This gym is a little bit smaller than the others we have visited around the country, but it had most everything we needed to get in a good workout. There were several rows of cardio and the elliptical machines worked just fine. They do still have the 30 minute circuit equipment, but it's in the middle of the workout area, but still effective. They had several smaller side rooms, one with the new squat rack and weights so that's nice. They also had an abs and stretching room, but there isn't a ton of floor space for mat work It was very clean, they have a really nice lobby and black card area and staff were super friendly read more

i just had to move my membership as i am tired of the plumbing issues causing the closures and the lack of communication about it, Yes i accept plumbing issues happen but i have never had an email from them about it, i turned up at 5am and saw a sign and went elsewhere ok the first few times, After that i checked the banner on the website as the reply says below, it showed if they were open and i planned accordingly, then (Tues 9th Dec the alternate site said this site opens 10 Dec) and the banner saying it was closed was removed from the website, yet at 5am Wednesday morning lots of cars were waiting outside, the website said open yet there is a sign on the door and again no email or communication. Poor customer service i hope the place i go in future communicates better. read more

I have lived in different places and used & belonged to numerous Planet Fitness locations. I have been using Main St. Longmont as my primary location for 3 1/2 years. For the longest time they did a poor job taking care of equipment, e.g., ripped leather/vinyl on almost half the equipment, broken machines could take longer than a month to get fixed. Then they seemed to get their act together. They fixed everything up, but the new problem -- as others have noted -- is that they are repeatedly closed due to "plumbing problems." And not for just a couple of days at a time, but weeks. They had the whole place shut down for a month last summer to -- among other things -- get the plumbing reworked. But, six months later, they are again closed due to "plumbing issues", and again, the "repairs" are taking weeks to complete (totally absurd). In the meantime, they are offering everyone from this larger, recently renovated gym, the opportunity to cram into the smaller gym at the other end of Longmont. They should also be giving every one a refund for the time that they're closed, for our inconvenience. AND THEY NEED TO DO A BETTER JOB COMMUNICATING THE STATUS by updating the sign on their door with more than "Closed due to Pluming Issues", and having an updated message when you call their number (instead of just infinite ringing). read more

The plaza setting DOES NOT match the interior. The exact opposite might we add. What a beautiful facility with TONS of machines. We mean TONS! The design of this location is upscale and modern and the cleanliness matches. The workout area as well as the bathrooms are SUPER clean. Staff were all friendly as well. What we really loved were the showers here. Especially the men's room. Having a place to get undressed in private and walk right into your shower is spot on. Very spacious locker rooms and several stalls and urinals were also refreshing to see. A fantastic location for sure! We will be using this for our 3 day local stay! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Showers were appalling, white mold and mildew all over the curtains and floors. Staff/manager was frequently absent "running to the store to get gum". Canceled my membership and was charged for five months afterwards. Talking to friends and coworkers, PF is notorious for this. Will always, ALWAYS pick any single other gym than PF. The cheap price is not worth it, and clearly reflects in their facilities, staff, and business practices. Only plus side is they've got equipment you can't fit in your home I've spoken to management and all I got was a letter saying they pinky promise not to charge me again. No refund for the company's errors. I'm not interested in speaking with anyone from PF unless it's a refund for all the unauthorized charges to my account. I was down in Longmont doing a project so I decided to try this planet fitness 2255 N Main St, Longmont, CO 80501... That was the biggest mistake I have ever made management was very rude.. Expresly the management or manager that was there on 9/8/20 at 5 o'clock p.m. she was the most fruit is woman I have ever worked with raising her voice calling me a liar, She was the only manager there with a black shirt on... they do not clean their machines and they lied about my membership, When my monthly membership was over.. and I tried to extend it and they told me that it was under account that wasn't even mying.... Planet Fitness at this Location is unable to cancel memberships for those no longer in the area. They are still trying to charge me for a service I do not want and have attempted to cancel every month for the last 8 months. The refuse to let anyone speak to management and Corporate is set up so they can not intervene in a locations practices. Dont expect staff to be professional if you want to speak to management. BEWARE they will not cancel your membership no matter how many times you try if you are not in the area anymore. They expect you to Get documents Notarized or for you to appear in person. Planet fitness is only $10 a month. It's never ever crowded and you don't have to wait for a treadmill (which I imagine what hell is like) like at some places (24 Hour fitness). The staff at this location is so nice especially the lady with short hair and the guy with curly hair. It's always clean and the TVs always play a big variety but I only wish one tv would air E! Network Hahah. Come on I gotta keep up with the Kardashians. Free WiFi too! For only $20 a month you can upgrade and bring unlimited guests with you and go to any location. I'm a fan of this place more than any other gym chain! Only con is the sketch parking lot. For some reason there's always several people sitting in the cars watching everyone go by and it's always so dark with no adequate lighting. Also a surprising number of people try to fight you for parking spots apparently wanting to hit up the dollar tree next door lol. Last week a lady turned the wrong way into a spot cutting me off and I saw her walk into the tobacco shop. Look at her car and of course, you can guess who she voted for in 2016. My experience here over the last year has really been nothing but positive. The inside is always clean and the staff for the most part is always polite and helpful when it's needed. For my uses it has just about every possible equipment that I could want. I used to go about 4pm and there really wasn't anyone there, so no fighting for machines, but as I started to go later around 6 or 7 , it got pretty full up and had a little bit of difficulty getting done what I needed, but there really wasn't and true issues with anything, just a much slower work out. The overall campus is kept pretty clean and everyone does there share to clean the stations when they are done. Same goes for the bathroom which is always pretty clean and maintained. If you don't have access to another gym for the price and convenience this is a great deal and place to go for your basic workout needs. They also have various classes available that anyone can sign up for if you're looking for something specific or just to learn something new with guidance. read more

