I recommend but with a caveat. Worst PF I've been in and I travel all over. People were okay, except in men showers.. I mean wtf?! Who goes straight into showeee fully clothed and change there? That's what locker is for. And changing stalls. I'm getting ready to go in a several see me and go straight into shower. The machines were okay. It was clean. But treads were not well taken care of. All kinds of issues like wouldn't lower after raising for incline. And other nonsense. One worker at front was on phone the whole time I was working out. 95 min. I'm kind of shocked at all the one star reviews here which are obvious fakes. Most of them have no profile pics, less than 20 reviews with some having only 1 or 2 total, and most not even living close by. Take it with a grain of salt when reading, As for me, I joined this location at the $10 a month deal a few years ago so I can train when visiting family in Ocala a few times a year. Have had no problems with membership fees, and the front desk staff always seems pleasant and says hello. Plus, being open 24/7 is a plus as I prefer to train later in the evening. Never seems too crowded the hours I train. Plenty of available parking in front. This gym is huge with a terrific amount of cardio and weight training equipment, machines, racks, dumbbells, etc. Multiple rooms to work out in. They even seemed to add more smith machines and other equipment the last time I was here a few months ago. Never have a problem getting a treadmill and there are plenty of flat screens with a game on or something to watch. I also didn't see many machines broken or out of order. Sure, there were a few here and there but that's normal in any gym this size, and usually are fixed when a scheduled maintenance person comes by. They also have fridges with cold drinks available by the front desk. The facility itself is bright and clean, and I found the men's locker room to also be well maintained. Sure, at times you'll encounter some slob who leaves a bit of a mess, but that happens in all gyms, but not on a regular basis here. I also have never seen homeless people hanging out here as some have noted. Again, take those reviews with a grain of salt. Perhaps some members have had a bad day at this gym but it's not really an accurate reflection of this location in my opinion. In my past life I was a personal trainer and gym manager so I know the ins and outs of this business. Personally, I have had solid workouts here with no problems. Planet Fitness has built its reputation on being a welcoming and non-intimidating gym, but my recent experience shattered that illusion. What should have been a simple workout turned into a humiliating and unsafe encounter that left me questioning the gym's commitment to its members. I was at the end of a workout in the 30-minute circuit and an old dude came walking in and sat at the next station I was going to. I politely asked the guy, who had taken a machine in the middle of the circuit, to move so i could finish my routine. Instead of a courteous response, I was subjected to a barrage of insults that made me feel not only humiliated but also unsafe in what is supposed to be a supportive environment. In an effort to de-escalate the situation, I sought help from Noah, the manager on duty, hoping for some intervention. However, my hopes were dashed when Noah refused to take any action. His inaction only compounded the humiliation I felt, as it became clear that the staff was unwilling to uphold the gym's supposed values of respect and safety. Instead of creating a judgment-free zone, the atmosphere turned hostile, leaving me feeling vulnerable and unsafe. This experience was not just disappointing; it was deeply unsettling. The refusal of staff to address such blatant disrespect and aggression is unacceptable. Planet Fitness needs to take a long, hard look at how they handle conflicts and ensure that all members feel safe and valued. If the management continues to turn a blind eye to such behavior, it undermines the very foundation of what they claim to stand for. Scott, the head manager, needs to take responsibility for this unacceptable chain of events and make it right. I bought him a membership and after almost a year he came back to KC. you can only cancel if you go in or send a certified letter. it is such a hassle. they do this with the intension of dragging their feet so you keep paying. I had to call PF on 24th ave by the Walmart to speak on my account and unfortunately had to encounter with a rude front desk associate by the name of ALYSSA who was extremely boorish, discourteous, insolent, impertinent, vulgar, and churlish. This place was great 8 months ago. Its gone downhill since then as theres always broken machines when you go in, there's always homeless folks sitting in the lounge and one guy in particular who stays at the desk either distracting the staff or wandering the gym trying to talk to folks. They live in the parking lot in their cars and sell plasma next door to get a membership then take up the lockers or the lounge. The place is dirty a lot of times with half full water bottles and paper towels on the floor and in the locker rooms- the trash overflows at times and there's no paper towels to wipe the machines if you're there after peak hours- not to mention a couple of the towel dispensers are broken. With the free teen summer it's a pain waiting for a large group of them to actually work out and get off the few machines that are present and if you want a Smith machine you're wasting your time as they're usually taken by women doing hip thrusts. manager sucks and needs to tell the truth to his madness about breaking into locker in men's locker room. if this didn't happen I'd be there everyday Still. But that man broke my trust to come back to that planet fitness. this will never happen to me ever again. that's because I'm not coming back. the excuse of break in was someone left there keys in a locker and it happened to be my locker so they said. I love planet fitness but this franchise is run by teenagers Who show no respect for the senior members over 50. Gyms should have knowledgeable staff and provide excellent customer service. The assistant manager was rude and interrupted my workout for a small bag that contained my money and medicine. Yet . I saw large gym bags on the weight floor and cardio deck. When I first started going to this gym it use too be so clean but lately in the last month it has been absolutely disgusting. See pics every single one of these trash bins has trash spitting out. The locker room floors are always dirty! You can tell they tried to mop... its wet, but seems like they swished around dirty mop water. If you have to shower before going to work, use flip flops!! The area where you undress in front of the shower is always gritty and you can see the muddiness and hair. There isn't any paper towels in the bathroom to try to clean up the floor yourself either. And the shower doors are pink with soap scum at the bottom, and they need better gaskets at the bottom to stop the water from running into the dressing area. Some of the machines have sticky pins that don't want to be moved in and out (maybe rust/ or alignment issue). On the plus side it is 24 HRs, friendly staff, private showering/dressing area, hot water (unlike the gym in Belleview), and not too awfully busy in the AM. :) read more

So I have been coming to this gym with my dad for a few months now, and we haven't had any problems. But last night we go in and the worker, Kali, said that my dad can not workout with me because I don't have the right membership. But initially when we went in to sign up, the girl who signed us up said that I could bring guest with the membership we wanted, and even put my dads profile into the system. The issue we had was that Kali was so rude to us and did not handle the situation well at all, and then we ended up having to upgrade my membership which we did not wa.
