Maria leads a pace that challenges my practice every time. Michelle has amazing tips and is always switching it up. I always leave her class feeling I elevated my practice to the next level. After a stressful day I can always count on Dawn for a peaceful and energizing workout and no matter how far I've come in my practice, Paulene's hot yoga class always kicks my butt but I absolutely love it! No matter where you are in your practice the teachers at HOY will guide you along your way. They have reasonable rates and great packages. I researched a lot of teachers, but couldn't find the one that resonated with me. When I came across the Wellness Room page I was immediately drawn to their services. I decided to start small and attended one of the free reiki circles hosted on Tuesday nights to feel out the space and Fernando. It was an instant kismet situation. He holds a beautiful space for all who arrive, has a calm yet powerful energy and is eager to teach those who are hungry enough to learn. I then felt drawn to undergo a one-on-one past life regression, and "WHOA" is all I can say. I don't know about you, but I struggle with letting go, let alone being vulnerable in a space with someone who has the potential to view secrets I didn't even know reside in myself. Feeling comfortable and at ease with Fernando would be an understatement. He was professional beyond words, helped guide me through tough areas, and even allowed me time after the hypnosis to unpack a few things I didn't quite understand. I knew immediately the next steps would be reiki. His reiki class was well organized, very informative, and thought out. The way he teaches leaves you wanting more and eager to apply the teachings. He provides snacks and didn't mind that we picked his brain a bit after the class was over. There are hidden teachings within his teachings that allow you to have some food for thought even days after the class. His methods are traditional yet simple and I love the respect he shows the practice. He keeps the teachings very science base and strays away from going to woo woo. He also has the most comfortable cushions to sit on that support your back and hips in all areas. If you are feeling the pull to learn reiki, meditate, unpack some past life stuff, or just want to see what holistic healing is all about, take that small leap of faith and visit the Wellness Room, you won't regret it!

I needed to renew my ACA instructor certification and wanted to get WPA instructor certification, so I did an ACA Level 1 and 2 SUP workshop and WPA level 1 SUP instructor training/certification with TFY. Meghan is the best SUP instructor/instructor trainer I've had. She's obviously very knowledgeable, but more importantly, she's also awesome at conveying that knowledge. We covered a huge amount of information in the ACA L1/2 workshop, but she made it manageable and easily understandable. The welcome letter she sends prior to class is very helpful and lets you know what to bring, the schedule, and what to expect. Her videos are also extremely helpful to watch beforehand. I thought the ACA workshop would be largely review for me, but I was surprised by how much I learned. She's also very upbeat, encouraging, and patient, and her low-pressure approach creates the perfect environment for learning. She taught high school math for 9 years, and I think her background in education plus her SUP knowledge and skills make her an outstanding instructor and instructor trainer. Dr. Damas is a life saver and really helped me understand the difference between the medications and the value of their uses. He is extremely knowledgeable and has an amazing energy with a great personality, a true genius in this field. The Miami Lakes location has become my "home" since it's close to my office and other important needs in Hialeah. It's located in the Royal Oaks Plaza, with plenty of free parking and yes the temptation of restaurants :) Head Coach Bryanna, and Coaches Derrick & Luis make you feel like family through the exercise program and motivation. Their classes are very high energy, and amplified by preworkout Cafecito. Orange Theory as a chain also has monthly additional themed challenges that are always exciting, such as Hell Week in October, All Out Mayhem in May, and DriTri (essentially the OTF Olympics.) The rower is torture :) but actually one of the better machines to stay in shape. I would certainly recommend Orange Theory, and the Miami Lakes one in particular if you want to achieve your fitness goals surrounded by good friends.
