Planet Fitness (Victor, NY) loves to brag about being a "Judgment Free Zone," but apparently that only applies if you think exactly the way they want you to. Walked in to work out and noticed Fox News wasn't on any of their many TVs. When asked, staff flat-out said they're "not allowed" to put it on. So let me get this straight -- dozens of televisions, nonstop sports, random reality nonsense, and selectively approved news channels, but one mainstream news network is banned? That's not "judgment free," that's controlled and biased. I'm here to lift weights, not be quietly told what viewpoints are acceptable. If Planet Fitness wants to act like a politically filtered bubble instead of a gym, they should be honest about it. Plenty of other gyms manage to treat adults like adults and let them choose what they watch. Do better -- or at least stop pretending this place is neutral! So...my husband and I as well as our children and their families will no longer be members. read more

As a frequent visitor to this gym I have never had a bad experience . This past Saturday a crowded one while on a treadmill a member came to use the machine next to me . This person came directly from the street with a full large back pack to the equipment and used it with pack on . I get it if it was for a harder workout but I was concerned and uncomfortable enough to leave gym. For obvious reasons there should be restrictions to this type of thing. read more

Planet Fitness Aviation Mall. When I become inspired to try to get into shape I do my research and always come to the same conclusion that Planet Fitness is my best option. The place is clean, relatively quiet, TV's. Equipment to isolate every body part. The price is perfect because I only exercise for 1-2 months before I say I've had enough of it.and then they refund the balance of my one year membership. As of last week, the Aviation Mall PF cut the news stations shared with its customers from Fox, CNN and ABC to Fox, Fox & Fox. This completely contradicts its promise to make "anyone -- and we mean anyone -- can feel they belong." Last year, Fox News had to pay $750,000,000 for knowingly pushing lies about the 2020 election, and most reasonable people consider it the opposite of news. Additionally, many customers believe PF recently received a payment from Fox News to give it exclusivity to ALL of its clubs. Fox News never bothered me during the 3 years that I've been a member here, because there was always an alternative. However, since the club decided last week to eliminate any non-Fox options, I've spoken to club staff on multiple occasions about the change, and asked if it will be fixed. I've heard everything from silly excuses to total lies, and as of yesterday the club had shut down the two 2 TVs at each end, so that it doesn't look as obvious that they're pushing pro-MAGA propaganda. (The other TVs now show only infomercials and HGTV) This Planet Fitness is now a hostile workout environment for anyone who isn't MAGA-brainwashed. For that reason, I'm cancelling my membership this week, and I encourage any customers who are bothered by this to do the same (at least one friend is also leaving). Clearly, PF doesn't care that it's alienating customers by forcing them to watch Fox News, so I have no interest in giving them any more of my money. read more

Love it here. Everything is pretty much new. The staff is great, always welcoming. Machines are clean. Tanning bed bulbs are new. Only annoying thing is patrons spraying atrocious perfume in the locker room. I wish PF would ban spraying stuff in there bc it's so bad I've almost passed out before. But it's not the gyms fault, it's the people. read more

The Staff are outstanding, courteous, always greeting on a first name basis. Quick to assist in all activities. The gym is kept clean and repairs are made in a timely manner. Very nice facility. Lots of equipment and a good size inside Aviation Mall. When it's busy, it does start to get a little crowded inside but you just gotta plan a better time to go. Staff is always very friendly and is willing to help any new gym-goer. The staff is always cleaning the machines and making sure everything is in perfect condition. I joined back in December and got the black card membership for 24.99$ a month totally worth it . I am able to work out, tanning .and the hydro massage omg the best it's worth the price plus you can bring a guest anytime. The staff professional and the very clean . Every morning I walk in cleaning is done all day . I've never had a issue . I even recommended my family to join so far my mom and dad who Are in there 70s and sister . Avoid this place like the plague. Pure hypocrisy. Its not a real gym. No heavy weights or benching, limited free weights, they encourage poor eating habits and even though they claim to be "the judgement free zone" they judge all serious body builders and fitness buffs with their ridiculous clothing restrictions and juvenile "Lunk" alarms if you make any noises lifting, wear a tank top, or drop a weight. The irony here is that for a place that claims to be so non judgmental, they do a hell of a lot of judging. In short, if you want to feel better about yourself because you go to a gym, but not really put in the effort to gain any muscle mass, or lose body fat, witness personal trainers who are in even worse shape than yourself, then planet fitness is the gym for you. read more

I used Aviation Mall Rd, Queenury NY location in summer 2016 as a guest. Staff was really rude especially one of the woman at front desk. I never cared cuz I was only using for few days. This year I had to use the same gym again cuz I come on family vacation every year at Lake George and stay at William Henry resort that offer discounted guest passes for planet fitness to their customers. I went to Queenbury Planet Fitness with my pass again today and woman at front desk forced me to register with all my personal information including DOB and email I w as hesitant first cuz I know these are marketing gimmicks to get my info so they can send me junk mail. But looks like I had no choice so I told them to register me . After registration process she asked me to sign liability waiver saying, " please sign here to acknowledge that you will be working out at your own risk " I was shocked. I asked what do u mean you have no insurance what if your ceiling dropps or an instrument falls on me that means I am own my on. These staff ladies could not give me any credible answer so I had to walk out without using the gym. Moral of the story, please check their insurance and liability policy before using the gym. And please make sure u need to speak with someone who is well trained, looks like staff at this location is neither well trained on Knowledge nor on how to speak and treat customers respectfully , especially, who are temporary user. Really Sad. I am never going back to anyn planet fitness location as we all have options. Now I looked at yelp review and anytime fitness is the best gym around. I am using that. read more