I signed up for the black card which is the 20 dollar a month Option, while my husband did the 10 dollar a month. Soooo reasonable compared to other gyms we have been members of in the past including the rec center. The gym is large, clean, with plenty of equipment. Staff incredibly friendly and never too crowded. We love the 30 minute circuit station. The parking lot is very full always, but may as well walk when you're here to get exercise! read more

To me this gym is kind of a paradox. They want to create an accepting, "no-judgement" atmosphere. However, in the corporate effort to make this happen it seems PF has taken a wrong turn somewhere. While they strive to create this kind of place where people can feel emotionally comfortable working out, I feel myself being judged... by the staff and the corporate guidelines. First off, no scale in the whole place. OK, I get it. They want people to focus on fitness and not the numbers. BUT, there are some of us who want to weigh in every few weeks on a proper scale, and the option simply isn't there. Second, my husband, who is a bean pole of a man who looks nothing like a gym rat or a bodybuilder, was told he couldn't bring a gallon jug of water in with him. We were told they "don't want to perpetuate that kind of environment." Um, I have no idea what this means, except that it means he's never gone back and if I go, I have to go to the trouble of finding a clean Nalgene in my whirlwind disaster of a kitchen before I go. There seems to be a strange divide here between the staff and the patrons. When I go, all the people who work there are congregated behind the counter and do little beyond standing there watching me have my tag scanned. I'm used to neighborhood gyms where the staff engages and talks to people, and I don't really see this happen here. But I do get the impression that if I were to drop a weight (I like to work HARD), or if I were to grunt extra loud (see reason #1), I would get admonished even if from a distance. I mean, it's a GYM. Is wanting to get a good, hard workout (while not making others feel bad) a horrible thing? I get the impression that here, it might be. As far as facilities, I'd call it "just OK." Only one type of weight machine for hamstrings. Not enough free weights. TONS of cardio, which is great if all you want to do is cardio. But for those of us who want more resistance training options, it just really isn't there. Lots of bells and whistles: Tons of TVs, iPod hookups on the cardio machines, circuit training areas. $10 bucks/month, open 24 hours (with brief closedown weekend nights)/ and a huge xpress/ convenient gym and someone had the balls to bitch/ wow! I've belonged to major mega gyms with all the amenities, but all were sales pitch orientated. me being a free-weight/ heavy lifter, was disappointed when I first walked in; especially no free bench. but I was quickly relieved when I used the machine bench, they were pressurized/ forcing me to concentrate and go slower and breathe. also find they make it easy do it yourself circuit set ups/ with timers. I feel it's geared towards total fitness. planet fitness is a cool gym; minus the steroid heads, and the kids on weekends in many mega gyms with daycare. I like the vibes, and don't regret joining. I find I do my work outs quicker (in/out). highly recommend. read more

