You are charged on the 5th of every month, so naturally you would think that as long as you cancel your membership before then - you aren't forced to pay for a month. Even if that is the case, you'd think it would be possible to get a refund for the month you aren't going to use. This is not the case. They stand by the "fine print" in their contracts which most people probably don't read (it is a gym membership, we are not purchasing property here). The manager told me that they deal with this issue (angry people requesting refunds, bank disputes, etc.) every month, and they blame the customers - not their policy. What's worse is - in my case - I attempted to cancel the membership in person before the end of the month, my number was taken down, and I was told I would receive a call from the manager when he was back. I did not receive a call, so I called back on the 2nd of the following month. The manager was still not in, so they took my information down again and finally I received a call on the 3rd to cancel the membership. I was not told that I would still be charged, and that I wouldn't receive a refund. I'm now having to deal with my bank to dispute the charge for services I canceled and will not be using, and I was essentially called a liar when I brought up the fact that I attempted to cancel the membership at the end of the month.

The coach of the night focused on technique and was helpful with any questions. If you haven't done crossfit before, each day is a different set of workouts. The workout of the day was broken up into three different skill levels: I chose the easiest, but you can modify it up or down as you wish! I was definitely feeling the workout the next day. At the end of the workout, we did a little cheer. Throughout the year, they do different optional competitions and team building events. The community aspect is super important when choosing a gym! Besides the fitness aspect, there is a strong sense of community. I have never felt ostracized or out of place because I am not in as awesome shape as another member or because I am slower than others or for whatever reason. My confidence is boosted every time I walk in the door because I know I will get the motivation I need to meet the goals that I want to obtain.

It is almost impossible to speak to someone when you have questions. When you do finally get someone, it's often someone who does not know the answer. The responses to legitimate questions are often snarky and unhelpful. The staff is mostly teenagers who are unable to answer basic questions. Most are attentive to the students. Some are more interested in talking to each other while letting the children run wild without any instruction, but most of them are attentive. The cost seems pricey, but they are comparable to others. As they and RGA are the only games in town, options are limited.
