For this price point, you can't do better than chain Planet Fitness! I bought the least expensive package to start, and turned down the free upgrade to try the bigger plan. Despite that, They really have everything you need to stay fit. The mobile check in, easy to use well placed self service lockers and convenient setup areas are all user friendly. They are welcoming while being non obtrusive. The app is also helpful to pick non peak times. I love the non-judgement zone theme! Locker room/Bathrooms are reasonably clean. Surprisingly nice if you're okay with having next to 0 free weights other than dumbbells. However, the vibe in the gym is a lot more humble and respectful than the more expensive gyms I've been to where it feels like only 1% of people have the decency to put their weights back where they found them. read more

The gym is always clean and has many options to choose from. Huge downside is that the gym gets SUPER packed at all hours. Times where it seems like a gym won't be busy... every machine is taken. There also seems to be a group training session where the trainer occupies several of the machines and weights for a period of time and you're unable to use them and work out in that area. read more

Not sure what his name is but the employee who works the late night shifts is so sweet. Made me switch PF locations as I used to go to the other Kendall one. It's very chill here. I'm a beginner but I feel less intimidated at this gym. It's also very clean and the facilities are nice. The only thing that sucks is maybe the showers. The water is inconsistent but oh well. PLEASE READ. I only put one star, because I was not allowed to put "0" The managers at this location are underhanded and corrupt. 1) they see me nearly everyday and then tell me that " my home location" has banned me from all planet fitnesses. Because I filed reviews about their location and their west Chester location regarding gym cleanliness and cherry picking masks policies.However, the supposed "general manager" doesn't tell me when I check in. But tells me in the locker room. I ask him for a courtesy phone call to look into the matter from the other gym and explain that I don't understand why and need to address the issue. He REFUSES to call and ask the west Chester gym or to print out any formal paperwork regarding the issue as to why I'm being banned or even my original paperwork, saying that he "can't print that information out." However the other assistant manager angel was able to print it out for me, however because she decides to help me, he gets aggressive and aggravated and starts to intimidate me aggressively to leave "his gym!" I started to record the incident and when I asked for his name he REFUSED to even give me his name to report him to the district manager. Later, when I call the police to explain that I'm being bullied out of the gym without proper procedures. Angel the assistant manager begins to lie to the officer and say that I was being aggressive and violent , when all I was asking for was the name of the general manager who was kicking me out - while getting dressed in the locker room- refused to give me any documentation of a reason why, refused to call and investigate the matter and even refused to give me his name. When I started recording, he walked away and stopped yelling at me, and let Angel defend him and lie on his behalf. She then starts threatening me with calling the police, as I demand to know the name if the GM who is being extremely rude, aggressive and unethical. She doesn't even tell me his name, covering up for him. As a paying member since 2015, I don't believe asking the gym where I pay monthly for for supplies and cleanliness, on top of proper/ thorough explanation and names of "management" is grounds for calling the police and claiming that those are extreme terms of courtesy and respect. Been going to this location for a few years now. In the beginning, the gym was always on point. Recently however, it seems that management just doesn't care as much anymore. The place is completely falling apart! Too many machines are always out of order. It's always dirty. No one walks around to pull out the used paper towels left behind in the bottle holders of the machines by other lazy and inconsiderate members. Buckets under the sink from leaks. When it rains a lot, a section of the gym has to be closed off due to a major leak from the ceiling. Too frequently I've walked into the locker rooms to find staff just hanging out in there on their phones. WiFi sucks! There was even an occasion where I was on one of the treadmill, and a staff member thought it was a great idea to walk down the entire row of treadmills spraying a disinfectant. I had to cut my workout short because I have asthma and was coughing my lungs out after that. I think it's definitely time for me to cancel my membership and go someplace else!!! read more

