The gym been closed in Yuma Arizona on Dome Avenue. They says it's power and then say it's AC-HVAC. So how are the employees in there with no AC or Power. I went to Foothills and was to crowded. Didn't enjoy my workout. Gas prices are too high to be traveling to the Foothills. I chose PF cause it was closer to my house by Dome Avenue. This is poor business and angry customer. What brought me to this gym was the deal(s) they had going on for membership, the 24-hour availability on some days, plus the app was/is in fine working order, like posting if it was crowded at a certain time, etc. After I signed up online, I showed up at the gym and asked for a tour. The staff were both helpful and knowledgeable with a friendly vibe, the place clean ! And I love the variety of various workout stations. It's also very family-friendly, and the parking lot is huge! I think this is the cleanest gym in Yuma! The employees here are always nice, always welcoming and not on their cell phones like other places but are actually helpful and willing to show you around. I always see staff cleaning and not just a light dust but deep cleaning.. A few machines are showing signs of wear and tear but they are getting new stuff regularly so I'm sure they will be changed out soon..This is my favorite location, great place to work out.. love the big open space and tall ceilings.. feels spacious. The cleaning stations all work and are full, I love the Black Card area.. all in all it's a great gym! read more

The employees are nice. I've noticed a lot of the male snowbirds over the age of 50-55 will not clean machines at all, so watch out for that. Makes my skin crawl. Other than that chill gym. read more

I am a black card member who has been visiting this gym for several years since it first opened. I frequently travel to either Yuma or San Luis for business and for vacation and this is my go-to place for working out. I also use their facilities like the showers when I work across the border in Mexico and need to come to Yuma for a break. My experience at this Planet Fitness is consistenly good. I can't say that about every Planet Fitness I visit (my work takes me across the country). But this one is always clean, and the equipment is well-maintained. In the summer, this place is a lifesaver since it is impossible to workout in the daytime heat outside. I find the people at this Planet Fitness to be a higher quality than at some of the ones I have visited (especially in the LA area). What do I mean by that? I mean I know my sunglasses or cell phone won't disappear if I put them down for a moment, hahaha! Great people, great staff and great gym in Yuma. Recommended! read more

They have mostly everything you need to build a decent physique. However; they lack much in the free weight department. If they could boost their free weight rack and add some barbells, it would be a great place to workout. Another problem I have with this specific location is the fact that they are not open 24/7 as most other locations. I have been a member of this Planet Fitness for almost a month now since leaving 4th Ave Gym due to their remodeling. I favor the treadmill on any given day and I only joined because I can't run outdoors in the 100 degree weather. This gym just opened within the last couple of months. As you can see from the photos there are 16 TV's that show 8 different channels. Though the equipment is all new, no individual TV's on the equipment. Staff has occasionally change a channel to ESPN for my bf. They have this "no judgement" motto and have limited heavy weights. I assume to deter "meatheads". They also have this loud buzzer they sound when someone is committing an act of meatheadism. There seems to be a lot of staff standing around doing nothing. Only 1 staff person checks everyone in via your member number ( no barcode scanner). I like that monthly membership is only $10. I hate having to drive across town to go to the gym. I like the new equipment. I hate that it's a high school hangout. It's not the mall people! If you go between 4p - 8p Monday to Friday all those treadmills you see are taken. Another peeve of mine is that there are like 50 disinfectant sprays around the gym for you to clean off equipment with but ZERO hand sanitizers for members to use around the gym. BUT yet there's this one hand sanitizer pump located conveniently behind the staff's front desk. Hmmm... I make sure I try to give someone a little stink eye every time I go back there to use it. Hopefully Planet Fitness will catch up with the times and provide hand sanitizers around the gym so no one catches MRSA or something worse. *smiles* read more