I was diagnosed with Lupus in early Sep. When trying to cancel my membership I feel as if I was thrown through a loop hole. My first step of action was through the website. And you cannot cancel through the website, I think that is rather unfair. So I called and was told to write a letter or come in. With my recent diagnosis I decided to write a letter. Then came October where I was charged my annual fee and monthly fee. I then called again. Was assured my membership would be canceled due to medical. Not only was I told this, but that last payment I was charged over drafted my bank account and I was charged an additional $31 with my bank. I then tried to contact corporate, but was on hold for over 22 min. So i took the charge as what I thought would be my last payment. Come November, I am charged another monthly fee. I was pretty upset and tried calling corporate yet again and was on hold for 17 min and 37 seconds. 2 times calling with no success. I then went into the Planet Fitness in Louisville, where the employees were extremely kind, and was told I would have to go to my main gym location. I do no think it should be this difficult to cancel a membership and it should not be this difficult to contact corporate. I cant even lodge a complaint about my home club because it goes directly to the person I am trying to lodge a complaint on. Im now out over $100, sick, and trying to cancel my membership. I call my home club, the first women I talk to on the phone is very pleasant, apologetic and understanding. The manager I talked to second was not. I finally think/prey my membership has OFFICIALLY been canceled but it should not have been that hard or taken that long. Im very very un happy with your set up. That it took this long, that I cant speak with corporate, that Im out this money. Especially today, you couldn't even refund me on the same day of charge?! Love this place - love the circuit room, love the ab circuit, love the hydromassage beds, love EVERYTHING! Since joining (I'm a black-card member), I've gone back to Michigan and Iowa on vacation (I know, who goes to MI and IA for vacation?!?!) and have used the clubs closest to where I was staying in both places. I'll be going to AZ here in a couple of weeks and am looking forward to checking out the club in Chandler too. Just the ability to utilize all of the different clubs this summer (and not having to pay drop-in fees at any of them) made the extra $$ for the black card membership worth it, and has paid for itself! Its pretty disappointing that on google, their website, and yelp it says that they are open 24/7, when are in fact NOT. I dont know what time they close but when I arrived at 1:15AM on 1/6/2021, both doors were locked and there was a man waiting outside for the gym. He let us know that the gym reopened at 2AM. Again this is a 24/7 gym, No CLOSED signs were posted, just the COVID-19 signs, and all the lights and TV's were still on. read more

For the price, this is an excellent gym. The equipment is basic, but there are more than enough machines and always in good condition. It is clean and pleasant, a great vibe. The staff is absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend that you take advantage of time with a personal trainer. Britney is awesome, an excellent teacher, will set you up with a great plan. You can't beat the extras like tanning beds and tootsie rolls. read more

