My choosing this gym was primarily an economic decision, since even their black card membership is substantially cheaper than the trendier gyms and thus a great deal for anyone getting started (or getting back) into fitness. The front desk clerks have been pleasant so far, but I haven't seen any of the trainers to help guide my use of exercise machines. I think the trainers are available only during certain times not convenient to those of us with 12plus hour workdays. Since I'm just getting back, I've been using mostly the treadmills which are in good shape, as well as the stair master. I did use their pulley weight machine, however the hook was missing from one of the stations. It also sucks they don't have a scale for weighins and checkup. I'm a numbers guy and need the stats to keep pushing. Their vending machines shouldn't have soda - I already have enough temptation with pastries at the office! The hydro massage chairs and beds are awesome to help loosen up that rust as I work to get back in shape.

If you tell staff about a problem it never gets fixed, some tell you it's their first day like someone else in another yelp user was saying. This is "cubaton" on full affect in this place. I was attacked by one of their members who was harassing me & attempted to shove me out of a machine. I wouldn't let him & stood my ground. I called the cops but an employee had given video that only showed me defending myself rather than being attacked & harassed. After the full video footage was later reviewed by the State Attorney's Office, the charge against me were dropped. Now I have to pay as an innocent person for an expungement plus all the money I had to spend on my lawyer to get the video from this place that proved my innocence. I'll never step into another planet fitness ever again.

This location has been open for a handful of months now and it's my go-to when I can snag a low…read morecredit workout slot on ClassPass! They have dynamic pricing for their starts-every-10 minutes workouts with the super early peak 5am-7am slots being over 10 credits each (over $22). But their off peak workouts can go as low as 4 credits each ($8-9). Perhaps because it's new, the studio is sparkling and bright with two of its walls being completely glass windows. The equipment is a pleasure to use, since it hasn't been worn out. The foam pads for resting arms during plank exercises are plush, the sandbags haven't been broken in the middle and have intact sturdy handles, and the medicine balls don't have threads sticking out or about to open stitching. This makes it easy to focus on decoding the movements on the screen in each station and doing them 3 times each. Plus, like each Sweat440, they have towels available to use! My sweaty self thanks them. Each workout for the day has a focus on lower body, upper body, core and cardio or total body. 4 stations for 40 minutes in total with a minute between each station and starting every 10 minutes means you will be able to get the workout in, with no excuses. The movements are shown on a screen at each station, so you don't waste any time asking someone what the next movement is. It does mean you have to grasp the movement in 30 seconds and go when the buzzer goes off, but there is always a trainer going around on the floor if you need to ask for clarification. The only thing you have to think a little more about is how heavy a weight you want to use for the next movement. There will be 10, 25, 45 pound free barbell weights available for something like a goblet squat or squat press, and there will be a full rack of free weights to do something like chest presses, renegade rows or Romanian deadlifts. It's up to you to decide how heavy you want to go, but it's good to start light since you'll be doing it for two more rounds. What I like with this location is that I've always seen at least two trainers present, one at the check in desk and one on the floor cheering and correcting form. It means if you have an issue with your account or a question, you don't have to wait for the trainer to come off the floor to address it. I jammed and skinned a finger in the weight rack once and was able to get a trainer to give me a bandage for my bloody finger right away. The location is great in the heart of downtown Miami Lakes, where a lot of restaurants and shops have been coming up. If you're in the area, I definitely suggest you check this studio out and get your sweat in!

The concept of never being late is very helpful. Their classes start every 10 mins and there are 4 stations with 3 movements in each. It's a 40 minute workout that will leave you feeling great! The coaches and staff are super friendly and constantly motivating you, our favorite coach so far has been Apollo. Each day of the week targets either upper body or lower body. As a tip, Saturday and Sunday classes are harder as they are full body workouts. Gym always looks clean and fresh and smells nice ;). There are free lockers, a water station, showers and restrooms. We aren't the type that would have gym memberships, but we signed up right away after trying out the free class!

Overall: Cleanliness:…read more Service: Quality: Efficiency: Value: I really want to love this location -- it has the space, the equipment, and the potential -- but it honestly can be one of the dirtiest gyms I've been to in Miami. The bathrooms are never clean. Yesterday they were flooded; today they were just plain filthy. Nobody was around cleaning either time. You look up at the vents, and they're packed with dust -- possibly mold. The equipment is often covered in sweat stains, and half the time there's no cleaning spray or paper towels to wipe anything down. For what members pay, that's just unacceptable. Service is hit or miss. Most of the staff are friendly on a good day, but today the front attendant seemed completely uninterested. There's rarely anyone walking the floor making sure things are in order or helping maintain basic gym etiquette. Quality is decent -- there's a lot of equipment, and most of it works -- but it's chaos trying to find what you need. Weights are never where they belong, and no one enforces re-racking. You'll find a 50-pound dumbbell in the 10-pound slot more often than not. That kind of disorganization really kills the experience. Efficiency suffers because of all of the above. Between the crowding, the lack of cleaning supplies, and the "meat market" culture where people are more focused on chatting and flirting than actually working out, it's hard to get in, train, and get out efficiently. Value is average. The monthly fee isn't terrible, but given how dirty and disorganized this gym is, it doesn't feel worth it. South Florida gyms can and should do better -- especially one carrying the UFC name. Overall: -- Could be a five-star gym if it were maintained with the same discipline UFC represents. The management there seems really cool (I can't imagine they would be ok with this) but the last month or so, it's been going down hill. Right now, it's a 1-2 star experience at best.

Fast forward to about 2, 3 years ago that I dedicated myself hardcore to fitness and I can say that Orange Theory works! It has helped me stay healthier and more energetic. The Miami Lakes location has become my "home" since it's close to my office and other important needs in Hialeah. It's located in the Royal Oaks Plaza, with plenty of free parking and yes the temptation of restaurants :) Head Coach Bryanna, and Coaches Derrick & Luis make you feel like family through the exercise program and motivation. Their classes are very high energy, and amplified by preworkout Cafecito. Orange Theory as a chain also has monthly additional themed challenges that are always exciting, such as Hell Week in October, All Out Mayhem in May, and DriTri (essentially the OTF Olympics.) The rower is torture :) but actually one of the better machines to stay in shape. I would certainly recommend Orange Theory, and the Miami Lakes one in particular if you want to achieve your fitness goals surrounded by good friends.
