I mean it's a good deal, but the annual fee $50 every year , not just once.. and then there is the if you get the cheaper of the plans $10 a month .. you don't have what they call a black card.. so u basically a vip.. for me cause I got the ten dollar a month one instead of the $20 a month black card membership.. so whichever gym u sign up for.. that is the only planet fitness you can use .. so that kinda sucks .. oh yeah and the Black Card membership..is $50 as well .. annually.. oh u have to be a black card member to use any of the message things.. other then those differences.. for what we pay.. the gym is huge!! Every possible piece of gym equipment is there!! The locker room and bathroom were nice and clean.. there is shower as well..! Everyone was very nice and courteous..and very knowledgeable. All over.. Great place to workout. My husband and I joined with our renew Active membership, so our basic membership was free, we paid just for the Black card portion. It's clean, plenty of machines to use and never a wait. Bathrooms are clean also. The only downside is that there are no group classes, so if you like those this won't be the place for you. read more

This place is outdated, I went to the Leesburg location and they had so many machines that were also updated with a tc at every machine, people cleaning while your using equipment, you dont see any of the workers doing anything but sitting at the desk, most of the machines are not working properly. Not enough machines. We pay an amount that should make it a clean environment. Go to another location. It states that a new location is coming in Summerfield, cant wait to go there it will be closer and hopefully a better location. read more

Wow.... just wow. I was traveling back south after the Irma evacuation. Found this location on my GPS. Decided to take a break from driving and do a workout. I park and start to walk up to the door. There is a pillar in front of the doorway blocking my view of the entrance. I turn the corner and see there is construction inside and I cant go in -- I am sure its damage from hurricane Irma. No fault of the location. Where I become shocked is that there are 3 employees outside and look at me like I am a complete idiot. The tall-ish white dude who talks feminine looks at me with his eyes wide and says "uh, we are closed today." He then looks at his colleagues like a little girl and sighs with saying "duhh" under his breath and starts laughing at my expense. Man I wish the owner was there, it completely blew my mind that an employee would openly be so disrespectful. Especially when lots of people are coming through who are not local right now. If I lived in Ocala, I would tell everyone to stay away from this place due to the staff being immature and disrespectful. Grow up and act your age guys. Talk about being judgemental. These employees have no business working where there is supposed to be no judgement. read more

First of all let me say that all of the employees I have interacted with at Planet Fitness have been great. I also think for the cost of a membership at Planet Fitness is a good deal. The reason for 3 stars is based on my experience with the 30 minute workout. At 65 years old their set up with the 30 minute workout stations fits my needs perfectly. The problem is I am seldom able to complete the work out with out interruptions by other members using the 30 minute machines without consideration of others attempting to complete the workout cycle. When others come into the room and tie up a machine while they complete multiple sets and use their cell phone in between those sets it makes it difficult to complete the workout as designed. Asking someone to let me go through the cycle is reacted to by some in a positive way. However sometimes it leads to negative responses. Working out for me is a major way to relive stress. Working around some of the interruptions and responses received from others does not relieve stress for me it causes it. So if you are signing up for a membership so you can use the 30 minute workout room you will have interruptions often. I say that after working out at multiple PFs. Due to my travel I have worked out at both gyms in Daytona, both gyms in Ocala and one gym in Oswego NY and as stated above I have seldom been able to complete the 30 minute workout with out interruptions by members using the machines for other than the 30 minute work out. read more

After checking in a couple times the staff member informed me that I could only use that gym 10 times then I would be charged $5 per visit! Isn't this the whole purpose of black card? Agree with the reviewer who discusses how outdated the gym is. Rather old equipment, limited space, and a dingy locker room combine to make this a pretty nasty location. Add in the time from I-75 and the limited hours and you have a gym that is worth going to in a pinch only. One redeeming quality is the friendly staff, which saves this from a one star review. read more

I worked there for a year as a fitness instructor, and would not recommend it as an employment option. One, they did not give me any kind of advance notice when they fired me, and they blatantly lied about me failing a mystery shopper call, which was the reason why I was allegedly fired. (despite the fact that I was the only trainer and the customers loved me.) I asked for a raise, and a week later was fired. So getting a raise is virtually impossible. Also, you are expected to be a janitor when you aren't training people. I basically did everything except the manager's role, and yet only got paid 10 an hour. Nice place ! Well maintained ! Clean! Staff was great! The treadmills are a bit dated. However, some of the treads have been replaced. I'd get yourself a treadmill with a newer tread. The set up of the equipment is a bit unusual. I also wish they had a regular flat bench. Overall, good place for a workout! read more

To save someone else some trouble I definitely wouldn't recommend that anyone join this gym. Usually when I go to work out half of the equipment is broken; which is ridiculous considering each member is charged an "insurance fee" that is supposed to pay to have equipment repaired and up to date, the tanning bed barely worked, and the management staff are useless. They charge you ridiculous fees and when you go to cancel your membership they give you the run around and yet again charge you additional fees. This is by far the worst gym membership experience I have had yet. read more