There is a few gyms scratch that this is the only gym that I can walk into an no one will judge me. Why? They have a judgement free zone and if someone dares to judge you press this button and bam they will know that person has been judging. It's a really good gym to go too. Staff at the front desk was unhelpful when I was trying to bring a guest that could have wanted to sign up for a membership as well. One of the first things that my guest noticed was that no water fountains at this gym are currently working. Maybe a water station could be set up in the meantime till this is repaired. This place has outdated machines! They do not connect to your Apple Watch like many other fitness centers. What a flaw. Signed up and attempted to cancel as I would not be using the membership anymore only to find out that there was a one year agreement. My fault for not reading the agreement and listening and trusting the staff. After sending a certified letter on the 14th I was charged another month. When I received a call that I had to pay a cancellation fee I was pretty ticked. I advised them that I did not authorize them to charge me an additional month since I asked to cancel location manager "Mercy" advised me that since it was after the 10th of the month they were authorized to charge me even though they clearly knew I intended to cancel, and it was in writing 3 days prior to being charged. While I am sure the location has a decent workout environment, watch your bank account, and make sure you carefully read what you are signing. Additionally make sure that you physically go in to the location to cancel. I sent in a certified letter thinking this was the best way to go about cancelling and got charged another 20$ for my efforts. I am sure that this 20$ could have been waived but location manager Mercy, made it a point to give me the " I can and I will charge you attitude". Word of advice...It costs 0$ to be nice to somebody, and Mercy could have taken the time to listen to me, waive the 20$ and when I was able to return as a member I would have. Instead she just lost 4 customers (me and family) because she wanted to show that it just wasn't important to her. read more

This gym is basic but offers exactly what you need to get in shape and reach your fitness goals. The staff is friendly and the gym is fairly organized. Even during rush hours most people are here for the cardio so the weights section is accessible. Memberships are very inexpensive $10 a month for 1 person and $20 if u want to bring a guest. They do have a contract and a yearly fee but it is still a good value for your buck read more

I'm going to write my initial review and update as necessary. I have only been a member for about a month. My initial impression was obviously a good one, or if would not have signed up. The pricing is the hook, line & sinker of course. But it definitely helps that the place is super clean and well maintained. The staff is also friendly. There are tons of cardio machines and about two of each type of weight machines. I have never waited for a machine (with exceptions as if will explain below). However, I do not go at peak social hour. Now, my gripes are not with the gym itself. And I guess that they really have no control over your typical Miami folks that do not exhibit one shred of common courtesy. As I mentioned above, I have not technically waited for a weight machine. I mean, I have not waited for anyone to finish their reps or anything. Oh, no. I have waited for someone to get up after just sitting there for upwards of 15 minutes while chit chatting on their phone. Ironically, my other gripe involves phones as well. I am usually blessed with someone yakking loudly on their phone while next to me on a cardio machine. Seriously. Some even keep their phone on speaker and I get to hear both sides of the conversation while they yell at the phone. I can hear them with my ear buds on. So imagine. People grunting really does not annoy me as much as these folks. Planet Fitness should sound an alarm for these rude people. Since not many patrons wipe down equipment after use, I always wipe it down before AND after. They're open 24 hours on weekdays. So if I ever get a crazy urge to workout at 3AM, I can. Last year I was a member of You Fit and although I wasn't explicitly unhappy with them, I decided to give Planet Fitness a try due to the fact that they have massage and tanning included for the same price I was paying at You Fit. First off, this gym is immaculate! I've read some of the reviews on here and really can't fault any gym for the occasional bad manners or hygiene of another patron. I mean seriously there is always someone cleaning even when it already looks clean. I also appreciate the fact that I don't have to walk through a maze of weight machines upon entering. The set up has clearly been thought through. The second plus for me was that, unlike You Fit who lured me in with the promise of free wifi, Planet Fitness actually DOES have its own wifi instead of mooching off the neighboring businesses. That means wifi works no matter where I go. Cardio workouts seem to go much faster when I'm caught up in an episode of my favorite programs. As far as exercise equipment, PF has all the basic equipment anyone needs to get or stay Fit and staff is always willing and able to show you how to use them I've never had an issue being able to use whatever machine I've needed to but in all fairness, I usually don't go during peak times. Another positive is the unlimited use of massage chairs/tables, and tanning booths. Although they're set up in increments of 5-10 minutes, it's still a very effective way to relax after a workout and long hot shower. I've yet to try the tanning booths but will definitely do so soon and update my review as necessary. Speaking of the shower, the Ladies locker room is spacious and very well set up. I appreciate the changing area that is available separate from actual showers or locker area. The lockers themselves are made to look like wood cabinets instead of metal and this gives it a slightly elegant vibe and less of a high school feeling. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with PF. The only negative so far is that there are not as many locations as the competitors but if they keep up the same level of quality and service, that may change in the near future. In the meantime, for me, it's definitely worth the extra 7 minute drive. read more