Planet fitness is a franchise, as long as the franchise gets the payments from each franchise owner...they really do not care about anything beyond that in corporate headquarters. My boyfriend cancelled his memberships, in person. Yet they didn't stop the attempt to slam his bank account for continued fees. He moved out of the area and was changing everything to be more local for his new location, this included the bank account. He never got a notice or email about the attempt and fail of fees to be taken - why would he, the membership was cancelled. Now he is in Clifton Park and tries to sign up a new membership....they tell him he owes over $100 in fees from Queensbury, but they'll wave half for him and he has to settle the balance and start up with the current sign up fees in addition. Insane. I called queensbury and explained the issue, girl on the line claimed the manager was busy but that she sees the problem and was "sure it could be cleared by the manager". Took my number and said I would get a call back...never happened. I called again, insisted on talking to a manager and then he claims that the person I talked to must have been mistaken as there is no cancellation on file but he is willing to bring fees down to 1/2 of what is owed and he can sign up like normal. I keep explaining that there shouldn't be anything owed...he said that was the best he could do. I asked for the corporate number....he gave me a number and it turned out to be the franchise owner who made me explain everything and then saying...have your boyfriend call me. I called corporate headquarters on the franchise and they could care less. I'm cancelling my current membership with this company in clifton park. Not comfortable with the way they handle things while having my account numbers. read more

Plenty of cardio equipment and weight machines. Generally not too busy.staff keeps place clean well worth the cost if you are serious about getting in shape. I generally go 5 days a week. If you have a black card you can use it at any planet fitness in the country up to 10 visits a month as a remote guest. read more

Regional manager customer service is terrible! Dan Harms is extremely confrontational, pious and rude, extremely rude! I called asking how to go about canceling a membership that I thought was already canceled. He started rambling off something so I asked him to slow down and restate what he just said. He began yelling at me telling me I was talking too fast not him. I told him an email was sent out a year ago and instead of him giving me an answer as to how to fix it, he told me that I was basically delusional and making it up, playing the middle man and the email was probably never sent. I do have the email. Then as I asked for a way to contact someone to fix this he talked with people at the store and ignored my questions. He then answered by repeatedly rambling his email 2/3 times to me. Not sure how anything will be solved by him through email if he didn't even have the decency to answer on the phone. The sad thing is this could have been handled very politely and professionally as my problem wasn't with anyone at that location. I just needed information. Instead I received extreme disrespect, and a confrontational pious attitude from Dan Harms. He must of been having a very bad morning. Side note the young man who originally answered the phone was very polite, helpful and pleasant. Too bad when people get a title after their name it goes right to their head... Dan Harms is a poor example of a leader. read more

Screw Planet Fitness. Their business practices are akin to a loan sharks. I signed a contract once a few years ago. Unfortunately, things wildly and unexpectedly changed in my life in the days following this, and I had to move quite a distance from the gym. This made it impracticable to use it anymore. I hadn't even picked up my pass yet, much less used the gym, and they flat at refused to let me out of the contract. I paid a years worth of dues and never stepped foot in the place. Whatsmore, when the 12 months was up, not only did they continue to take monthly dues, I had to physically drive there to get them to cancel the account. They wouldn't do it over the phone. I will NEVER give this unethical business my money ever again. read more

Reading the 1-star review for this location made me immediately feel it was a "planted" review by another gym owner. I have extensive experience with health clubs around the world and this club represents unbelievable value in a well-maintained setting. The weight machines are being continuously cleaned by both members and staff and are in great condition. For those that have actually been here there are cleaning spray bottles and paper towels everywhere and I have never been in another club where cleaning machines after use is so ingrained in club culture. The machines and cardio equipment are definitely not in shoddy condition, just look at the club pics - maybe another owner can't compete with the $10 month price, TVs on all the treadmills, free pizza and bagels, etc. read more

This is an excellent, extremely clean gym. I have been going while in the area for a few weeks and it easily compares to my gym at home which costs 15X as much per month. Endless rows of quality cardio equipment. Great machines and far more free weights than I expected for a "judgement free zone". I have worked out in gyms across the country do to work travel and for the money, this gym cannot be beat! read more

My "home gym" is Wilton. I was up in GF area for a bit and decided to tan and workout. DISGUSTING. I walked into the booth (after the girl at the front desk told me there wasn't a weight for a particular booth) and it wasn't sanitized at all! I did it myself! There were 3 people standing behind the counter laughing. DO YOUR JOB! There were sweat puddles all over the booth AND when I cleaned it up there isn't a garbage can in the room. Then we get to the machines. Sub - par at best. They are a fairly new location so I expected the cardio equipment to to be so shoddy. I pay $20/mo so I you basically get what you pay for but honestly, I get more for my money I guess at Saratoga. They are clean. I plan on letting a manager know about the tanning bed. That just is sickening. I have already put in a suggestion to open a site in Malta, but for now will take the 10 minute drive to Toga. PF I hope to God you read this and talk to your employees about cleanliness...and keeping garbage pails in each tanning room! read more

this place is GROSS.... I actually got a skin rash from the machines. I have been going to the doctor for weeks, and after weeks of paying them and the prescription cream, I asked them at planet fitness very nicely to let me cancel my membership until I feel better. I was told be AN absolute rude, uncaring Lady at the fitness place- NO. UMMM excuse me, you gave me this rash, and dont apologize, and now you cant seem to at least be human? I then spoke to her manager and he was more of a jerk than she was, I see where it comes from. He was very curt, and matter of fact, like we need our 20 dollars a month, so to bad.