I was a member of this place back in 2011 til 2014. The staff was awesome and always entertaining. They had free 5 star pizza once a week (I think it was Thurs.). I am looking to join a gym again and I am going to be joining Planet Fitness. I wish they had a pool but on the other hand I already know I will like this place. I travel a lot with work, and am a black card member. This is without question the worst pf I have ever been to. Outdated I could deal with if it meant there was enough equipment for everyone to use. Not enough equipment would be fine if there was enough space for everyone to use it. Even if the layout made any sense at all I could adjust. Its like a wholesale truck of used gym equipment kept coming to deliver to a broom closet and they were told each time 'just put it anywhere'! The staff is very nice I will say.. The redeeming quality. I am keeping my membership but for the two months I'm here its worth it to me to pay another gym so I don't have to come here again. Treadmills make loud banging/chattering noise when you run on them. I know older equipment often does that (seen it at other gyms). Besides that seems ok. $10.00 for a guest. Coupons that say free guest pass do not work for people who aren't members. Apparently must be accompanied by a member I was told when I tried to use it, but for only $10.00, who cares :-) Closes really early on holidays (at 7 PM) too :-/ read more

I also bring my daughter with me because I am a black card member, however went to get new card for my key chain, mine had worn out, and they wouldn't replace it! I bought a membership with this horrible company during a promotion where I got their "Black Card" for $10 a month for the life of my membership and I had to pay a service fee of $45 every October. Well that turned out to be a complete fraud. I only got 3 months at $10 and then the price jumped to $21.99 a month. The gym itself looks okay on the surface but once you get a better look it is disgusting. Most of the equipment is broke or doesn't function properly and the equipment is filthy. There's a buildup of human sweat and filth on all the machines, there is a black ring of body oils and sweat caked up on every seat and handles. it looks like you could catch a Staph infection from them. The hydro massage tables smell like a wet dog and and the when I wiped them off with their cleaner and a paper towel a black and brown film came off of them. The staff is totally worthless and they do absolutely nothing but stand at the front desk and eat tootsie rolls. As for getting any kind of help from them you can forget about that altogether and when I reported to them several pieces is equipment were broken and someone will get hurt using them they replied with an extremely defensive attitude, like how dare I talk to them about something important and potentially injury causing. I have had their ridiculous "lunk alarm" pressed on me 3 times for breathing heavily while I was completing my workout. There is only one staff member there that's actually good but I can't remember her name. The equipment itself is extremely outdated and broken most of the time. There aren't enough machines for the patrons but for some reason they have about 20 treadmills which there are never more than 10 people ever using them at any given time. The floors look as if they have never been swept or cleaned ever so doing any type of stretching will just get you covered in dirt. The staff is 100% to blame for most of the problems not to mention their disgusting attitudes and their fake friendliness is repulsive. They have no clue about getting in shape or even something as simple as how to use some of the antiquated equipment. This gym is the worst gym I have ever been in. They made me feel like a piece of trash because I like to workout hard, and I'm not some idiot who screams and goes insane like how most athletes do. At leastI can walk away from here with a lesson learned, you get what you pay for except at Planet Fitness where you get much much less than you pay for. Avoid this gym at all cost, unless you like getting MRSA and being judged for pushing yourself to become better physically. read more

This place is seriously outdated and does not hold up to what I know Planet Fitness to be. I am accustomed to a planet fitness with amenities such as state of the art tanning beds and massage chairs in semi private rooms with televisions on the wall for my personal use. Here, you have two massage chairs next to a window with the hot sun beating in on you while people walk around you to grab spray bottles. One of the chairs has the leg massage broken as well which I've mentioned numerous times and nothing has been done about it. As for the tanning beds, there are three very small stand-up units that resemble the ones that could have been found in your local salon in the early 90s. Other Planet Fitness's are stocked with numerous new units ranging in all levels. As for the equipment, the only truly good machines are in the circuit room and there is always a machine or two with deteriorating grips that never seem to get replaced. There also is only one crossover machine and I am sorely missing the dual adjustable cable smaller version that has been a staple in every gym I've belonged to for the last 25 years. There is also a miniscule amount of plated weights for the benches, hardly any attachments for the other machines and absolutely no rack of pre-weighted barbells. I have never been to a gym without this, ever. I am also missing the triceps push down machine that is usually in every other gym. This place has seemed to really cut corners and there is nobody to submit a suggestion to. I have been told by several employees that the owners are absent from the business so they don't know who to possibly suggest anything to and most agree the equipment is getting worn out. On a positive note, the place is clean, the staff is friendly, most everything is good. it just seriously needs a makeover and some essential additions to the equipment. I'll bet if they updated this location to what the planet fitness I know and love is, they could double their membership even considering the area they are located. read more