I recently signed up for this gym for the sole reason of price. It's only $10/month, with a $20 sign up free and $29 annual fee. I looked at all the gyms around me (Porky's, LA Fitness, 24 Hour Fitness) and they weren't even close to the price of PF. They've got A LOT of cardio machines. A LOT. So if that's what you are looking for, then they've got you covered. They have a great free weight area and a decent number of weight machines. My only gripe would be the number of weight machines - I've gone at low populated times so I've never had to wait for anything I wanted to use but I would expect people waiting at peak times like 5-8 PM. This is probably the cleanest gym I've ever seen and I regularly see employees cleaning machines which is great. It's nice to know that they care about the cleanliness of the gym. With regards to the clientele, I see a good amount of people wiping machines down after use but there could be more. And the last fact isn't a testimony to the gym, rather people in general. The staff is extremely nice and courteous and are always more than willing to help you out. If you're trying to get healthy and fit but have a budget then I would definitely recommend Planet Fitness. It's also open 24/5 Mon - Fri which works out for anyone wanting to get a work out in at 2AM lol. read more

Rob the manger is the RUDEST effing person to walk there. The attitude and entitlement is beyond words. I was trying to cancel my membership and was told by a worker to send an email, the worker itself gave me the email, and I did so immediately. Then I followed up to see if my cancellation happened, I was told only management could check. I called for an entire week trying to get in contact with the manager and was told he was never available. When I finally was able to speak with Rob, he told me that I had to cancel in person and since I didn't cancel before the 10th that I would still have to pay the following month. I explained to him I have it in writing that I sent the email on the 7th but his own workers did not tell me to go in person so I should not be penalized for that, this man with a rude attitude said he will not bend the rules for me, that he will cancel my membership over the phone (already bending the rules) but I still have to pay the following month and I will not get a refund. When I asked for the employees name who gave me the wrong information to complain to corporate, he told me he will not do so because I was being "threatening" and that is personal information. I never called anyone out of their names or threaten anyone for him to say that to me (their calls are recorded). Hope this place get new management cause obviously that man is acting like he owns the place and is on a power trip. read more

After checking out LA Fitness, I can say that I highly recommend Planet Fitness. It's no where near as busy, packed, or dirty. If you prefer a more relaxed and less anxiety-provoking atmosphere- this is it. The machines at LA where older and dirty looking. This may just be due to all the traffic going through of such a busy gym. But I was super grossed out when I placed my hand on a machine and noticed I touched someone else's sweat. Pretty gross. Planet may not have as many services, like a steam room and all that - but I literally just go to the gym to hop on a cardio machine, do a few resistance machines, and go home. I have no use or time for all the other fluff and stuff. Planet offer classes and massage chairs as well as tanning beds if that's what you're into. My biggest accolade for PF is truly just how much cleaner and more pleasant the atmosphere is compared to a larger scale gym. With that being said, this gym is probably more suited for beginners or people interested in simple and quick workouts. read more

I only go to the gym for the 30 minute workout and most of the time I have to skip some machines and go back later because people are using that area not for the 30 minute workout. Today I could not finish my workout because the girl would not get up from the machine she at one time stopped to videotape her self with her phone. She was at the machine for 15 minutes. She should have been in the other area. Also an instructor was using the other machine for her instructions in that area instead of the open use area. She did nothing to help.