After accidentally dropping I weight I was screamed at and berated by Bidi. She continued to yell about how I've been warned before even know I have never been talked to once. Do NOT join!!! Do NOT join!!!! If you move or need to travel it's not easy to cancel even after you fulfill your contract. In order to cancel you must send them a certified letter asking to cancel and even that may not work especially if they do not have your information in the system incorrectly which I was told today is the case. They will not accept a call, a fax, an email with ID nothing except a certified letter and even with that you need to FOLLOW UP!!!! Just beware !! This was my first gym and I'm glad I joined it was cheap and nice to ease into the fitness industry. The free weights are a little small and there are no squat racks, but that's nationwide I believe. I went to cancel my membership and they said I was overdue which I was never notified of through mail or anything, but they waived all the other fees so it was fine. It's dirty, dark and the staff is very unfriendly especially the females and there is always a bunch old folks not even working out but just staring at you and hugging up the machines. Stole 40 bucks out of my account. I call them up and tell them i signed up for $10 initally and $5 a month. Guy argues with me that i actually signed up for $10 a month as if i cant read or something and that the 40 is an annual fee. I tell him that no where in the contract did i see anything about any 40 annual fee. He desperately argues with me, even after i point out that any annual fees should have come up when i signed up. He indists the 40 only gets charged after you've been a member for 2 months. BS. So even if this guy isnt a liar then that means this gym lures people in with fake promises of low fees and then tries to sneak 40 bucks out of your account when they think you're least likely to notice. I've been going to this gym for about 4.5 years now, pretty much since the time they opened in Longmont. Any gym for me is a supplement to other workouts and activities, but I generally find myself here 3-4 times a week (more of less, depending on the season and what else I have going on). Initially, the big pull was the price, as I'm sure is the case for many. Over the years, I've paid up to $75/mo for gym memberships, so a mere $10/mo seemed fantastic, and I knew if I couldn't go for a week, it wouldn't be the end of the world. The good that has happened in my time here is that the equipment is rarely out of service. If a machine needs repair, it's generally no more than a couple of days before it is serviced and back up and running. They have also continued to add machines (such as recently, the rotating stairs - which I personally love!). There are plenty of cardio machines and I have never been here at a time when I was unable to get on something. There are definitely busier times of the day, but with so many machines, it's tough to complain. The staff are generally friendly (as others have stated, they are often huddled behind the counter, chatting with each other, but I really don't take issue with this as I don't need to have regular conversations with the front desk when I arrive). I would say 80% of the time I get a cordial greeting, and that's good enough for me. The gym is also clean. I've been in some pretty filthy gyms, but the staff here do a decent job of keeping floors free of debris, and I rarely see dirty machines. The locker rooms are also clean and well maintained. As others have stated, the water pressure in the shower is severely lacking, but again, for $10/mo, it's tough to be too critical about this. The parking situation (no parking in the first 11 spaces down any aisle, and 30-minute only parking in several other spaces) is its own special sort of issue that hasn't been resolved, but I can let that go. For me, it's a minor issue overall. My biggest criticism of this PF location is the 30-minute Express Workout. If you have not been in this gym, this is a separated section/room that has weight machines and cardio stations that are numbered. The intention is that a person comes in, starts at #1 (a cardio station) and moves to #2 (a weight machine), and so on alternating through the room. There is a lighted timer to tell the individual when to move on to the next machine. This room has been the bane of my existence though since starting here years ago. I LOVE that they have this area because when I don't have a ton of time, I can go in and push myself at the cardio stations and then at the weight stations and get a pretty decent, quick workout. However - and this is a big however - this room is not used at all as it should be by 60-70% of the people who enter it, causing huge headaches for anyone who is doing what s/he should be doing. It makes logical sense that if a second (or third, or fourth, etc) person comes in and the first spot is taken, s/he would start at another spot in the room. That isn't the problem though. People walk into this room, walk over to a weight machine, sit there for 10 minutes doing multiple reps on the machine (which - as a side note - all of the machines in this room are out on the weight floor area of the gym), causing anyone who's actually doing what s/he is supposed to be doing in this room not to be able to go through the workout. Then, there are others who just skip around to various machines in any order they see fit, those who ignore the timer completely, and those who skip the cardio all together. Some of the worst offenders are the people who actually WORK at the gym. The "trainers" bring people into this room to do one or two weight machines, monopolizing the machine for 10-15 minutes, having casual conversations, without a care for who they are disrupting. If the people who work here are training new members that this is what they do in this room, of course people will come in and think it's okay to do one machine and just leave. I have expressed my annoyance to various staff members on different occasions, but it doesn't seem to resolve anything. I guess for $10/mo, no one has to follow the rules. My issue is that if a company is going to have a specified area for a particular workout, shouldn't this be what actually happens in this room? If it's just a free-for-all, then take down the signs and we'll all just use it in any way we would like. I truly hope that the staff and management can get it together though because after 4 1/2 years of being here, I'm seriously contemplating a switch to another gym, even at a higher cost, because I go here 70% of the time to be able to use this specific area when I'm short on time, and if it isn't usable than the gym becomes like any other gym, and there are several other options in town with weight machines and cardio equipment - and most of them also offer classes to mix things up. read more

