I apologized saying I've been here years and I've never have been told otherwise she then proceeded to tell me that this wasn't the first time that I did it in a very rude fashion. I had only seen the woman once before. I attempted to walk away, then turned around and told her that telling me that this wasn't the first time I had done this was in extremely poor taste and was very rude. For some people with chronic health issues getting to the gym is difficult. I was going everyday. Her embarrassing me in front of everyone hit me hard. You never know what someone is going through. tried to cancel my membership from my phone months ago, then was charged and an annual fee after I was already charged for the month. I went to explain I was told I would get a refund only to be charged a second annual fee. When I tried to call and to them that I wanted my refund after a long call. I was told that it would be handled. I still haven't gotten my refund. My advice get better gym. read more

I asked to use the tanning beds after my work out. I was having problems with my app so Tobey tried to use a few codes to help me. He wasn't successful and gave up. I asked to speak to a manager. He said the manager was there but it was likely he would not help me either. Tobey went into the system "to see that I was late on payment." I was allowed to use the gym but not the perks of a black card member? I corrected my payment mishap last week on the 14th so that was not a valid excuse. Tobey, then said, I would need to transfer my home store to the Worcester location in order to use the Black Card membership perks because I was out of network - a franchise technicality. I called my home store - Belchertown. I told Emilio all of this. He said Tobey is trying to meet a sales quota to get me transferred to his store. If Tobey had taken the time to help me into a tanning bed, I would've considered transferring home stores. But he didn't. He also told me some bogus nonsense about how his manager wouldn't help either to fulfill my request. Tobey displayed neglect, carelessness, and laziness. He only cares about a sales quota and did not show any remorse about how he treated me as a paying consumer. Emilio also mentioned that when you're at a store out of network, you're able to utilize the perks of a black card membership no more than 10x a month. Earlier this week, I was at the Sturbridge location. I experienced the same billing issue. I paid the bill, got it up to date, and that store allowed me to utilize a tanning bed with a special code so I know the act could've been completed. read more

You'd likely avoid this place after reading most of the reviews but I've been pleasantly surprised that i haven't experienced much of anything said here... I mainly signed up for the PF Black card so I could go tanning since I was already driving across the city and paying twice as much to do so. I already workout at home but there are some machines like the stair climbers that I don't have and are nice to use when I do go in. So far the staff at the front desk has been very attentive and friendly and they always have one staff member roaming the floor with a cleaning station to change out paper towels and spray bottles. The locker rooms are clean and while I haven't used the showers there, those look clean too. The tanning is great, way better than what I am used to. They have beds and booths and it's always clean. The booths are very spacious and I like that each room is enclosed from floor to ceiling instead of a cubicle like setup. It feel safe and secure. Have I witnessed people on their phones, of course. Have I seen people not wiping down machines when they're done using.... Yup. Have I looked down and seen dried sweat on the treadmill, sure. Here's the thing, it's a gym. I worked at one for years and even with constant cleaning you're going to find some dried up sweat here and there. The gym is no different than the world outside of it; people are going to be discourteous, gross and lazy. The best thing you can do is move on and make sure you are wiping down a machine BEFORE and after you use it. Someone on their phone and sitting at a machine you want to use? Wait a couple minutes, make sure they aren't in between sets, and then, wild suggestion, why not just ask "hey can I jump on here when you're finished?" Most of the time it's as simple and as easy as communicating to someone who isn't aware of their surroundings. For the most part, as I "people watch" from my stair climber perch, everyone seems friendly towards one another and move between stations and machines with a respectful demeanor Overall I'm glad that I grabbed a membership because I'm saving $$ on my tanning and now I can sneak out of the house a few times a week abs use some machines that I otherwise don't have at home read more

Got accused of being a creep, lurking around a woman taking videos. A ridiculous misunderstanding that could have easily been resolved, but the desk staff had already made up their minds and didn't want to hear anything from me. So I insisted they call the police. B4 the police arrived staff realized I didn't have a phone on me. My accusers decided to leave b4 the police got there. Embarrassed staff doubled down to save face. But the police sided with me. The place is of great value for the price. Machines are clean and the staff is friendly when attentive. I would have given it 5 stars but often there are employees on their cell phones at the front desk not aware that customers are there. This will happen if you would like to use a back massage chair or tanning both. All in all, this place is a good gym and I would recommend it. read more