As described in other people's comments, they make it very difficult to cancel your membership. We moved to Phoenix and i tried to cancel it in Phoenix. They said we must cancel it in the Yuma gym in person or by mail. I called the Yuma Gym and they said they don't accept a cancellation by phone, email or fax. It must be a certified letter. I mailed a letter but not certified. They never got it. If planet fitness management or customer service would like to respond to this, please send me a certified letter, or see me in person or other means: message carrying pigeons, pony express or smoke signals. We like coming to this location when are in Yuma during the winter months. The staff are friendly and they keep the place clean & the cleaning stations well stocked. Since the beginning of January 2019, we have found this location very crowded. It's very hard sometimes to get into some of the equipment, because it is also so crowded. My husband noticed it took over 3 months to get one of the sinks in the men's change room fixed. Also since the beginning of January there have been 11 treadmills that have been "temporarily out of order". I understand that Planet Fitness wants to have these membership drives. But the least they can do is make sure all the equipment is working to accommodate the increase in membership. read more

I pay $20 for the Black Card Membership, I can Bring a Guest (different every time), Unlimited Tanning, Red Ligh Therapy, Hydromassage, Massage Chair, Stand up Tanning, and there is plenty of machines to use! Meh it's okay definitely get what you pay for . It's nice being able to go whenever and being able to bring a guest each time but it does kinda suck how they don't have a bench or a squat rack . Also sucks that dumbbells only go up to 60 pounds . The best gym experience I've ever had. Clean locker room and showers, great machines, helpful and friendly staff. My absolutely only complaint is that they have Fox News spewing out from two of its sixteen overhead plasma screens (eight channels). And, no, CNN is not a counterweight to Fox News. They really need to take care it off before we get that much further into election season. But def five stars for this location. I really am not a big fan of working out, but Planet Fitness makes the gain worth the pain. Whether the weights circuit or getting a personalized workout program matched to goals and physical limitations, Planet Fitness has it available. For more low key moments, it has hydro (water) massage beds and a couple of massage chairs. It has stationary bikes (at least two varieties), treadmills, elliptical machines, step machines and a couple of other types of cardio options that I have yet to identity. I'll give it 2 stars because like everybody says, the staff is very friendly and the cleanliness is top notch, even during peak hours. That being said, it's more flash than substance. Two-thirds of the gym is cardio equipment, which would be fine if there was any actual weight lifting equipment. There's no barbells (just the machines with the built in supports) or power rack/squat rack, or deadlift platform. The dumbbells don't go past 60 lbs, which is an even bigger issue considering there isn't a bar anywhere in the gym. What kind of gym calls themselves a gym if you can't squat, bench, or deadlift?!? All in all, it's a nice place for beginners and for people who like to "play" gym, but if you're looking for some serious workouts, look elsewhere. read more

Good size gym, clean, friendly staff. Go early or late at night, past 10pm. Gym can get very crowded in the evenings or during hot days when everyone is inside. Bring your headphones if you want to watch TV which are not individual to your machine. Fair deal on memberships, massage and tanning. read more

I was a member at planet fitness but never again. One night I walked in to exercise and left with a permanently damaged back. I was running on the treadmill when it broke and stopped suddenly. I fell really hard and hurt my back neck and shoulder. The employee on shift laughed at me and didn't bother to check if I was hurt. I made a complaint to LIZ THE MANGER and 6 months later I still have not had one call to see if I am okay. They promised me help with medical bills and nothing. I made a complaint with corporate and nothing. I asked for corporates number and they said they don't have one to give me.This company does not care if you get hurt or even die on their equipment STAY AWAY!!! I'm Update: to this date I have not received anything I checked my email and my voicemail or mailed letters. No such contact has been made. If you really do care and want to help me then contact me. I was invited there as a guest to work out. I was undecided about a gym to join. 4th ave, world gym, Snap, and planet were my choices. Planet gets one star for space and another star for equipment. Other than that it was a ZOO. I literally saw kids hanging from the cables. The experience level of the users were very minimum. It was distracting. Additionally, the machines were being crowded by the users and they weren't even using them! They were standing there joking and texting. The staff for the most part looks like jr's in high school Which is great for them but I doubt that they would know where to turn in the event of actual fitness help. Needless to say even for the price, it wasn't worth my commitment. read more