The staff is very inattentive. Tonight there were 3 behind the counter when I came in and NO ONE paying attention to the floor. No complaints about cleanliness and the machines all work fine - but it doesn't matter if I can't actually use them. At this location, I cannot get through a 30-minute circuit without someone - usually, multiple people camping on weight machines (throughout the facility but especially in the little nooks) - apparently to use the free wifi - The 30-minute circuit section is well outside of the view of the front desk, and is very poorly monitored. One particular guy last night wasn't even in work out clothes. He came in in a button down shirt, linen shorts, and mocassins, and wearing a blue tooth ear piece -- sat on one of the machines and surfed on his phone for nearly 15 minutes while his friend did push ups in the middle of the circuit room... ---------------------------------------------------------- Since my response to PFs copypasta "customer service" comment isn't visible - I'll just post that here too: My kid did that (complained to staff) a couple weeks ago at a location in Denver - after the staff "talked to him" - a different person, obviously ... the person went back into the circuit area and literally yelled *in her face*, calling her names, before he left. It was obvious that he knew who had complained. The staff stood there and gawked during this incident - and did NOTHING to intervene while she was loudly verbally assaulted (fortunately not also physically assaulted) and called a c--t by the guy they'd just warned. She was afraid to walk out to her car alone after her workout. Apparently, this is MORE AND MORE a company wide issue. If this isn't intimidation - wtf is? I am not the gym-police - your staff is. The initiative to make the environment good for all members needs to come from the STAFF. It's not my job to make your gym a welcoming place for me, it's your staff's job - and making your gym a welcoming place is part of your freakin business model. Point is - your staff should be trained well enough and engaged enough with the activities and people in the facility - that happens by someone being out to monitor the floor. You know I hope someone legitimately takes time to address this instead of leaving perky, bot-like cut and paste "customer service" replies. This facility has the same issues, over and over, reported to you on YELP since 2015. Lack of engagement, and poor monitoring of the 30-minute circuit. The location is beyond unappealing at this point and turns me off on the whole company that this issue still hasn't been fixed. Since it's the closest PF gym, and the next nearest is in Westminster - I'll probably cancel and switch to a different company next month when my year is up. read more

Id like to mention, this gym costs $10 a month.. ($20 a month for black card, tanning, massage, etc..) Why is anyone complaining? I have personally never came across a better deal for a gym in my life. This is not a gym for people who are competitive in fitness or crossfit, as they offer no free weights. This is the perfect gym for the average person trying to stay in shape. I love coming here, it is all I need in a gym. Visited this PF while on vacation in nearby Frederick. Found it to be clean and the locals were friendly and considerate. Equipment is in excellent shape and there was plenty available at 8 a.m. on a Saturday morning in May. I've been in larger PFs and smaller PFs. If you really look for a reason to complain you will find one. Being someone who has traveled a lot and has worked out my whole life. I enjoy this gym. It's a person gym with people that work in high volume and do a well job of being pilite. This is a small town which ads to the atmosphere. If you prefer steroid pumped desk clerks I am sure you can find that another place and pay for it. I want a work out and use a hydro massage bed and massage chair. 20 DOLLARS A MONTH..........HELLRRRR......... Haven't seen anyone else carry those in my experience. read more

Be Careful . . . Ask lots of Questions. Signed up about a year ago. BlackCard. Was not told it was a year commitment. They don't take cancellations very well. Just be sure you know the fine print. They could have cancelled my auto withdrawals after my last month the first time I went in to cancel but did not offer to do that. Overall I liked this place. Daughter really wanted to try it out. It's clean and you are free to exercise without being bothered. I just prefer home. Been using Gilad's Bodies in Motion DVD's for years and I get a better workout with them than going out to a gym. Staff needs to improve friendliness to customers. If not they will go the way of Fitness 19 and we all know what happened to them. read more