I've gone to this gym on a daily for the last year and a half. I've gone every hour of the day and night from anywhere from 4 am to 10 pm during the weekdays. The busiest times I'd have to say are usually 4:30 pm to 8 pm. It's usually steady throughout the other times, 4 am - 5 am, and 10 pm has been completely dead, maybe 2 people at most. So if you want to avoid the rush I'd go the times mentioned. I don't use much of the free weights so I can't really speak for it if you're a weight lifter but if you're the type to do cardio or not the crazy fitness freak than this gym has plenty of everything you need from ellipticals, treadmills, rowing bikes, stair master, etc and the typical weight machines. Gym hours are pretty convenient, 24 hours a day Monday through Thursday but close early on Fridays at 9 pm and Saturday/Sunday's 7 am to 7 pm. There's always at least one staff member working, most of them are friendly. I personally think it's pretty clean, I've seen staff members go around dusting machines however I can't speak for showers as I've never used them. read more

First time at the Worcester location visiting family. Nice staff, like the other locations. Except it's really messy, my girlfriend said the ladies rooms were discusting, the men's bathroom looked like it wasn't taken care of from after the morning rush. At 9pm the place was dirty, paper towels not filled and saw allot of people not clean up equipment after and / or before use. The other locations are much cleaner, locker rooms cleaned a few times a day and staff makes sure to remind everyone of workout etiquette. Apparently I'm not the only reviewer to suggest this location should clean the facility more often. Hope they listen , my girlfriend and I will be skipping this location next time. read more

So glad Planet Fitness in Worcester 68 Stafford Street is re opened. They are do a Great job with marked off social distancing and equipment spaced out. However , there is NO, ABSOLUTELY NO enforcement of MASK's being worn inside the gym, The POSTED signs say "MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES" ,,,,NOT EVEN CLOSE....most come in walk by the desk and take them OFF......what's the point then ......Pants are required, or is that just a SUGGESTION also ????? I've been a member at this gym for about 3.5 years. The staff at the desk always say hello but some staff are more genuine in their friendly hello than others. Some reviews said this gym isn't clean but I often see staff members cleaning the machines. Here's a tip to other reviewers: always clean your own machine before and after a workout. I don't utilize the tanning beds or even the locker rooms so I can't speak on those but I have always enjoyed my time on the cardio machines. One of the worst Planet Fitness locations I have visited, the Worcester branch often has no hot water in the showers, and the employees are not inclined to do anything about it (including the manager). The layout of the gym leaves much to be desired, with a narrow strip of free weights separated from an oddly shaped weight machine area by the cardio section. The Black Card spa is also small and has little natural light, feeling very closet-like. read more

I don't normally go out of my way to leave a review but here we go. I met my gf at Worcester planet fitness On my way home from work figured was a half way point for both of us big mistake. The treadmill had dried sweat all over it the trash cans over flowing I approached a staff member about the treadmill her response was the cleaner is right there feel free to clean it ummm really how disgusting, the men's locker room same thing trash all over the place the toilets were full of pubic hair. Never have I been so disappointed by a gym like that didn't even get a full workout I was to disgusted. Absolutely gross. read more

For $10 per month you get what you pay for. They have plenty of cardio and strength training machines, which always seemed to be working fine, and weights. There are a very limited number of tv stations you can watch. No yoga/pilates/zumba or anything like that. It can get crowded during certain times of day. I left because I find running on a treadmill and lifting weights extremely unfulfilling, I like fitness to be a little fun, and I don't find the atmosphere there to be motivating at all. It really annoyed me that they made me go into the facility to cancel my membership rather than allowing me to cancel over the phone. I ended up paying for a few extra months because I was too busy or kept forgetting to go there, and since it was only $10 it wasn't a huge priority to cancel. It seems like a policy designed to get extra money out of people by making quitting more inconvenient. read more

Horrible customer service! I've been calling for weeks trying to track down the manager. They've been charging me a $10 late fee on top of my monthly (31.99) and when I called after receiving the first one, I was told they could charge another card so I didn't pay any mind. Fast forward 4 months, they won't do anything about the late fees and the assistant manager Melissa or whatever and the attendant were just unwilling to help. Offering $10 off after they've charged me $50 in late fees already! Not to mention there's an annual fee that they're trying to charge to my card. They won't cancel your subscription if you mail in the letter for cancellation. Then they will tell you they can't do anything and send you to the cooperate phone line, which will hang up on you if you select any of the options. They know what they are doing, and its despicable. read more

Worc Location is usually fine, however in the last few months the amount of machines and equipment broken or out of service has increased. May be due to a membership influx and newbies not knowing how to use the equipment or be familiar with gym etiquette. Also the Personal trainer group/groups early in the AM seem to appropriate most of the dumbbells to accommodate "their class" leaving the the general population scrambling and trying to improvise. Perhaps they should be allotted their own "personal group" dumbbells....... just a suggestion read more

