know how to keep their space clean! Shoutout to Christine for always putting a smile on my face and making me feel welcome the moment I step into the gym. I am a planet fitness black card member and have frequented this gym when I am in North Miami area. I travel alot for business and use many planet fitness all over the united states. This has to be the filthiest most disorganized gym ive been to . The staff are young and seem friendly but never leave the front desk . No one is cleaning this gym at all . They just sit there and talk to each other . The local gym members are as culpable for this messy gym . No one ever puts back any weights instead they are strewn all over the floor so you have to be really careful when walking around so as not to trip on weights thrown all over the floor ! A total hazard. Forget about using the weights, you have to go on an easter egg hunt to find them . Who works out with weights and then just leaves them On the floor !!!! As a fellow latina im Ashamed to say I rather drive 20 min go to another gym thats clean and organized . Come on my cuban people ! You have to do better than that. The machines are taken over by little groups that are busy chatting , taking gym selfies and sometimes just sitting at the machines staring off into space . Out of the three planet fitness facilities that I've been too, I think this is my favorite one. Simply because I've noticed that people are very good with maintaining the equipment clean and the weights are always racked where they're supposed to go. The bathrooms always kept clean and I like the fact that most of the time that I come to work out here, there's always someone either cleaning the floors or cleaning the mirrors which is good to actually see first hand and know that the place is being kept consistently clean. There's an ab and stretching room which sometimes I even use when I want to work out legs with small weight rather than using machines or when I want to do quick cardio sessions. There's also the perfect amount of treadmills, ellipticals and stair masters, enough for everyone. If you want to select one location for the $10 membership, I recommend this one. read more

The workers Alice and Ryan are amazing. Alice helped me with signing up earlier and Ryan literally saved my life. While I was on the cardio machine I took off my lanyard because it was bothering me while I was jogging and left without noticing. Hours later when I noticed I called and told the worker Ryan he told me he would look for them and luckily found them and called me back. He could've been malicious about it , called me and told me he didn't find them and stayed with the credit cards ,AirPods and etc...I got there to pick them up and I went to give him the only cash I had on me because he literally saved me life but as a good employee would he denied. The staff never greets you when you enter nor say good bye.They're too busy chatting with their friends.As soon as you walk in you can smell dust&mold in the air. I have to take an allergy pill when i go,otherwise I would b sneezing&getting hives. I never see the staff cleaning none the less the members.It's as if the spray bottle&paper towels Are there for decoration.Members ignore the sign about wiping down their machines.Also,I don't know what the etiquette is in South Florida when it comes to working out.But I find it extremely rude when people stare at you or at the machine you're working on while working out.Seriously, how insecure Are people? read more

The good machines are always taken and some of the staff could care less about customer service. When we had a problem with using one of the amenities the manager from Hialeah happened to be there and instead of offering customer service he was borderline degrading and did not seam to care if we continued to stay at the gym. This location is by far the worst of the area. Plenty of times including last night, gym closed. How unprofessional of you Planet Fitness. It was 5 of us waiting outside thinking maybe the employee was taking a break or something. The machines are old and outdated, of course many of them don't even do the right function. Roaches are a thing over there. Also in the middle of your workout they have this super rude lady trying to get in the way to vacuum, like come on, at least say excuse me or something, like a normal person. For it being such a small facility it has a good variety of machines and it's usually pretty clean and organized. I will say that some of the employees have a bad attitude, especially the girls. I have a membership in another gym in Miramar and I've never experienced what I do every time I walk into this PF. Some of the employees aren't very polite when you come in or leave. They just have a bad attitude, never a smile or a "Hi, welcome back", just "what's your ID number" with a long face. One time one of the girls looked at me and with a huge attitude said "How old are you?" I'm 20. "You look 12". Wow, ok? And, on every first Monday of the month they have free pizza...a table stacked with pizza boxes for their clients. I'm sorry but that makes no sense to me. Some of these people are trying to better their health and lifestyle and they're throwing away whatever little exercise they got with a few slices of pizza! Unbelievable and talk about being counterproductive. I asked one of the guys at the front desk why not something more nutritious and he responded with sarcasm "This is a judgement free gym, it's their choice if they eat the pizza" and he just walked away. Rude? Yeah. I understand the "No Judgement" thing but I thought it was referring to the whole no judging you on how much weights you're doing or if you're using the machine right or if you're not as ripped as the person next to you. Never did I interpret that slogan as a "Let's disregard being healthy and progress by enabling people to continue their unhealthy lifestyle." I'm only going here for the summer until school starts because it's closer to home but this place does not compare to my other gym. read more

Was so hard to make myself go to gym tonight after work instead of meeting my friends for dinner at local restaurant! However, I squeezed myself into gym clothes and pushed myself out of the door of comfy house to go planet fitness-hey, they promise no intimidation, support for beginners and no criticism. Wrong! Never had problem with my look, my outfit, my bag, my account till today when manager miss Kimmie met me at front desk. Surprisingly I got gymtimidated by manager of planet fitness, felt uncomfortable, out of the place and like I don't belong there. Make sure you fit their parameters of weight, age, race, nationality or you will be judged and will never want go to gym again. Pros: Personal trainer there is awesome! Planet Fitness - Gyms Near Me - Hialeah, Florida

I've been working out here for the past two weeks and so far I've had no negative experiences. Before coming here I tried Gold's gym and loved it but couldn't afford the price tag. Then I heard or read about Planet Fitness's $10/month membership and signed up. My whole thing is weights. I'm trying to get toned and build muscle and weights are needed for that. I was concerned when I read that Planet Fitness wasn't big on weights and even when I called the girl on the phone told me that the heaviest they had was 65lbs. I thought I made a mistake signing up but then I went to the gym and was relived to find that they do have a lot of weight machines, weights to go over 65lbs, and plenty of free weights. Today I went at 1 pm and had no problem finding free machines or weights. The vibe here is really chill. Sometimes I struggle with an exercise and the people around me are always willing to help. This gym offers free personal trainers, I've never tried one and to this day have only seen one man wearing a "personal trainer" t-shirt. So I don't know about that. The place is always clean, bathrooms are nice, they have showers if you're into showering at the gym. Call me weird but I always feel like someone is going to come and snatch the curtain away while I'm in there. This is a great gym for anyone that wants to get and stay fit. If body building is your thing then maybe you should look into something else because you will get bored fast. read more
