Still not much has changed. I come here for a week at a time every other month or so and nothing changes. It is your basic we built it and never upgraded. Things are broken, it is very drafty, and a few of the machines don't work. If you need a down and dirty workout and your limited in options I guess you can get one here. read more

Very rude, very arrogant, and very unprofessional manager. No wonder so many hate this gym.

Just recently joined PF within the last couple weeks, all was well even though it seems they are going through a redesign. I try to show up on Monday my usual time at 5 to find no one was there. No sign on the door, keep in mind I was just there Saturday. It's been closed and I assume it's for redesign but woulda been nice for a heads up at the very least . I attempted to call the gym and it went straight to voicemail. Would like to know when the gym in Rotterdam will open again read more

The place is clean, the staff is ok can be a little rude at times. And the manager is not very friendly an has an attitude. I canceled my membership due to the manager getting nasty with me in front of other customers. He said I was intimidating other customers. I was not grunting or throwing weights so I did not know what the problem was. Join a better gym.. read more

My wife had a membership with Rotterdam NY Planet Fitness. She went into the gym and staff was rude, told they couldn't cancel her membership, she had to do it in writing. She sent cancelation in writing several times but still they still charged bank account (7 months) and charged $39 a couple times. Finally put a stop payment with bank. Somehow Planet fitness got my bank card number and charged as AB Planet Fitness, I was never on the account. Still Manager refusing to reverse payments. Had to cancel card and file fraud charges with bank. Currently filing complaint with Better Business Bureau. Nothing like a "FRIENDLY" neighborhood gym. read more

I called to cancel my membership six months ago and was told to do it online. I went online and cancelled, or so I thought. Since then I have been charged monthly. I called my local gym to get a refund and they did nothing for me. They said they haven't accepted online cancellations for a long time. I explained that I was told to cancel online, but they still wouldn't give me a refund. Not very happy with this lack of service. The employee who gave the wrong information cost me over $100. Poorly managed club with TERRIBLE communication. Drove nearly an hour to get to the gym today and it's CLOSED. NO information was sent to the membership despite having our phone numbers and emails. NO information is on the website. NO information is on the the outgoing message when you call. Nada. Is this gym being managed at all? I wonder when it will re-open? Don't count on finding out! And dear "PF Business Manager" perhaps you should read these reviews again, all the way through. I have been with planet fitness for 2 years. I have thier best membership. Today I went in to this location and was told by Christina that the only way to bring a guest is too download the app. This was never updated anywhere. I ended up getting my membership cancelled by this same person, Christina. I won't be returning until they have a respectful staff. read more

This is a no frills gym, but for the price I feel you get your money's worth. Facility is clean, staff are friendly and helpful, I have never had a bad experience there. read more

The Staff here is always wonderful and attentive. Great selection of equipment, and the Black Card is totally worth it for the discount on drinks alone. I've been here when it's super busy, and also when I thought I was the only one there. Great gym for the price. Sometimes the other members get a little animated, but that's unavoidable I suppose. I do wish they had a better TV selection. I don't think anyone is watching the CNN TV's, but they do show a few good channels and there is always some sports to watch. I've been a Rotterdam Planet Fitness member for the past 4 years ( 2 years with the $10 membership and almost 2 years as a Black Card member. Lately, for some reason, the new staff has been rude to me for ridiculous reasons. I am saying "new" because I never seen them before. Today, (Cristal or Cristine), was very polite at first when I walked in but 15 minutes into my work out, she came upstairs and told me, in a very rude way, that I needed to "either put my sweater on or leave it in the locker room". She said is the rule. A rule I did not know but, a rule I understand. My problem is the rudeness in which she said it. She embarrassed me in front of other members that were also working out. I had to take a breath, from my work out first, and then I went down stairs looking for the manager, since this was the second time! a staff member from this gym was rude to me. This young girl (Cristal or Cristine) told me that the manager wasn't there. Not only that but we got into an argument in which she admitted to me that the reason she was rude was because "I ignored her" at first when she was trying to tell me to put on my sweater but she ignored the fact that I was wearing headphones! and was listening to loud music while working out. I could NOT hear her while behind me. So she got angry and approached me with an attitude. It is also amazing that when I made my dissatisfaction with her rudeness very clear, her response was " It is what it is" and "you rolled you eyes at me". The rolling of my eyes was AFTER she was rude to me and it was because this was the second time for me in this place to be treaded like this. It is a shame that one employee can ruin the reputation that I am sure took hard work to build over the years this gym has been in operation in Rotterdam. I really wish this had'n happened so I would not be force to go to another gym. Unfortunately my next step is to cancel and move on to another gym but this time, I will check all the reviews before signing in. Please comment if you are a member of this same gym. They have updated and are taking care of the equipment. It seemed this location was the last in being upgraded and is now like the other planet fitnesses. The people in the front are pretty courteous especially the manager of the place. read more

They have removed many of the free weight machines and benches. I was told they were eventually getting rid of all the dumbbells too!! A few of the cable machines have also been broken for a couple of weeks. It's a shame, I really used to love going to Planet Fitness, but now it is just basically a cardio gym with cable machines. read more

Friendly staff, clean location, clean gym, lots of options, many machines, tanning beds clean and so are the fabulous massage chairs

I'm visiting the area and not my regular planet fitness place. I ask them if I can use the facility since I'm only here for short period of time. The desk told me that I have to pay 5 dollars per each use of the facility since it's new. Amazing!!! read more

This gym clearly has a problem with people stealing. I have been a member at this gym over five years and even updated to the black card membership since the hours are convenient. I had my personal belongings stolen on three different occasions at this gym. I never had this problem at the Colonie or Glenville location. When you report the thief to the front desk is as if they don't care. My North face Jacket was stolen a few days ago. apparently people will watch your items and steal them. I feel like the Gym should put up a sign that say they have cameras or a sign near the key hangs and the looker room saying place your items at you own risk. apparently they have cameras but wont review the video when your robbed. I have been a member for a couple years. The staff mostly changes every few months. The hours are very good. Being open later than 7pm on Fridays Saturdays and Sundays would be nice. 24 hours the rest of the week. The place is always clean and in good working order. It has more equipment than I would ever need. I am completely satisfied with my 10 dollar a month gym membership. Great value. read more

i have been working out for about 3 years in pf , i decided to leave the gym after been harassed by the staff several times , even by the clientele , it`s like there are no rules except for grunting or throwing the weights on the floor , but i have been called all kind of names by clients for being a foreigner , the regional manager (leon) is a cool guy but he needs to choose the right people , friendly staff ,also it`s not just about the cardio , i go to the gym to lift weights only , i really don't understand why pf does not care about the free weights and the machines ???? especially for the calves , it is a sin to lift weights and build muscles ? i thought leon was a bodybuilder in the past ?? i rated this as just one star because i didnt have fun when i was working out for 3 years , the gym lacks the necessary equipment to build a body. read more

Great gym but needs saunas instead of tanning boots... Vent and best fitness have saunas and I'm guessing it's because they are aimed to help loose water weight tanning can only be used by a select few and all members can't make use of it! read more

Worst company I have ever dealt with. Told me to cancel by a certain date in person, pulled up my profile and explained the process. I came in and cancelled when I was told but then a $39 annual fee shows up in my bank account because I didn't cancel before a different date I was never told. I called Rotterdam and Corporate, both said they should have explained it better but still not refunding. Be warned, they just want your money and do not care about their customers.