Planet fitness is one of my favorite daily events. It is very unfortunate my wife told me it was very dirty in the ladies shower room and the water didn't drain. This location needs to clean up! She never complains so I imagine it's pretty much neglected. I would be happy to notify the staff versus writing a complaint in a public forum but cleanliness is not something to be overlooked. Cleaning isn't optional. It is key when you are most vulnerable in a shower not to be subject to unsanitary conditions. This has to be addressed and maintained. There is absolutely no excuse for filth! I hate to give this report but you should know better!! read more

Not a fan at all, I signed up before i knew what planet fitness actually was........a gym with very limited weights, no squat rack, and no dumbells over 75lbs. And judgement free zone? maybe if youre out of shape, but it seems to me that having an alarm for people you call "lunks" may be the very definition of being judgemental. I was a member for two years. I hardly ever went. I quit to join a different gym that offers a variety of exercise classes, which is what I need. One of my complaints at this Planet Fitness location is that the employees don't do anything to enforce basic rules. People sit there on the machines texting on their phones. People leave machines without wiping them. Now, there are a lot of guys from the nearby "hood" at the Worcester gym, so I don't know if this intimidates the staff. However, that really takes the positives out of the experience if the staff won't enforce the rules. read more

Its hard to expand on whats already been said. This is a PF, its nothing special in terms of gyms, no spin classes, no free weight section to speak off. The Worcester locale delivers what it promises, for a great price. You see all kinds of people there, not really an issue. Everyone just does their thing and sticks to their groups, never seen conflict or an issue. One star off for non application of the rules. You go in and literally in 5 different places its posted "no cell phones, lobby only" and there is normally someone leaning against the sign talking on their cell phone. It can be distracting if your on a treadmill watching a show and walking but otherwise its not prohibitive. Still, why have a rule an post it over and over if you aren't going to enforce it? You might dissuade some but few take it seriously. The staff are nice enough, you cant beat the price. Edit 1/18/2017: having been going to this gym for years now I can say that overall it's still a really good value, the staff is good and the other gym members are for the most part okay. However there have been some notable declines, which are not one offs I don't amend reviews because of one bad night I have observed this over time. 1. It takes longer and longer for broken machines to get repaired. A few weeks ago there were literally 6 different machines unusable. While not the end of the world there always seems to be something down and at this gym in prime time all stations have to be up or you're waiting. 2. They have a new rule "no bags on the floor" I think it's a good rule but why put in more rules when you don't enforce the ones you have? People still get on their phones while you're doing cardo on the machines. I don't want to have to go to the desk and tell them, it's not my job. It's often the same people. I have been next to the same person 4 times in 2 months who was talking on their phone for 30min + (we seem to always use the same machines). I know "just move and stop whining" OKAY fine but how about we go with "you have a rule, people violate it, enforce the rule". It's just annoying. 3. No intimidation zone: Not in the men's locker room. There is a group of young men who attend regularly and not directly harass people but point, laugh, swear (calling each other the N word) and generally talking loudly. It's uncomfortable at times but not unbearable. Still WHY HAVE A RULE if you're not going to enforce it? I'm irritated by these items and suspect I won't be renewing. read more

I have been a member for little over a month, but had to cancel my membership on 4/4/2017 because the staff member who works the night shift was very rude to me, I tried to explain my point but get replying back in an arrogant way as if he owns the place. I loved the place, has nice machines, nice set up and convenient to me but when it comes to getting an attitude from a staff member I loose all interest in the place. Someone needs to look into that before more people start quitting if they get the same attitude from the staff member. read more

I have been a member of Planet fitness Webster square for a very long time. There is an overnight employee who works there who is so unprofessional, moody and rude. Apparently there is an issue with the heat being broken today 06.25.18 the heat is blowing about 90 degrees. He actually told members if they don't like it to go F--- themselves. He should not be working at Planet Fitness or anywhere!! He continues to pass out leaving the gym unattended. Many members are talking, we are all very upset with the decision to keep this individual at our gym!! Management has to review this, many members are fed up!! read more

You really get what you pay for at THIS Planet Fitness! My home club is in FL. and is not anything like this. Certain members feel entitled to monopolize equipment, which is scarce to begin with. There are only 4 "Smith machines" one not in service. During my past 3 visits, I waited in line, to no avail. The staff are little more that 'greeters'. I have complained 3 times about this, most recently to 'Mark E., the manager, who just laughed it off an said 'We're not that kind of club" What? you mean the kind of club that would encourage members to be respectful and courteous to other members waiting for equipment? No, this is NOT that kind of club. You are on your own and good luck trying to use anything but a treadmill during peak hours!They just had a 25 cent sale, signing up hundreds of new members.
